At Budgy Smuggler, we LOVE Australia! If Australia were a food it would be a golden quiche lorraine pavlova. We were born in a back yard in Australia. We make all our swimwear in Australia. A couple of our staff have played or gone on to play sport for Australia. We even reckon that mis-spelling 'budgie' as 'budgy' and not being bothered to change it once we figured out the correct spelling is pretty Australian. We're a reasonably laid back bunch in what we feel is a lucky lucky country. We have also been fortunate to have a strong connection with and appreciation for Indigenous Australia. We co-founded Strut the Streets with @aimementoring (the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience) which raised over $250,000 for Indigenous education. A lot of the early adopters of Budgy Smuggler were guys like @gorgeousgrose, @kurtley_beale & @buddy_franklin23 - proud Aboriginal men who we sometimes felt looked after us like our own extended families have. We're committed to pay this forward for the next generation. This year we have partnered again with @aimementoring to produce a limited edition run of Smugglers for people to rock on Australia Day (or any day). All proceeds go to AIME and we are targeting to raise $10k for Indigenous education by the end of this Summer. The two pairs pictured are designed by Year 10 AIME Mentees Ashley and Andia - They're on our website where you can see the stories behind them. @Smugglettes designs will be coming soon.
