omg hehe i already love ur work after only reading one thing šš
thank you! this actually makes my day, thank you for the message <333
Can you have a Southern black!reader x dark!Steve (40s) dealing with period typical racism and misogyny (especially in the Jim Crow South)? If the white supremacist press found that Steve was in a relationship (even if its secret) with a dark skinned black reader and loves her, they and their audience would loose their collective shit. And the majority of all of that blacklash will be felt by the reader since racism and misogyny. After all, thereās no way that America would tolerate a someone at the bottom of the racial caste system āstealingā Americaās Golden Boy. Alternatively, the reader can decide to break up (or just reject Steveās advances when he tries to be in a relationship with her at the very beginning) cause she fears this horrible blacklash from both White America for āstealingā Steve and Black America for āchoosingā to be in a relationship with a white man as if a black man wouldnāt be good enough for her. Sorry if its too much.
i know you didn't just ask me to write about racial trauma for fun--
Literally what. š
