The air is cool and sharp, hitting against your delicate skin as your feet crunch through the tall snow. Your breathing is a bit heavy and as you exhale, your breath is visible through the air. Your arms are wrapped around your frame, a heavy wool coat covering your body as you make your way towards the market - the only market this small town offers.
The last time youâve been here was decades ago, just a small child visiting your grandmother during the holidays. You recall your time with her as enjoyable and lively. During the summer, she would take you down towards the river and allow you to swim in water you arenât sure youâd swim in as an adult. During winters, she would turn on the fireplace and sit beside you, homemade hot chocolate in the palm of your small hands.
As a child, a small town seemingly in the middle of nothing but forested woods is fun. You could run and explore for miles. As you grew older, it wasnât something you found yourself enjoying and at the age of 13, you stopped visiting as often until your visits stopped entirely. Phone calls became the norm and every blue moon, your grandmother herself would visit the city.
You feel selfish for being here now after all these years. Your grandmother didnât have long left. She was all alone in this town, your grandfather long deceased to the point you couldnât remember his face without witnessing a picture before. Itâs why you were here now, deciding that you should be here for your grandmother for her final months - something your mother should be doing, as well, but you know she wonât.
Working from home is convenient and was the main reason you were willing to come this far. Your grandmother didnât wish to have any strangers caring for her, nor did she want to spend her final days away from her home. Thus, you moved from your city hours away and came to this secluded town where everyone knew everyone - except you.
Eyes lingered onto you as you entered the market, your breathing slowing. Itâs quiet, you note, no music playing. Thereâs a little chattering, but not enough for it to be as loud as youâre accustomed to.
You grab a basket by the door, a medium-sized wicker basket that looks straight out of a movie, the sight entirely weird to your eyes.
âYouâre not from around here.â
Thatâs a woman's voice, you note, your eyes flickering upwards towards the voice. Sheâs wearing a dark apron, her hair tied and with a hairnet over it. Her dark beady eyes are staring right at you, skeptical.Â
âIâm not.â you respond.Â
The market itself is small and only the necessary items are sold here. In the back is a butcher shop, displaying all types of meat that you swore was hunted by locals here, but you could never prove it. To the right is a small pharmacy where youâd have to pick up your grandmother's medication, pills you would have to crush up and serve to her with applesauce as she always refused to take them. Between aisles are different groceries and necessities for home, far different from the megastores youâre accustomed to attending.Â
âI just moved here recently.â you continue. You were going to continue to see these people and it was easier to get introductions out the way sooner rather than later. âMy grandmother is sick and Iâm caring for her.â
The womanâs face softens, but her eyebrows knit.
âSonia.â the woman speaks. âIs your grandmother?â
You nod your head slightly.
âHuh,â the woman hums. âHavenât seen you since you were about this high.â she says, her hand motioning just a few inches below her shoulders. âYouâre the only one who returned?â
You knew what that meant. You couldnât get your mother to come back to this town even if you tried. She told you time and time again how much she loathed living in a small town where there was little privacy. The first moment she could, she moved away - meeting your father, settling down in a big city and only ever visiting when it was time to drop you off; just for her mothers sake.
âYes.â you nod your head. âIâm here to pick up a few things for my grandmother.â you say awkwardly, holding up the wicker basket in your hands.
The woman nods her head, turning her attention away from you. âYou do that now.â she tells you. âMake sure youâre back home before dark.â
You furrow your brows. It was already dark out due to daylight savings ending. It took you longer than you expected to walk here as your grandmother told you that your âfancy carâ wasnât going to make it. You were fortunate enough that she was only around a 10 minute walk if you took a shortcut through the woods.
You take a deep breath. âIâll try my best.â you respond, your feet picking up. âIâŠitâs nice seeing youâŠagain.â
You decided that you would need to come back tomorrow morning as this basket wasnât going to be able to fit everything you truly desired. You got essentials that could last about a week, a few drinks to last you and some necessities. The lady doubletied your bags and you were on your way, the snow falling a bit faster than before, but your hood did its job at protecting your head.
Thereâs little light, the snow acted as a bit of light due to its light color, but even that wasnât enough. You understood that you were going to heed the womanâs warning from now on. On most days, you worked from home from 7-3, sometimes later. You were going to have to make a schedule, something you loathed doing and you were glad that you were off for the following days for the holidays.
Youâre brought out of your thoughts where your ears pick up on something snapping. A tree branch, you think. It comes from your right, your head whipping to see what it was. You could only see so far, but from what you can see, itâs nothing.
You release a breath, your body shivering. The wind picks up once more and your pace quickens to be home. From where you are, you can see the outline of your grandmother's home, another five minutes and youâll be there.
You hear it again, the snapping and now what sounds like snow crunching. Only, it wasnât your footsteps. Again, your head whips around in an attempt to see whatâs around, but your eyes fail you.
Your grip tightens on your bags, your pace quickening as much as you could due to the high snow. Your heart begins to race, the feeling of something unknown lurking begins to unsettle you. You never heard of bears being out here, but the more you think about it, the more likely it sounds. Was your grandmother close to a bear den? You thought they would be hibernating around this time?
You stop in your tracks when a loud, somber sound breaks through the quiet, forested area. It appears a bit further than where you were, and itâs dragged out. Itâs a howl, you tell yourself, similar to that of a dog.
Or a wolf.
Youâre snapped back into reality when your ears capture what appears to be paddling against the snow, growing louder and louder. Without another thought, you begin to run, your heart racing out your chest due to the obvious threat thatâs coming your way.
You donât dare look behind you. All you focused on was the house in your eyesight, growing nearer and nearer as you ran, but even it appeared so far away. The high snow appeared like quick sand as your feet slammed into it, only slowing you down in the process. Your heart ached and your lungs were heaving, but you didnât stop running.
The air is knocked out of you suddenly and you yelp loudly. Your hands release the bags in your grasp as your body tumbled into freezing snow. For a moment, you cannot breathe, not until you push yourself away from the ground.
