Mw looks at oscar and his eyes get all teary eyed and he becomes hyper aware of his surroundings (cue that video of oscar chatting with someone and someone quickly moves their arm close to oscar to film him and mark jumps up ready to pounce until he realizes it’s just someone filming and he visibly relaxes while giving the person a side eye) and he is so hyper vigilant and overbearing about oscar like mark was the one to tell oscar to not shake hands with people because he could get sick, mark was the one that told oscar to not eat raw fish ever, mark wants to tuck oscar in bed with a teddy bear (<- none of this is fiction btw all of this HAPPENED)

oscar who’s suddenly in all kinds of new places and situations and even though mark is new it feels like he’s known him intimately his whole life and knows exactly what he needs.

mark who takes care of problems behind the scenes that oscar will never even know about and who is always so thorough and careful in his handling of anything related to oscar that when he’s around oscar never worries like he usually does.

oscar who begins looking to mark for everything, relying on him for a firm hand and a reassuring nod and advice on seemingly every possible situation oscar’s found himself in. not even realizing how much power he’s giving away, or not caring either way because its mark.

mark who vows to himself to never, ever, let oscar know how much that power gets to his head. or anything else that goes on in his head.
