“Six sounds perfect! I’ll be there right on time.” Maia said with a big smile. Dinah meant a lot to her and she really would trust them with her life. So spending time with them was always something Maia would never turn down. “Oh you’re going to spoil me, I see. Well at least you know I’ll be eating fairly healthy with the leftovers.”
“Well someone needs to make sure that you have a full stomach.” Dinah teased.
That evening, Dinah had everything set up. Food laying in wait on cutting boards, ingredients measured out where necessary, pots and pans at the ready. It felt good. Dinah had gotten so used to making food just for themselves, that the idea of cooking for even just one other person made them, and the kitchen, feel more lively. They had even put on some music, and were humming along to it. Truly, a rare sight.