Before you could react, thereâs heavy pressure on your back, followed by a deep growl against your ear.Â
You scream as loud as you could when something sharp digs into your thighs, pulling you back. Your hands reach out, grabbing onto nothing as youâre dragged backwards. You attempt to let out another bloodcurdling scream, but you cannot. Youâre suddenly lifted from the snow and slammed back down, this time on your back.
Your vision is blurry for a few moments, the snow falling harder now. When your eyes focus right when another growl sounds dangerously close to you. Your body stills, eyes slowly widening in shock at the sight before you. The first thing you noticed were its eyes, piercing yellow and seemingly glowing in the dark. Then, itâs face, a wolf-like appearance staring right at you - almond-shaped eyes with upright, triangular ears. Black nose that twitches as if it can smell your fear. Its lips are curled into a snarl, revealing sharp teeth bared at you.
You notice quickly itâs fur, black thatâs covered in the fallen snow. Next, itâs height. The beast towers above you, so tall that from afar, youâd mistake it for a tree. Itâs hulking above you, eyes unblinking as it watches you.
Then, before you could react, it lunged at you, opening its mouth to snap it towards you. You scream when realization sets in, sharp teeth sinking into the delicate skin on your neck. Pain instantly soars through your body as you shake entirely in an attempt to get away.
The beast's claws tug at your body, ripping apart your thick clothing so rapidly that in seconds youâre nearly naked. You feel another sharp pain, this time on your chest and thighs, the beast's claws are like knives cutting through fabric.
Something warm and wet hits your bare chest - the beast's tongue. Your hands ball into fists, your arms wailing to get the beast off of you as hot tears pool down your cheeks. Youâre yelling out your sobs, your attacks no match for the beast itself as its prying hands roam against your delicate skin, leaving claw marks in its wake. The slobbering tongue of the beast twirls disgustingly against your nipple before it dips lower and lower.
Your right hand grabs a fist full of the beast's fur, tugging with all your night just as your thighs are forced apart.
A howl sounds through the forested area once more, a gush of wind flowing through your naked body. The beast pushes itself away from you, growling low as it saunters away, glowing eyes watching you.
You donât attempt to cover yourself. You donât attempt to pick up your bags. Instead, you run, body exposed and freezing underneath the snow. Youâre bleeding, blood trickling down from the deep claw marks. Several times you almost fell right on your face again, but your determination to live is much harder than the need to give up and allow the beast out there to eat you.
You crash through your grandmotherâs door, snow trickling in as you fall onto the wooden ground. You slam the door behind you, a rushed heave coming from your lips. You lock the door, but even you knew that whatever was out there was fully capable of coming in if it truly wanted to.
For a moment, you lay there on the cool ground, your heart racing in your chest. Your grandmother was probably asleep in her room by now, oblivious to what was right outside her home. After what felt like hours, you managed to make your way towards the bathroom.
Youâre covered in blood, you note, claw marks all over you - your inner thighs, your sides. Thereâs teeth marks on your neck, blood trickling down it. You can see your veins, black and seemingly infected.
You cry harder, your mind racing on what the fuck just happened - and what the fuck is out there.
That wasnât a wolf. Wolves donât walk on their hind legs. They arenât nearly 8 feet tall - nor do they do what the fuck that beast did to you.
Youâre unsure on what to do. For an hour, you sit in the bathtub, scrubbing at your skin with the hot water, attempting to get warm. You cried until no tears were left, your nosy running and eyes puffy. As the water drained and you removed yourself from the tub, you went to disinfect your wounds. The alcohol stings, especially the bite mark on your neck.Â
You had enough bandages to wrap your inner thighs and a bit on your neck. You dress in a loose t-shirt and sweats and before you make your way to bed, you check on your grandmother. Sheâs asleep like you suspected, tucked right underneath her covers while the fireplace in her room crackles.
You donât know when you fell asleep. All you do remember is laying in your body, your legs up to your chest as your mind replays the moment over and over again. When you do wake, it's the sun beaming through your eyes. You wake up with a screech, sweat dripping from your skin. The bite mark on your neck throbbing, your body hot.
You saw it in your dreams - the beast. It came back for you, its sickening tongue grazing across your skin as it forced you beneath him. This time, however, it speaks - voice deep like a man's.Â
Mine.
Mine.
Mine.
It growls it over and over again as it devours you, sharp teeth sinking into your skin, beast claws piercing your skin. He tears your thighs apart again, this time between your legs wasnât that of a monstrous beast, but a man - ones who face you cannot see.
Youâre embarrassed of what you dream of after a traumatic event that left you dripping in sweat, a pounding heartbeat between your legs.Â
Your grandmother is shocked by your appearance when you come from your own bedroom. âYou arenât supposed to be standing for long, grandma.â you tell her, your voice low. âCome sit down, Iâll make-â
âYou were out at night, werenât you?â your grandmotherâs soft voice is laced with concern.Â
Your heart slows.
âI told you not to go to the store and to wait until the morning.â your grandmotherâs voice is now panicked. She shakes her head. âYou waited until I was dozing off. You never listen-â âGrandma.â you cut her off with a shake of your head. âYou know thoseâŠthat thereâsâŠâ your heart begins to pound now. â...you know about that beast-â
âThey linger at night.â your grandmother's voice comes into a low whisper. âNever during the day. The townspeople know not to linger at night.â
âMake sure youâre back home before dark.â the womanâs warning rings through your ears, now making more sense than before. âYou all know about that beast!â you hiss, eyes widening. âAnd you havenât contacted-â
âTheyâre harmless as long as you stay inside.â your grandmother shakes her head. Her eyes are sad. âI should have warned youâŠâ she trails off. â...they have been here far before we have. This is their land just as much as it is ours.â
Your mind cannot wrap around what in the world is happening right now. How could these people live amongst monsters and be alright with it. Surely, if the beast wanted to, he could break down this door right now and slaughter you and your grandmother. All the townspeople.
âY/N,â your grandmother is slow as she takes her steps. She sits at her wooden table, a sigh releasing from her lips. A few pieces of grey hair fall into her face. âduring the winter, itâs those beasts who hunt for the townspeople. They provide the meat for us to eat. In exchange, we keep our distance. We donât roam at night where they frequent.â
You watch your grandmother in disbelief.Â
This wasnât normal.
