Do you know what happened to @just-call-me-mrs-captain ?

i’m not very active on the marvel side of tumblr, but i assume she deactivated because a) she wasn’t happy on tumblr anymore, b) she didn’t want the hassle of a blog, and/or c) it was the right thing for her to do at this point in time

we didn’t have much contact aside from the occasional tag/reblog from one another, but i hope she’s okay and got everything she wanted out of leaving. if she comes back i’ll be happy about it, but if not that’s okay

tumblr is stressful, especially if you have a lot of followers and you’re trying to please them all

we don’t get paid to be here, and i know she has a busy life outside of tumblr so maybe she just needs a break

Your body was thrumming with nervous excitement as you walked through the airport towards the arrival terminal.

The night had progressed well into the early hours of the morning which meant that the only people around were others waiting patiently and tiredly to pick up their loved ones.

You were wearing your boyfriend’s sweater, falling mid-thigh over a pair of plain black leggings, your hair messily pulled back and no makeup on your face at all.

The first time you did one of these late night pick-ups you’d dressed up, made yourself ‘pretty’ for the occasion, but now you knew that it wasn’t what you looked like that mattered.

The fact that you were there waiting, willing to drive out at such an ungodly hour, was more than enough.

You put your car keys in your sweater pocket to stop yourself from anxiously spinning them around your finger, checking the time his ‘landed safe’ message had come through.

Any minute now, you’d be reunited.

People started to file out of the terminal, meeting their friends and families with tired hugs and long-awaited kisses.

You took a long breath to steady your racing heart, knowing that he’d be one of the last out.

Familiar doubt started creeping in the longer you waited.

You’d been apart for three months. He could’ve met someone else. He could’ve fallen out of love. There were endless possibilities and your anxious mind loved reminding you of every single one.

When you saw him walking towards you, however, all of them melted away.

He was wearing an oversized hoodie and sunglasses to make him harder to recognise, but you’d know that face anywhere.

You had to stop yourself from shouting his name, running over to him and throwing your arms around him in front of the few stragglers left behind, instead waiting rather impatiently for him to get to you.

“Y/N,” Chris breathed, dropping his case and pulling you into a hug. “It’s so good to see you.”

You smiled, holding him tight and taking a deep breath of his grounding scent.

An overwhelming sense of happiness swept through you as you took a moment to just hold him, revelling in the fact that you were finally together again.

“God, I’ve missed you,” he murmured, pulling back just enough to kiss you firmly.

“Not here,” you laughed, pushing him away. “Let’s go home.”

The whole drive back to your apartment was filled with tales from set, Chris sleepily recollecting stories of his costars making a fool of themselves and passing on their best wishes to you.

You pulled into your parking space, switching off the engine and sighing contentedly.

“I’m so happy you’re home,” you admitted, turning your head to face him. “It’s been too long.”

Chris smiled, leaning across to kiss you.

“I can tell,” he teased, tugging on your sweater hem. “You’re wearing my things.”

You bit your lip, nodding.

“Don’t worry, it’s hot,” he assured you, and you laughed, pushing him back into his seat.

“Alright, Evans,” you sighed, opening your door. “Take me to bed.”

The second Chris entered your apartment, Dodger was all over him.

You took his case through to your bedroom and left them to their reunion, using the time to freshen up.

You changed into a silky nightdress, going into the bathroom to brush your teeth.

You groaned when you looked in the mirror, bags under your eyes signifying lack of sleep.

A look at your watch told you it was past 3am, and you’d been up since 6 for work.

The lengths you went for this man astonished you.

You continued to primp until you heard Chris say goodnight to the dog, making your way back into your bedroom.

He was yawning as he opened the door, stretching his arms above his head as he removed his hoodie.

His eyes fell on you, taking in your attire and biting his lip.

You smiled, walking over to him and draping your arms over his shoulders.

“You like?” you asked as his hands found your hips through the silky material. “It’s new.”

