Quetzalcoatl Eats Plums // Bugsy & ????

The morning sun had yet to rise, Bugsy yawned and stretched. He had gotten up just in time to watch it peer over the mountains as it started its climb into the sky.

With a lite breakfast of jam spread over toast and a modest glass of orange juice, Bugsy left his home (carefully leaving a note for his parents about his whereabouts) and headed to the best viewing spot he knew of: a small hill dotted with tiny flowers.

The grass was nice and soft beneath him, and a gentle summer breeze ruffled his hair and chilled his skin. As he crunched into his toast the sun began to start its ascent, a hushed warmth spread across his skin and the world slowly came to life. Lost in thought, he didn’t hear the sound of approaching footsteps…

     Try as she might to appreciate all of Arceus’s creatures, there were a few of the creepy and crawly variety that Lacuna could simply not bring herself to cherish. That was not to say she possessed any sort of vendetta towards them, no—rather that she would go out of her way not to cross paths with them at any given time. Unfortunately, every direction she turned in this forest was simply teeming with the silken strings of clearly inhabited webs, and there was no escape from the insect infestation in sight.

The pink-haired girl before him handles the situation surprisingly well, most people, especially arachnophobes, would be flailing right about now. Instead the girl held her composure, only squirming about as the wayward Spinarak scrambled up her back and onto her shoulder.

“Get it off! Get it off! Get it off!” She chants, each incantation more nervous and tighter than the last. Bugsy steadied his net, he only had once chance to do this! With the litheness of a Persian he quickly leapt and swiped with his net… Just missing just by mere millimeters! Luckily for the girl, Spinarak had deftly spun a web and caught the breeze; Bugsy’s eyes darted around in desperation trying to keep track of the Spinarak. If only he had eyes like a Yanma, then he could see where the little spider went, after a few fervent moments of searching he fell to his knees.

Not here not here… He couldn’t cry here! Bugsy felt the bitter sting of tears piercing against his eyes, he didn’; want to cry; especially in front of this girl! Still… a part of him deep down blamed her for letting the Spinarak get away, he knew she couldn’t help being scared of them but…

No! He shook his head and stood back up, discreetly wiping his eyes with his sleeve. “Miss…” He began, looking into her eyes before he felt a rush of warmth flush into his cheeks, now that he got a better look at her she was rather pretty. He’d never seen her around here before, Bugsy cleared his throat and continued. “S-sorry that Spinarak scared you like that, she meant no harm honest! But I really need to find a newborn Spinarak soon, I have an idea… that could help us both though. If you help me find and capture a Spinarak, I can help you get over your arachnophobia. Do we have a deal?”

Alpha Sun Hat // Bugsy & ????

The morning sun was gently whispering above the crest of Mt. Silver as the world slowly came to. Chirrups from Pokemon echoed in the solemn air, witness to the chorus of dawn’s awakening was an eager Bugsy; toting a bug net along with a brisk lunch packed with love in a small bag. 

Today was a special day,  for a couple of months Bugsy had kept a scrutinizing eye on a small thicket of Ariados eggs, today they were supposed to be hatching if last night’s data was to be believed! Today’s goal was to capture a newly hatched Spinarak and conduct research on its web-weaving glands, if he could solve the mystery, well, the discovery could put him on the map, officially!

It was already 8AM when he finally found the small patch of eggs, several Ariados were dutifully watching over their young. Bugsy slowly climbed up a small tree and took out his notebook, carefully jotting down the smallest of changes; at 8:43AM the sun’s light was already filtering through the leaves. As he was sketching a quick picture of an Ariados chattering with its mandibles it happened!

As if they were all synchronized, a thousand hundred newly-hatched Spinarak started to eke their way out of their eggs, some of the more smarter ones were already weaving paper-thin strands of web. Bugsy watched in awe as a small breeze swept some of the youngling spiders away before he realized: his research! With his bug net in hand he scurried to keep up with the wayward Pokemon…

11:32AM. He lost track of all but one Spinarak as it lazily floated high above the reach of his bug net, exhausted and sweaty, Bugsy was about to call it quits when, a cooling draft of wind tugged the sailing Spinarak down to the earth, with renewed heart Bugsy chased it down until it landed on the shoulder of a stranger. Taken aback for but a moment, Bugsy readied his net and steadied his hand before issuing a fair warning.

“Don’t move! There’s a Spinarak on your shoulder and I’m about to catch it!”