These people live and depend on beasts who could surely kill them if they so choose.
âOpen that drawer,â your grandmother lifts a wrinkled finger, pointing behind you. Itâs a junk drawer, you recall, and as you open it, youâre unsure what youâre expected to see. âthe velvet cinch bag, grab it.â
You do as youâre told after rummaging through the drawer. Itâs heavy in your palms and before your grandmother speaks again, you draw the strings apart and look inside of it.
âGrand-â
âIf you are ever in danger, use that against the beast.âÂ
Your grandmother coughs, lifting a hand to her lips.
Itâs a dagger, you note. Itâs short, but sharp. The handle is silver and contains a crossguard.
âItâs pure silver.â your grandmother speaks, regaining her voice. âThat could harm the beast. I do advise not going out at night, but keep this on you for protection.â
You hold the dagger in the palm of your hands in total disbelief. How long has this been going on that they find this normal? How is it that they can communicate with such beasts that theyâve come dependent on them to eat during the harsh winters? You arenât sure you want an answer, but your mind races with questions, one after another. Did your mother know of such monstrosities? Was this why she wished to remain in the city? If so, why hadnât she told you anything about it? You wouldâve hauled your grandmotherâs ass to your home back in the large city instead of moving here where the both of you were in obvious danger.
âDuring the dayâŠitâs safe?â you question her, tone skeptical. âIâŠwhen I was attackedâŠâ you swallow. You didnât want to tell your grandmother just how this beast attacked you. â...I dropped the bags outside.â
Your grandmother sighs. âThey donât roam during the day.â she repeats. âThe bags should still be out there. Come-â
âYou stay there!â you hiss, eyes stern. Not only was your grandmother old and didnât need to be walking outside in this weather, but you didnât want to risk being attacked again.Â
Quickly, you bundled yourself up. Your hadnât bothered to gather any of your tattered clothing from the night prior and youâre saddened that your designer coat was ruined, but you had backup.
As you swing the wooden door open, dagger firmly in your pocket, your eyes cast downward.
The bags are just outside the door, appearing just as they did before you dropped them. Your head snaps from side to side, but you see nothing. Itâs snowing lightly and has been for hours now. Whatever footsteps that could tell you if this was a beast or a regular person who dropped your bags off is long gone.
You bring the bags inside and close the door, your mind continuing to race with more questions. You decide that when it was safe to travel, you were going to take your grandmother far from here. You didnât care if she was kicking and screaming, you cannot fathom staying in a place where beasts roam!
Surely, the city has its crime. Petty theft, a few break ins and some more heinous situations - but that could be dealt with. Itâs what youâve known all your life. No one has prepared you for nearly being consumed by a random beast.
It was the afternoon when your grandmother told you to get ready. She was having her tea, consuming the applesauce youâve given her with the hidden pill powdered inside. âDonât you remember the feast weâd attend?â your grandmother questions you. âYou would stuff your face with as much cookie as you could handle.â
âGrandmaâŠâ you shake your head. â...I have no intention of going to a feast with the townspeople.â Nor did you remember ever attending said feasts when you did visit, but maybe your childish brain just thought it was a get together, never truly paying attention to anything. âYou arenât-â
âI am.â your grandmother nods her head. âItâs tradition, Y/N. I make the hot chocolate every year for this event!â
âAre you people insane around here?â you ask boldly, a scoff in your voice. âThereâs beasts that are around 8 feet walking around outside and you want to-â
âThe annual feasts are only from noon to 3 p.m, Y/N. Weâre all in right before dark.â
They were insane, you think, and so were you for walking with your grandmother in the very woods you were attacked into said town. You find that you arenât alone in the forest as you were before. Several yards away are more families, all walking towards the town. Children are laughing and running around and your grandmother waves to people that she sees.
The annual feast is held in the center of the town in a church that appears quite larger than youâd expected it to be. It seems that everyone is gathered here, chattering and laughing amongst one another. Tables line out with already cooked food. Youâve never witnessed anything like this. The small community actually likes one another, all coming together to do this once a year. You suppose you understood why your grandmother never wanted to leave the place she calls home. She sat with more older ladies with the same grey hairs, conversing and doing exactly what she told you she was going to do.Â
You donât have much of an appetite, nor do you want to be gathered in here longer than you need to be. You make your way outside the church and let out a sigh, your shoulders slumping. Itâs quiet outside, a small breeze in the air. Itâs no longer snowing, you note, and for that youâre a bit grateful.
You arenât sure why you do it, but your legs take you just around the church. From here you can still hear the people from inside, smoke coming from the top of said church as the fireplace inside is warming everyone up. The back of the church resembles the same forest as the one your grandmother has, but instead you notice a path thatâs nearly plowed, leading deeper inside the forest. You find yourself strolling until you see what appears to be a gazebo, the small shelter appearing lonely as you enter it.Â
You sit on the wooden bench, humming. From here, the church is still in view but it offers privacy you desperately wanted from other townspeople. The outside is eerily quiet. There werenât any cars driving back and forth, no one walking along the roads. Whatever birds that were around seemingly never chirped, possibly accustomed to the beasts surrounding this area like the townsfolk were.
Your neck begins to sting, a throbbing sensation that causes you to wince. You place a hand onto your neck and add pressure onto the bandage. It felt so warm, almost as if it was bleeding, but you felt no moisture.Â
âYou arenât in the Church.â
Your head snaps to the sound of the sudden voice, deep and close. Your heart races, startled by the tall man at the entrance of the gazebo.Â
You swallow, smacking your lips together. The man stares down at you, waiting for your response. His hair is dark and short, a few spiky tresses along his forehead.Â
Immediately, you notice his eyes. Theyâre a dark brown, but right in the bit of sunlight, you notice a speckle of brown peaking through. Just as they are intriguing, they're intense, staring right through you.
