Madison Square Garden. NYC June 2016. Right before we played at Hammerstein.
Zurich 9.19.13
We pulled into Zurich late on the evening of the 18th, and awoke parked in a lot outside of a very large arena. The largest I had seen to date. We were posted some distance out of downtown, roughly 5 miles or so, and nestled quite carefully into a valley, surrounded by rolling green hills. Zurich is beautiful. On the afternoon of the 19th, I walked to the nearest tram station, payed far too many Swiss Dollars for a roundtrip ticket into town, and rode the train towards Lake Zurich. Lovely, manicured, money filled city. Shiny cars, understated old-world architecture, and an air of business-like importance to all manner of folks criss-crossing the streets. Lots of Heublot watch shops. My favorite memories from my three-day hold-over in Zurich are the runs I took up i to the Swiss hills. Surrounded by miniature ponies and delicate late-summer Swiss wildflowers, gravel paths led to forested trails, and a panoramic view of the valley below. I'll remember those runs for a long time. Also, the $30 mediocre burrito at the local Mexican. Will also remember that.
Grammy Rehearsal LA 1.25.14
This is one of my favorite photos. Sitting in the main rehearsal studio at SIR in Hollywood, we're relaxed in anticipation of Madonna's impending entrance. We spent 4 days down in LA, rehearsing and preparing for the Grammy performance at Staple's center.
Miami & Atlanta 5.31.14
Crazy, crazy day. Hopped on a plane at Boeing field at 12:01 AM Fri morning. Landed in Miami 6 hrs later, bought a jersey at Lebron's mall store, played a morning show in a parking lot, rode in a motorcade back to the airport, flew an hour to Atlanta, played in a thunderstorm in another mall parking lot, motorcade back to airport, 5hr flight home. Landed at 11:59 PM on Fri eve. Photo from backstage trailer in Atlanta. Wearing aforementioned jersey from Lebron store.
Block Party 7.26.14
Such a pleasure to play the Capitol Hill Block Party last weekend with my friend Sol. I got to step back from my usual duties and focus on playing guitar for a few shows, a welcome change of pace. Hadn't attended the Block Party itself in probably 7 years. Not much has changed. Still cramped and intimate. I loved every moment of it.