“I love,” he smiled, leaning in to kiss you. “Let me go wash the smell of Dodger off of me.”

“Mkay,” you agreed, kissing him once more before letting him go and settling down onto your bed. “Hurry back.”

Chris left the bathroom in only his boxers, smiling to himself when he found you asleep on top of the covers.

He grabbed a blanket from the wardrobe, gently draping it over you and crawling in beside you.

You stirred with the movement of the mattress, your eyes fluttering open.

“I didn’t mean to wake you,” he murmured, and you shook your head.

“I didn’t mean to sleep.”

You moved under the covers, letting him pull you towards him.

“It’s okay,” he assured you, his hand resting on the small of your back. “It’s late.”

“It’s your first night back,” you argued weakly, struggling to keep your eyes open.

“It’ll be my first day back tomorrow, and neither of us will have anywhere to be apart from right here,” he smiled, kissing your cheek. “We have time.”

“M’sorry,” you mumbled, letting your eyes fall shut. “Wanted to make it good.”

“It will be,” he promised, “After we’ve had some sleep.”

You nodded, snuggling into him as he pulled you closer.

“I’m just happy to be home,” he murmured against your temple. “I’ve missed holding you.”

You smiled against the skin of his shoulder.

“Sap,” you murmured, feeling him laugh slightly, placing a kiss to the top of your head.

“Get some sleep,” he told you, and you nodded.

You shifted slightly until you were comfortable, letting unconsciousness pull you back in.

You could celebrate his return when you woke up, but for now… he was right.

Just being in his arms, you were the happiest you’d been in the last three months.

That was enough.

You huffed in frustration as Tom started laughing again. Folding your arms, you turned to face him, rolling your right foot from your heel to your toes and back. He saw the movement, recognising it as one of your annoyed habits.

“Stop laughing,” you told him. “This is serious.”

He tried to stop, pursing his lips as he tried and failed to suppress a smile.

The stupid, adorable look on his stupid, adorable face had an unwanted smile tugging at the corners of your mouth.

“I’m sorry, babe, I really am,” he told you, still grinning. “I just- you’re taking this so seriously.”

He pulled you in by the waist, and you went almost reluctantly, keeping your arms folded as he kissed your cheek.

“It’s important,” you murmured, pulling another stupid, adorable laugh from his stupid, adorable lips.

“It’s for an instagram video,” he reminded you, kissing your lips this time.

“It’ll be good publicity,” you offered, feeling your resolve slipping as you realised how stupid you were being.

He grinned, letting go of you and stretching his arms above his head.

“For a movie that doesn’t come out until July.”

“Whatever,” you sighed, starting the song from the top again and waiting for him to start. “You go once on your own so I know you’re doing it right.”

He scoffed fondly, beginning the short routine and getting it perfect first time.

“You’re not the only one with years of dance training, Y/N.”

You couldn’t stop the smile this time as he pulled you towards him, kissing you firmly. You could feel his grin through the press of lips.

“Want to film it so we can do something more fun?” he murmured, pulling back and looking into your eyes.

“Yeah,” you breathed, kissing him softly before moving to set up your phone to record it.

“Good,” Tom grinned, pinching your ass lightly as you walked back beside him, getting into position. “Let’s do this.”

“There’s some serious improvement here,” Chris told you, handing you a bottle of water.

“Thanks,” you smiled, taking a drink.

“Have you been working out outside of our sessions?” he asked, and you smirked.

“You mean, besides the hot, energetic sex I have with my trainer?”

He bit his lip to stop himself from grinning.

“You’ve gotta keep that talk down in here,” he reminded you looking around the gym despite the fact that it was empty but for the two of you, “People will start to think that’s part of my service.”

“Is it not?” you teased, leaning up and kissing him, pulling his lip between your teeth and letting go just as someone entered the room, “I could have sworn that it came with the… package.”

He rolled his eyes at your cheesy flirtation.

“Only for my favourite customer.”