âIâŠâ you blink a few times, swallowing the lump in your throat. Your cheeks burn with embarrassment at how dumb you look right now. âI-I, um, not really hungry.âÂ
The man continues to stare at you for a brief moment, but then his lips twitch upwards. His cheeks creases, deep dimples appearing. The action causes your body to warm up even more, your eye focusing on the indents before turning away shyly.
âYouâre new here.â the man states the obvious. This time, he steps into the gazebo and takes a seat on the wooden bench across from you. Itâs then you noticed that he isnât as bundled as you, or the rest of the people in the church, are. Heâs wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt, the cool breeze in the air unphasing him.Â
âYeah.â you murmur. âMy grandmother is sick.â
âSonia.â the man states matter-of-factly. You ponder if word got around about a new woman's arrival, or had he seen you walk alongside her. âThat she is. Sheâs an amazing woman who kept more than enough of us fed for years.â
You allow yourself to smile. That was your grandmother exactly, you think, always feeding anyone she could.Â
âHow has your stay been thus far?â the man questions. âExcuse my impoliteness,â he then chuckles, a pair of pearly white teeth sparkling at you. Theyâre straight with seemingly no imperfections in sight. âMy name is Namjoon, by the way. Itâs nice to meet youâŠâ
You blink, realizing that this was your moment to introduce yourself.
âY-Y/N.â you nod your head. âItâs nice to meet you, as well, Namjoon.â
Namjoonâs eyes watches the way you look away once more, ever so shyly. He knows your mind is racing, he can feel it.
âWhatâs on your mind?â Namjoon questions. âYou seem to be a bit fidgety.â
You contemplate Namjoonâs words, letting them flow through your mind before you answer him. Your neck continues to throb, pulsating even more now. âJustâŠhow long have you been living here, Namjoon? If you donât mind me asking, of course.âÂ
Namjoonâs eyes glances down to your leg. Itâs shaking up and down, possibly a habit of yours when you were nervous - or in deep thought. His eyes also pick up a wince in your face and a roll of your neck.Â
Namjoon sighs through his nose.
âIâve been here all my life.â Namjoon responds. âMy fatherâs currently the mayor. My grandfather before him, and his father and so on.â Namjoon explains. âTruth be told, Y/N, things are done differently around here. Mayors arenât electedâŠâ he trails off, knitting his brows. He had a feeling there was more to your question.
Namjoon notices the way your throat bobs when you swallow.
âIs there something else you want to ask me?â Namjoon questions, tilting his head a bit. âSomething troubling you?âÂ
You begin to fiddle with your fingers, heart racing. You supposed that meant that Namjoon was next in line to be mayor eventually - and now, your mind continues to race with more questions that you arenât sure you should ask.Â
âAreâŠâ you swallow. ââŠis it safe here?âÂ
Your cheeks burn, your voice dropping to a mere whisper that Namjoon hears loud and clear.Â
âDo you feel unsafe here?â Namjoon doesnât miss a beat. He leans forward with a furrowed brow. âI swear to you, our town is nothing but secure. Thereâs no crime here, Y/N, not even petty theft. Our community is tight-knit as you saw.âÂ
Namjoon nods behind you towards the Church. Â
âEveryone comes together like family here. Your grandmother is a grandmother to us all.â Namjoon offers another grin. âWe hope to invite you into our community, as well, but it seems that something is troubling you.â
Thereâs silence on both ends. While Namjoon is quiet, his eyes appear to speak for him. He wants you to say it - whatever was troubling you. The elephant in the room that surely, as the Mayorâs son, would already know. You, on the other hand, wince once more, the bite mark on your neck continuing to throb. You let out a sudden grunt, rolling your neck.
âI was attacked.â you say suddenly. You know you shouldnât have been so blunt, but your body is growing hotter and hotter and your neck hasnât stopped throbbing. You were afraid you were going to be sick - that beast couldâve had rabies for all you know.
Namjoon hums suddenly. You blink a few times, before shaking your head.Â
âIâŠnot by anyone in the c-community but-â
Thereâs a shudder that runs up your spine. Your body begins to trouble almost as if youâre cold, but the heat is unbearable. You squeeze your hands into fists, your neck continuing to throb, pulsating out of your skin.
âIâm aware.âÂ
Namjoonâs voice brings you back to reality. It wasnât the response you were hoping for.Â
âI do apologize. Y/N, that it happened to you.â
Thereâs sweat lining your forehead. Your hand reaches up to touch the bandage on your neck. You swallow. âThen Iâm not safe here.â you murmur. âAnd neither is my grandmother.â
Namjoon leans forward, eyes unblinking and staring right at you. For a reason unknown to you, youâre unable to look away. You appear captivated by the man before you. Thereâs another shudder running through you that goes straight between your legs. Your cheeks are hot, and the throbbing sensation from your neck is being mimicked right at your core.
âYouâre afraid.â Namjoon notes. âYour heart is racing. Youâre also in painâŠâ
You swallow.
âThe mark on your neck is causing you great distress, but it wonât last long, Y/N.â
âW-What?â you laugh nervously - awkwardly. âHow do you know about thatâŠdidâŠâ you try to think of many scenarios on how Namjoon would know what happened to you and so soon. You think about your grandmother's words on the beasts and youâre quite curious on how anyone communicates with them.
Namjoon stands suddenly, his tall frame hovering above your seated one. Slowly, your eyes roam upwards, staring at the man that peers down at you. Your heart picks up once more and your eyes slowly widen.Â
Namjoon is quicker than you. He understood that as soon as your mind pieced it together, that you were going to attempt to flee. And you do. In your fight or flight mind, you choose to go right out of the gazebo which means going further into the forest and away from the Church.
Namjoon is fast, but he allows you to run. Once you and he are further away is when you feel your body be shoved into the ground once more, the sense of deja vu coming over you.
âYou shouldn't have run.â Namjoonâs voice is deep and right against your ear. His body is heavy against yours, radiating heat that contrasts the cold snow beneath you. âIt triggers predatory chase.â
Youâre silent, trembling beneath him pathetically.
