Just a few, because this city is starting to feel like a vacation home. How about you come to California now so we can be your tour guides?

Summer thus far.

Dear Baby Tsu,

Now that my college days are long gone (ha!) here is what has been happening as a result of my free time.

Andrew came to visit! We had one heck of a week gorging on Seattle's tastiest foods, talking in baby voices about inappropriate things, and savoring every moment with our favorite future Doctor.

Shortly thereafter, Alyssa came up for a visit. We got real acquainted with hair dye, sibling-ness, and South Lake Union swims.

We then established a Monday night tradition with Jeff consisting of food, confessions, and dessert.

And now we are reestablishing ourselves as civilized beings who walk on concrete, bathe, and eat non-freeze-dried foods.

Since our return from the wild we have engrossed ourselves in grad school research (looks like our Seattle days may be up for the count), veganism, bike commuting (everywhere), and studying for the GRE.

It is crazy to think that in 11 short months we may no longer be able to call this city home! But I have an inkling feeling our next home may be slightly more... blue sky-ed.

Dear Baby Tsu,

Since I've already bombarded you with 50+ photos of the Wonderland Trail on other social media outlets, here are a few favorites from the trip. We spent 5 days in Mount Rainier National park, backpacked 40 miles, and saw SO much. Here are some noteworthy moments since we still haven't had a chance to fully update/recover.

Over the course of 3 days and 20 miles we: climbed 1150 ft, dropped 85 ft, climbed 1535 ft, down 1100 ft, back up 1315 ft, down 1515ft, up 1515 ft, and back down 1765ft of elevation. We then proceeded to do the same exact thing again, only in reverse for the next 2 days.

Day 4 consisted of 14 miles, a total elevation gain of 4380 ft and loss of 3070 ft.

The math required to figure this all out took me well over 20 minutes.

Most nights we were completely alone at our backcountry camp grounds.

I learned how to backpack will experiencing a very special week of the month (and no, that is not my birthday week!)

Despite the physical exertion it was perhaps the best week of 2013 thus far.

Jake tricked me into drinking unfiltered mountain water.

Everyone should be required to conquer some part of the Wonderland Trail, it is pure godliness.

This happened weeks ago...better late than never. Sometimes, when you get past the never ending train of red lights on the 405, and the competitive nature of its people, LA can be beautiful.

Shout out to Kevin Bacon who made a rare appearance at the observatory. My Dog Skip...classic.

you have flown by. how is it that I already have another rent check due? you have brought many new projects, the end of a chocolate fast, the start of a chocolate binge, a heart shaped like a fox head, a new life to old jewelry, the overuse of my library card, a world traveler, and a homecoming. next up: March. I'm eagerly awaiting the homecoming you're about to bring in a few short weeks.
