Summary.

It was a tradition for the Serpent King to buy a mistress before his crowning and Forsythe hated it. He was forced to choose a girl to please him at night with the rules that she could never bear a child and could never be the queen. He was forced into this by his family especially his mother Gladys who thought that he'll be a lesser man if he didn't follow up with this tradition.

Elizabeth was 17 when her paths crossed with the Serpent King. Forsythe just wanted to give her broken and afraid self a home which he knew she never had before.

After 10 years of living under his roof and keeping the distance between them a secret from everyone she finally broke down with his love in her heart when Forsythe turned 35 and was ready to be married.

One drunk night changed everything between them.

Elizabeth took a chance that she never knew she could and decided that he was worth the fight even if it means death for her.