âYou must have a lot of questions.â Namjoon continues. âI donât want you to fear me, Y/N, but I assume you are well aware that things here areâŠdifferent.â
You arenât expected to speak and Namjoon fully understands that this is a lot to handle. He had plans on introducing you to the lifestyle little by little - but then you were attacked.
By him no less.
âI didnât mean to attack you last night.â Namjoon continues. While youâre completely still, your eyes wide, Namjoonâs lips are trailing kisses along your bandaged neck. âI wasnât expecting to see you out there andâŠin that form, itâs harder to control myself.â
Itâs hard to imagine Namjoon, a man thatâs already tall, growing even taller in height - and growing hair, long sharp nails that are made to attack.Â
And sharp teeth.
Glowing yellow eyes.
Becoming a beast, something youâve never seen before or ever imagined existed.Â
And yet, here Namjoon was admitting to you that it was him who attacked you. It was him who tore your clothing off within seconds, monstrous tongue sliding over your body disgustingly-
Namjoonâs throat vibrates, the same growl that causes you to stiffen even more. How familiar it was just the night prior.
âI apologize for scaring you, YâN. I wasnât going to hurt you.â
Namjoon can feel your heartbeat quicken, along with the goosebumps that form onto your skin as if itâs his own. His nose twitches with the automatic arousal - and fear - that youâre omitting.Â
âWâŠWâŠâ
Itâs hard to form a single word, your heart terrified that at any moment, Namjoon will turn back to the beast he was last night and do the exact opposite.
â....why?â you whisper.
You feel Namjoon lift his upper body away from you, both of his hands on either side of your head. Your eyes watch them, wide and alert.
âWhy what?â Namjoon questions.Â
It happens far too fast, almost like a sudden vision. Your mind replays the events of the night prior, Namjoonâs claws tugging at your body and ripping your clothing in seconds. His claws slash at your thighs and your chest with how swift he moves, his tongue slamming against your bare chest, twirling around your nipple and dipping lower and lower, his large hands forcing your thighs apart-
You let out a sudden gasp, squeezing your eyes shut, your mind ringing.
Namjoon grunts, his lower half rutting into you on instinct, an action his human self wishes he hadnât done. It isnât his fault that the animalistic part of him craves you and even now, heâs holding himself back from ravishing you right here.
âItâs complicated to explain something this complex to those who do not come from the same world as we do.â Namjoon murmurs. He pushes himself away from you, his eyes softening as you lay pitifully on the snowy ground. âYou feel it, donât you? The effects of the bite mark on your neck.â
The sudden hot flashes and waves of arousal. The blurred visions of the night prior - it all comes down at you all at once that it has you trembling. Namjoonâs hand gently tugs at your coat to face him. Youâre nearly limp in his grasp, your eyes blinking up to stare at him.
âIn simpler terms, Y/NâŠâ Namjoon murmurs. â...you belong to me.â
Namjoon hears your heart quicken once more.
âGetâŠâ you take a deep breath. â...away fromâŠme.â
Namjoonâs eyes harden at your words. His grip on your coat only tightens and he remains silent.
âGet away.â you repeat, this time with more malice. âGet away!â
Your scream echoes off of the high treeâs, booming across the emptiness of the forest.
âI think you must be confused, Y/N,â Namjoon is dangerously calm, but his eyes tell you everything you need to know. âthat it isnât up to debate. Iâve already claimed you with that mark on your neck. I can smell your pussy leaking from right here. You want me just as much as I want you.â
Widening your eyes, your hands - trembling, but determined - crash against Namjoonâs chest. Heâs solid and isnât pushed in the slightest, but you only continue to push at him similar to last night.
âThe pain isnât going to stop until I knot you, Y/N. Itâll grow over time, leaving you in such tremendous pain and arousal that youâd be begging to be fucked.â Namjoon barks.Â
âYouâre fucking crazy!â you bark back. Somehow you manage to snatch yourself away from Namhoon. âYou and everyone else in this damn town are crazy and Iâm not staying here to be killed by you!â
You couldnât get far. Your head is yanked by your hair and youâre forced towards Namjoon in a matter of seconds. You yelp when you feel your lips being captured by Namjoonâs, his free hand snatching the zipper to your coat down. His grip on your hair tightens when he feels your resistance, free hand digging underneath your shirt and past your bra.
âS-Stop-â
Namjoonâs tongue slides into your mouth, his large hand gripping your breast entirely. Your body shudders, once more growing limp in his embrace. Your mind swirls as Namjoonâs hand grips and tug at your breast, his tongue dancing against yours. For a few moments, you and he remain like that until he breaks the invasive kiss.
You arenât given time to react before youâre being shoved back onto the snowy ground, Namjoonâs rough hands tugging off your coat. âStop-â
Then your shirt is ripped away, your bra following suit. Your arms go to cover yourself, but Namjoon doesnât allow you to hide away. âYou feel it, donât you? The way your body reacts to me.â Namjoon murmurs, hovering above you. His head lowers to your neck, sending pisses that burn ecstasy into your skin. His warm hands slide down to push your arms away to grip both of your breasts into the palms of his calloused hands. âThatâs because you belong to me. Your body, your heart and soul - itâs all mine. Iâve claimed it.â
Namjoonâs lips press against your breast, his tongue poking out to coat the flesh as he drags it towards your nipple. Your back arches at the foreign sensation, your body reacting in the way he told you it would. You shake your head lightly, your mind telling you that this is wrong - because it was. You didnât belong to him and no bite mark would ever claim you - you werenât an animal like him.
However, your body betrays you. As Namjoonâs tongue twirls around your nipple, your body shudders while your pussy pulsates. Your mouth falls open to let out soft sobs of pleasure that you could no longer contain.
With his right hand, Namjoon trails it down your bare stomach until heâs at the waistline of your jeans. His nails dig into the fabric, his mouth suckling harder onto your nipple. He tugs at your jeans until even they are ripping. A silent protest falls on deaf ears as Namjoon makes his way inside your jeans, fingertips dancing closer and closer to your pulsating heat.
Namjoon pops his lips from your nipple, his eyes glancing at your flushed face for a moment before his tongue trails lower and lower, mimicking the actions heâs done the night prior.
