What is this place? It’s a blog for all stuff Puff, primarily focusing on the original 1998 cartoon and the stranger, sillier side of things. Here you will find a mixture of well-constructed writings and ramblings from me about the franchise, curated posts dedicated to the artistry of the original series, screenshots and production pics, links to weird merch, funny and fantastic fanart, low effort shitposts… ✨and more!✨ It’s my favorite show of all time, so I enjoy posting Powerpuff fun for the whole family.

I literally cannot see some of the replies I apparently got in that last post, but, uh…

…suffice it to say I wonder if it’s a bug or if someone got real upset about my opinions again. If that’s the case, oh brother. 🙄

ppg reboot: we aren’t going to use Sedusa or Ms. Bellum anymore because they’re too sexualized and we don’t want characters on the show whose only purpose is being sexy me: but Sedusa is a villain who misuses her feminine sexuality and hurts people with it, she is clearly not supposed to be a positive influence to anyone, she is a VILLAIN, and maybe you could do better than the OG writers and not entangle her in overly romantic/sexual plots and give her more personality/other motivations or powers me: and Ms. Bellum is an intelligent woman whose intelligence and smarts (i.e. her brain) gets overlooked by dumb people who only see her for her body, so her sole purpose is NOT being hot, and no sane person believes this, like what the hell how are you people getting this wrong??? [TIME PASSES]

me, years later: boy I’m glad people were upset about the reboot not using ms. bellum and sedusa and they totally understood why the characters are the way they are… hey unrelated but I wonder why kind of fanart is being made of these fine women let me search for them online

I liked Sara Bellum and Sedusa for both sexy girl reasons and Hey She's Smart reasons but I've always found the fanart uncomfortable due to how large the badonkas and the...uh...dicks are (if they have that).

Like, you can make them sexy AND not creep everyone out.

Exactly. You clearly know the kind of creepy stuff I’m talking about. 😬 They’re obviously attractive characters, but to boil Ms. Bellum down to “sweet cheeks” or to boil Sedusa down to just “the chick in the underwear” is just so skeevy and so not who they are in the show. There’s super good fanart of them out there that isn’t creepy while also succeeding in making them attractive, but the artwork that does not is just so prevalent online that it’s hard to find the good stuff that treats them like characters instead of weird internet fetish fodder.

I loved the Powerpuff Girls as a kid, from What a Cartoon to the main show and the movie (I even sat through Dance Pantsed and liked it a little!) but I really do want the IP to rest in Powerpeace before it suffers the same fate as Spongebob where it starts obnoxiously meta-referencing itself and people who suddenly have always hated it crawling out of the woodwork to break the show's minutiae down in aggravating video essays.

…oh, geez, is it a hot take to say that I’ve never really liked Spongebob? 🤣 I watched it when it first came out, but even back in like the early 2000s I thought it was really overstaying its welcome, and I’m genuinely shocked it’s still a thing getting new episodes and media. I don’t think I’ve watched it since like 2003 or so.

But yeah, PPG is so broken as a franchise at this point that I feel like it’s already beyond recovery, but we’ll see what happens. I feel like the internet as a whole gave this newest announcement of a reboot a pretty lukewarm response, so who knows.

I was just thinking about this today... I would rather have only one genuine person who was into my interests for the pure love of art and storytelling (even if we had wildly different opinions but could still have really cool, thought-provoking conversations) following my blog than hundreds of thousands of people who simply crave violence, sex, and gore at its basest levels, live to follow the crowd, and cheer when others are bullied (or even hurt!) for their opinions.

The fact that there is more than one person here who is genuine, craves sincerity (while also enjoying the sillier things in life too), digs independent thought, and is just overall cool and nice makes me very grateful. Thanks guys. I really appreciate you all!

While scrolling through Pinterest I came across this, and... first of all, I hope it isn't legit, but it does have that KAYOU branding in the corner, and I know that company has (apparently) made PPG branded products in the past...

...but if you are aware of ANYTHING about the PPG's designs (disregarding this being redrawn reboot designs and the original series' logo being used for this)... you will understand why this made me want to toss my phone across the room and just, like, give up on caring about anything related to this irreparably damaged series anymore.

Stuff under the cut about me finally meeting some more PPG actors!

I met Jeff Bennett and… y’all… I nerded out bad. 😩 He forgot Ace’s name (LMAO relatable 🤣), and did not remember any of the other characters he did on PPG that I rattled off like an idiot including Dick Hardly (understandable, he’s done 12 billion characters in his lifetime, there is no way to remember all that unless you’re insane like me), but I’m gonna need everybody on the Internet to (if you ever meet the man) remind him about Dick Hardly until he can never forget. Be relentless. Never stop. Don’t tell him I told you to do this. 👀

He was really really cool and nice and approachable though (in comparison to me, the huge nervous wreck 🫨)! Super friendly guy! He also told me he loved how easy Grubber was to play and was tickled by Ace being in Gorillaz which I think is cute.

…oh, I met Jim Cummings too and HE WAS A SWEETHEART. He signed my [vague description of item he signed here] with Fuzzy’s autograph and it trailed off the [thing I had him sign: again, vague]! The poor guy was so tired though! He clearly needed a nap break (it was late) so I didn’t talk to him too long, but what a trooper. 💖

Now I just have to meet Jennifer Hale and Tom Kenny and RLJ (who I’m SO MAD I haven’t met yet) and I’m set for life, I guess! Unless I’m forgetting someone! I probably am! I’ll just have to meet them, too!

A while back I thought I'd try doing some retooling of those "coquette" styled Powerpuff Girls because they looked a bit wonky to me. I drew Blossom first, and while there are a few things I still don't love about my own retooling (maybe I should have kept the arms like in the original, for one thing), I think it's at least a little better? The biggest thing that was bugging me how her bow wasn't at the correct angle in the original.

If I decide to redraw the other girls I'll post them later!

Just found out about this upcoming blind box collection and THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!! It looks like they’re based off of the post-movie designs (which, FINE, I’ll take them, Mojo’s ugly elf ears and all) but how cool are these?! They’re actually ALL FIGHTING! Bubbles and her sonic scream! Blossom and her ice breath! …actually, I don’t know why Princess has flaming money (is this a reference I don’t remember other than her just being rich enough to do that yes I know I’m a fake fan?) but I love it! ACTUALY FIGHTING I could kiss whoever thought to make these. 🥰 This is the type of merch I want!!!
