Confused as to why this needs to be said but:

Involuntary regression is NOT the same thing as vent/stormy/trauma regression. Voluntary regression is NOT ALWAYS all sunshine and rainbows either. Sometimes you can voluntarily vent regress. Sometimes involuntary regression is sunny regression. You cant just say "involuntary" and assume it means vent/stormy. That is not even the definition of the word involuntary

I have no idea why this has become such a widespread misconception? Especially since I thought it was common knowledge that a there are a lot of common positive triggers for sunny involuntary regression, like walking past the toy isle in the store or being spoken to like a little kid and getting subsequently triggered into agere. You guys know that's also considered involuntary agere, right? And it isnt vent?

"Involuntary regression" ONLY means regression that you didn't intend to happen or that you didnt put yourself into consciously.

In a day or an hour or a minute from now. But, at this exact second, recognize that, no matter your mistakes, you are good enough.

I’d like to put out there. That you do not need little gear to be a valid regressor.

Sometimes regressing is watching a kids show with water and snack.

Sometimes regressing his playing Minecraft with music.

Sometimes regressing is holding your pillow.

You don’t need a pacifier, tethers, sippy cups, or toys.

While yes those things are very common because it works for them and are available for that little to have. Just because you don’t have those items doesn’t make you any less of a regressor.

You are valid!

I love you regressors who cherish fandom as a huge part of your regression. Whether that means playing a beloved childhood video game to feel small, shipping and writing fanfics with the same glee you did as a teen, regressing as a fictional species, finding comfort in a fictional caregiver, and more!!

Being permanently stuck at a younger age mentally is......something.

I can't live alone, not fully, not unsupervised. I have my own rented appartment, but I have to be checked on daily by my parents.

I can't work, I'm very socially stunted so I get picked on or taken advantage of EASILY by other adults. I assume everyone will be as kind as I am toward them, and despite being proven wrong multiple times, I can't stop. I suppose it makes me naive.

I can't study, I did my absolute best, but school is a very triggering environment and burnout is never too far away. My record is two weeks without being absent.

And why oh why ? Trauma, autism, other disabilities.

So shout out to permaregressors wishing they could do more than what they're doing now, who don't want to be too much for anyone, be it caretakers, friends or family. Shout out to you guys, I'm proud of you, you're so much more than you think you are.