âEven though youâre frightened, Y/N, I can smell just how much you want me.â
Though youâre bare in such a freezing environment, your body still feels warm. Maybe itâs Namjoonâs own warmth radiating off of him towards you like a heater. That, and the bite mark on your neck burns in a way that's indescribable, a pain youâve never felt before.
Your panties are next, a sharp tearing sound echoes off of the high trees. Namjoon discards them without a care in the world, his large hands forcing your thighs apart.
A familiar growl erupts from Namjoonâs throat. Deep and animalistic. Itâs what brings you back to reality for a moment, your eyes widening. Your body lifts a bit to peer down at Namjoon between your legs.
âNam-â
Your words die when Namjoonâs tongue licks at your clit. Your thighs tremble at the sudden sensation that doesnât end. Instead, Namjoon buries himself right between your legs, suckling at your core. Your hand reaches out to push him away, even if your body is trembling with pleasure. However, the man doesnât budge. He has a tight grip on your legs, holding you right in place as he continues to feat on you.
Your mind and body fight against one another. You shouldnât be doing this out in the open - or at all. You should fight your way out of this and run as fast as you can, but your body trembles. Your back arches, hips having a mind of their own as they rut against Namjoonâs tongue. Your moans start off slow and low, until they grow louder and louder.
Namjoonâs head bobs back and forth, muffled growls erupting from his throat - possessive. His nails dig into your skin to assure you donât run away from him. His cock is painfully hard in his pants, throbbing and twitching. You taste far too divine that he finds he could stay like this forever.
Namjoon can smell it, how close you are. Thereâs a knot in your stomach that has you breathing heavily and Namjoon takes it as his time to hook his hands beneath your knees and force them upwards against your chest, the new position only driving you further over the edge. Your eyes roll, your body trembles in his grasp all the while he continues to savor the taste of your arousal on his tongue.
You yourself are unsure of how it happened. One moment youâre a mess, body numb due to the intense pleasure of your own orgasm, slick trailing down your thighs, to you now running through the snow forest for your life, only your coat shielding you from the harshly cold conditions. Your mind flashes with the events that just happened - you brandishing the silver dagger and swinging it towards Namjoon. He dodges the first one, but the second swing slashes his right in the shoulder.Â
Going to the church would be foolish and youâre glad that no one manages to witness you run past and back into the forests to your grandmother's house. You fall to your knees as you enter, catching your breath. The household is quiet and youâre glad that your grandmother hadnât left the church in search of you. You arenât sure how long you had, but you knew for damn sure you werenât going to be staying here any longer.
Neither was your grandmother.
The next half hour consisted of you packing your and your grandmother's belongings and hauling them into your car. Cleaning off your car took longer than you expected, but you managed. You didnât want to drive with this much snow and ice on the ground, but youâd be damned if you were attacked yet again by Namjoon.
Your body shudders at the thought of his name, your mind flashing with visions of him between your legs, devouring you entirely until youâre left a quivering mess. It has your legs clenching together, but you understood what you had to do.
Just as you shut your trunk with a final item, a blood curdling scream echoes off the tall trees. It causes you to nearly plummet onto the ground. Your head snaps towards the sound of it just in time for your ears to capture another scream.
And another.
And even more, this time all at once.
Your heart leaps out your chest, your hand tapping your coat pocket for the dagger. Your hand is trembling when you do, but you have to ignore the fear overcoming you.Â
The screams are coming from the Church and as your legs sprint to take you there, the sight alone almost has you falling to your knees.
The crimson color splattered against the pristine snow is a dramatic contrast. Several bodies are laid out, covered in several claw marks and pools of their own blood.Â
Thereâs a few screaming people, mostly women and children, who all run away. Their eyes are wide with fear, tears streaming down their cheeks.Â
You take the dagger from your coat, hand trembling to the point that you nearly drop it. You begin to stumble into the street, attempting to keep your eyes straight ahead, but itâs hard.
The church door slams open just as your feet hit the bottom step. Your eyes widen.
You let out a short breath, your hand squeezing around the dagger.
âNamâŠjoonâŠ?â
âNot me.â
Your heart makes another leap. This time, the dagger does fall from your hands as you turn around to face the man right behind you. Thereâs a growl right behind you that belongs to yet another monstrous beast coming from inside the church.
âIâve watched you.â
Namjoon takes a step closer to you, his dark eyes staring down at you with such disdain.Â
âIâve watched you pack everything up in your car. Are you going somewhere?â
Thereâs more screams that sound throughout the forest. Theyâre far, but even from here you can hear the fear in their pitch.
âWhat have you done?â you asked. Your hand slides against the cold snow to find the dagger while keeping your eyes on the man.
âI thought I made it clear that you,â Namjoon stops in his tracks right above you. âbelong to me.â
Your fingertips find the dagger.
âAnd yet, you try to escape. Look around.â
Namjoon waves a hand around the bloody scenery.
âThe inside is worse.â
Your heart drops, eyes widening.Â
Your grandmother.
âSheâs alive.â Namjoonâs head tilted. âShe was removed from here before the massacre. Sheâs safe at my home.â
You allow yourself to swallow. You could believe what Namjoon was saying, but you didnât want to. This man had assaulted you not once, but twice. He had caused this massacre simply because he was upset about you - a woman heâs just met - was leaving.
âIâm not crazy, Y/N.â Namjoon chuckles. âIâm a man in love with the man heâs mated with. Is that wrong?â
âI want to see my grandmother.â
Namjoon reaches out his hand for you to take. Instead, your hand grips onto the dagger and swings it at him. It slashes against the palm and the man visibly winces, eyes widening. He lets out a low growl.
âStand down!â Namjoon hisses, his eyes darting to the large beast behind you thatâs ready to defend him. âI got this.â he states.Â
Namjoonâs bloody palm leaks onto the ground before the two of you. âYou see what youâve done, Y/N?â he questions, his tone dangerously calm. âYou did all of this.â
Namjoon motions to the pile of dead bodies surrounding the two of you.
