Records Management
The records management chapters have helped me better understand how to manage my records and electronic records in the following ways:
- I have now learned the different alphabetical indexing rules that will not only help me in my professional life, but in my personal life as well
-There are more ways to organize files besides alphabetically or numerically. You can organize things by subject order, or geographical order.
-
Non-verbal communication in the work place happens everyday. Someone may rub you the wrong way, or say something you don't like. Non-verbal reactions to those situations can say more than words. Recognizing that not only is your verbal communication a key thing to watch while at work, but non-verbal communication as well.
Written Communication
This chapter has helped me to recognize that I can strengthen my written communication in the following ways:
-When writing a specific type of letter to be clear about what the purpose of my letter is.
-When writing emails the tone and language needs to be thought through before sending.
-When writing I need to focus on staying away from writing in the passive voice and focus more on writing in a active voice
-Before writing ANYTHING I really need to focus on who my audience is. Writing in a tone or language that might not translate to the recipient could cause a lot of noise when the message is being delivered.
Overall I learned a great deal from this chapter and will be working on applying what I have learned in future assingments.

With companies always trying to differentiate themselves from one another, excellent customer service is key. If you treat your customers the way you would want to be treated you can guarantee they will not only come back again, but share their story of their customer experience with others.
What is a Leader: the person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country.
What is Leadership: the action of leading a group of people or an organization.
It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.

-Ethics in the workplace not only help the public trust your company as a whole, but it makes the workplace a better place to work
-An Unethical employee is not something to overlook. If you see something going on you need to speak up.

Dealing with stress at work is an everyday thing that people deal with at the workplace. This video shows some great tips on how to manage your work so that the work doesn’t pile up, and end up stressing you out.
Team Work
I think they main concept that stuck with me about team work is that you have to encourage openness and collaborating with team members. A team means you work together you take everyones thoughts and you come up with one collective idea. If you let one person take the lead and they ignore everyones ideas and thoughts you are taking away from the concept of learning and coming together as a team. Two minds is greater than one. Let your team express their thoughts and opinions #teamwork.

This Video really breaks down the 8 key steps to being professional in the work place. The first tip I feel like is the most important. You should always be on time. It makes you look not only unprofessional to show up late, but it shows you do not care about your job.