âNo.â you shake your head. You hold the dagger in front of you defensively. âYou-â
âYouâre a selfish bitch who risked the lives of everyone in this community. Even your grandmothers.â Namjoon interrupts you. âEveryone here was safe before you came.â
You arenât faster than Namjoon. Before you could rebuttal, your wrist is snatched, the dagger falling onto the ground. Roughly, Namjoon yanks you up onto your feet.Â
Your neck burns at how close Namjoon is.
âYou feel it, donât you?â Namjoon forces you to walk back into the forest. âThat burning in your neck? The shudder down your back? The way you want me even though youâre frightened for your life?â
No matter how hard you struggle, Namjoonâs grip on you doesnât falter. Heâs dragging you deeper and deeper into the forest until the church is no longer visible. Youâre struggling against him, but you arenât a match for him in the slightest.Â
âIâll kill them all.â Namjoon hisses. This time, he throws you onto the ground. Your back hits the snow. Before you could attempt to crawl away - and fail - Namjoon is on you. âI refrain from hurting women and children, but if you donât careâŠâ
Namjoon doesnât care about how much of your clothing he ruins if he means that he gets to your body quicker.
â...then why should I?â Namjoon murmurs, his hands rip between fabrics of clothing until your bra is visible. âIâll force you to watch the way we kill each and every one of them. Your grandmother included.â
Namjoon watches the way you stop struggling.
âOrâŠyou let me have you the way we both want to, right?â Namjoon slides his hands down your stomach. âYou stay here with me where you belong and everyone will be fine.â
âYou already started killing people.â you grit out, eyes beginning to water.Â
âNot people. Men.â Namjoon snickers. âIt can all end right here. Be selfless for once, Y/N. You can have a good life here.â he states.Â
Your pants are the next to go, followed by your panties. Namjoon enjoys your nude body beneath him for his eyes to satiate.
âYou wouldnât have to work so hard, either. Everything is provided for us here.â Namjoon continues, his invading fingers sliding right between your legs.Â
Your mind may despise him for now, but your body - due to the bite mark - craves for his touch. Your thighs part instantly when his fingers dip between your legs to slide at your clit. Itâs throbbing and drenched, just like heâd known itâd be.
âLook how wet you are.â Namjoon chuckles, his fingers twirling along your clit. Your back arches, glossy eyes blinking. âI can smell you, Y/N. Youâre ready to be full of my knot.â
Namjoon dips two fingers inside of you to feel just how much you wanted him. Instantly, your velvet walls clench around him with need. He begins to pump, his eyes watching your face closely as he does so.
Your mind is screaming at you to stop. Stop moaning. Stop arching your back. Stop wanting more.
But thereâs something about how Namjoonâs fingers reach so deep inside of you that has you wanting more. He pumps them in and out of you with such confidence, purely assured that he knows what your body wants.Â
âIâm going to do that right here, Y/N. Iâm going to fuck you full with my knot.â Namjoon hums, pressing a thumb onto your clit as he pumps. âAnd youâre going to let me, right?â
The new added pleasure has you sinking deeper and deeper. Your screaming consciousness appears to be much further than you remembered it. All you could focus on is the way Namjoonâs fingers feel inside of you.
âY-Yes!â
You squeal just as your body lets out the pressure itâs been building up. Namjoon releases his fingers just as your arousal gushes out of you.
Your body continues to warm up. Youâve only ever felt like this when you had a fever, but even then your body wouldnât have adapted to the nearly freezing temperature like it has now.Â
Namjoon doesnât intend on wasting anymore time. It isnât until you feel something directly against your clit does your body jerk, your head lifting a bit to look at the man between your legs. Your glossy eyes widen a bit, watching the way he rubs the tip of his cock against your throbbing clit.
âSto-op thatâŠ!âÂ
There isnât any authority in your voice for Namjoon to take you seriously even if he wanted to. From your position, you see just how toned Namjoon is. His shirt isnât off, but he hikes it up just enough for you to catch a glimpse of his lower abs; toned and refined. Your eyes then - slowly and more than slightly shocked - glances back to his cock. It is visibly throbbing, you note, as he rubs the tip of it onto your clit. Thereâs a low growling sound that surrounds the forest entirely. At first, you thought it could be more Beasts approaching. However, you soon realized that the growling is coming from Namjoon himself.Â
âI've known ever since youâve come,â Namjoon begins, his tone lowering. You cannot help the way your mouth falls open when the tip of his cock presses at your entrance. âthat Iâd have you the way it was intended.â
You canât ask what in the world he was speaking of. You assume it had something to do with the mark on your neck. Everything was going to leave you with more questions than answers.
Namjoon begins to thrust, the tip popping in. Your eyes widen, your mind screaming at you to snap out of whatever trance you were and fight off this man - not, this beast. Even if it costs you your life.
You donât, however, and itâs what causes your mind to spiral.
Aggressively, Namjoon snatches your waist, sliding his cock out like before just to thrust it back in fully. The sudden action has you gasping, feeling the sharp pain right in your stomach.Â
You should have known it wasnât going to stop there. No, Namjoon had held back long enough in his eyes. His possessive hands lift your bottom half up, his hips rutting in and out of you at an alarming pace.
You make such beautifully dirty noises, Namjoon thinks, as he fucks you. He isnât a fool in knowing that you loathe him. In fact, he can feel the hatred seeping out of you. However, your body lusts for him, your pussy squeezing around his ramming cock, the bulge in your stomach evident with each thrust. You can only hate someone so much as long as your body adores them.
Thereâs tears prickling the corner of your eyes, your body nearly limp. Your breast pounces with each aggressive pump of Namjoonâs cock, your mind swirling with too many thoughts at once. How much you hated him. How you wanted this to be over withâŠ
Your pussy squeezes around Namjoonâs cock, your mind continuing to race with each passing second.
How good Namjoonâs cock felt. How amazing it feels thrusting in and out of youâŠ
Your back arches, your thighs widening on their own to allow Namjoon to take more and more of you. With each thrust, the smacking sound of your skin slapping against his sounds throughout the forest, offering little privacy. Anyone could walk by and witness the way youâre being used by this very man.
âYou like the thought of that, donât you?â Namjoon hisses, his nails digging into your soft flesh. âThe thought of people watching me claim you as mine.â
You swallow back a moan, your eyes widening a bit at just how he knows that. Your mouth falls open, a soft âslow downâ plea coming between your lips that Namjoon ignores entirely. Why would he slow down when your pussy is taking him so well? Why would he slow down when thereâs a creamy ring around his cock while your juices coat your thighs?
âI know exactly what youâre thinking, baby. You hate my guts right now.â Namjoon chuckles.Â
This time, Namjoon releases your hips and proceeds to push your thighs apart. He presses your knees right at your shoulders, a position you werenât even sure you could be in prior to now. This new position allows the man to go even deeper, hitting that spot that has you seeing stars. His dark eyes watch the way your eyes roll with each pump, loud moans erupting through those soft, parted lips.
âBut you love the way Iâm fucking you right now.â Namjoon grunts. Your clit rubs along Namjoonâs pelvis, adding more tortuous pleasure. âYour body cannot deny the way it feels, baby. It belongs to me, after all.â
Your body, thatâs already warm, now burns with pleasure at the humiliating sound your pussy makes. It squelches and gushes as if agreeing with Namjoon.Â
âI h-hate you.â you stutter, followed by a drawn out moan.
At your words, Namjoon laughs. âI know,â he sing-songs. âBut my pussy loves me. All mine~â
Namjoon changes the position yet again, this time flipping the two of you. He hoists you on top of him. âAll mine to fuck and breed, right? Fill you up nicely until youâre round.â
Your eyes glare down at him the best you could. Youâre forced to hold onto Namjoonâs shoulders for support as his cock drills into you.Â
âI donât belong to you!â you snap back, your body deciding to grind your hips in a way youâd never.
âOf course you do.â Namjoon snaps back. âLook at the way youâre taking my cock right now, baby. Only someone made for me could handle it.â
You release another moan. This wasnât you, your mind screams at you. Itâs whatever heâs done when he bites your neck. Itâs not your doing that has your hips rutting up and down, bouncing against the very cock you tell yourself you didnât want. You donât want to give Namjoon the satisfaction, but you already are. He watches with dark, lustful eyes at the way you take his cock needily, your pulsing pussy in full view.Â
âI hate you.â your nails dig into the fabric of his shirt, the same tears prickling the corner of your eyes. You feel the pressure building up in your stomach, but your waist doesnât stop grinding against his cock, the pleasure so grand that you want to feel it more and more.
Deeper.
Harder.
âI know.â Namjoon grunts, your pussy continuing to squeeze around him. âYouâll come to love me eventually, baby. For now, just let go.â
Namjoon rests a palm onto your ass, squeezing it possessively. The action has you moaning. âI wonât l-love you!â you hiss, your head mere inches away from him. âIâll find a way to kill you myâŠmyselfâŠ!â
Namjoon licks his lips. âOh yeah?â he entertains your words, finding you cute when you were fucked out and full of anger. His hand proceeds to slap against your ass, sending a sharp pain throughout your body. âBut you love my cock so much, baby. Look at the way you take me.â
Namjoon meets your thrusts halfway, his dark eyes looking right through yours, unblinking.Â
âDonât forget what I said, baby. You go against meâŠâ Namjoon slams a hand against your ass once more - then again and again until youâre shaking with overstimulation. Before you know it, youâre cumming, a gush of arousal pooling out of you.
Namjoon holds you close against his body as he continues to rut into you, his cock swelling. Youâre limp, your sweaty forehead against his as he takes you, eyelids barely managing to stay open.
â...Iâll kill everyone. Could you afford to have that much blood on your hands?â Namjoon continues, pumping in a load of warm cum inside of you. âCould you truly live with yourself knowing you caused unnecessary bloodshed?â
Thereâs a soothing hand on your back that rubs it so gently that, for a moment, you forget that it belongs to a beast - a being so cruel and heinous.
Your body jolts awake, your heart pounding outside your chest. Instantly, your hand flies to your neck. You feel the bandage sticking tightly against your skin.
Your eyes roam around the room. You're back in your grandmother's home in the guest bedroom. You let out a breath.
Your body works on its own. You kick the thick blankets off of you and sprint out of the room. âGrand-â
You stop when you reach the dining room. Your grandmother sits at the table, a tea sitting in front of her. Across from her, your eyes narrow at the man. Namjoon offers you a smile, dimples sinking into his cheeks. âGood morning, Y/N.â he says softly.Â
âYouâre finally awake. Youâve been asleep since yesterday evening.â your grandmother speaks to you.Â
âWhy is he here?â you ask your grandmother, eyes remaining on Namjoon.
âI bought you a gift.â Namjoonâs own eyes narrow. Itâs a warning, he tells you without speaking. âItâs Christmas, afterall, Y/N.â
The chair scrapes against the ground as Namjoon stands. Your hand squeezes at your side, your mind racing. You wished you hadnât lost the silver dagger - Namjoon can feel your hatred seeping off of you as he draws nearer.Â
âI was just telling your Grandmother about our engagement.â Namjoon stops before you, in his hands a small, black box.
You feel as though youâre going to be sick.
âItâs amazing.â your Grandmother coos.
Namjoon offers another smile.Â
âShe doesnât remember.â
âWâŠwhat?â
âI didnât say anything.â Namjoon murmurs, lifting the box for you. He opens it right then.
âShe doesnât remember anything from the night prior. No one does.âÂ
You hear Namjoonâs voice, but his lips don't move. You take a deep breath.Â
âSurely you donât think that thereâs only beasts that roam these forests, my love.âÂ
Namjoon removes the ring from the box. The oval-shaped diamond in the middle sparkles underneath the soft lights in the home.Â
You offer Namjoon your hand. Not because you wanted to, but because he demands it unspokenly.Â
You watch as if outside of your body as Namjoon places the ring onto your fingers. He then lifts your hand to his lips and presses a kiss onto your knuckles. âMerry Christmas.â he murmurs, his eyes flickering from the dark eyes to the familiar yellow ones you encountered two nights ago.
