BIOGRAPHY.
annie has known what she has wanted to be from the tender young age of five: a teacher of stories. her mother sent her to sleep at night with the original tales of the brothers grimm, her father filled her shelves with books of greek mythology, his specialty in his own teaching position. annie devoured them all with equal pleasure. it was not only greek mythology that captured her interest, but myths from around the world. comics, television, books, movies, and theaters. anything that could provide her with mythology was systematically absorbed into her brain, and she simply could not get enough.
of a mind to follow in her father’s footsteps, she left boston and moved to washington to study on a full scholarship. nothing would distract her from her one true love of mythology and the supernatural, she decided. first a bachelor’s, then a master’s, finally a phd before she settled in as a teacher. her path was clear.
until autumn came. she was a beautiful freshman girl, introduced to the campus in annie’s second year. she too, devoured tales of mythology, though with a believing air that not even annie could muster. the sophmore longed to wrap her fingers in autumn’s tight curls, to kiss her light brown skin, to talk mythology until they ran out of breath.
within a month, the two were deep into a hot and heavy relationship. they were always found in one another’s presence, whether studying in the library or getting physical in one of their dorm rooms. annie was driven to distraction by this beautiful girl dropped into her lap, and even her interest in her studies began flagging, though autumn seemed to suffer no such distraction.
their relationship lasted the entire year. annie’s grades groaned under the weight of their relationship, but autumn shined just the same. it wasn’t until annie woke on the final day of exams that she found the little twin bed empty, with only a note left behind.
“I found what I was looking for. I am sorry, Annie, but I’m going home. I hope I see you again some day.”
the summer in boston was a sour one. annie never left her room, could not bear to see the books and notes of mythology filling every shelf. everything reminded her of autumn. even her heart’s dearest passion told her of what she lost. annie hardly saw the sun, her mother complained. could her heart really be so broken?
it wasn’t until a long talk with her father that annie emerged again, just in time for the fall semester back in washington. no broken heart would keep her from what she truly loved. to keep away from the distractions of the campus, like pretty young mythology majors walking the grounds, she bought a house outside of the city, up against the woods and the mountains. this fading yellow structure she called the sundrop, and in it she begins to find herself again.
her passion in mythology is stronger than ever, and she is pushing herself hard through her junior year to make up for a slacking sophmore year. her plan remains the same: collect her degrees and become a teacher. if she is not taking classes or working at her petite boutique retail job, she is nearly always at the sundrop, keeping clear of many of the distractions that had nearly cost her everything.

born into the lap of luxury in the state of new york, quinn sanders never wanted for anything from a young age. the only thing he craved was knowledge, and this he amassed a plenty. from a young age, he became obsessed with physics. his parents encouraged his pursuits, and everything became secondary from the moment he discovered this love. friends were left behind, lovers unimportant, even his very own parents became background noise.
quinn taught himself to only trust his own logic, to not trust what he could not see and touch. his bachelor’s was quickly tucked under his belt before he moved to chicago to work on his master’s. he does not make friends, not that his haughty manner invites them. he obsesses over his study, only sparing time for his professors and those even wiser than him.
he knows nothing of the curse that simmers in his blood: that he is one of many incarnations of the same soul, doomed to repeat love and loss through the centuries. though she would know him on sight and remember, he knows not that the other half of his cursed eternity is in the city, dreading the day she sees him. he knows not that one of them is fated to die at age 25, whether or not the two of them meet. he is only obsessed with his studies, with being the best and most knowledgeable, and neither believes in or cares for his own past lives.

born deep in the city of chicago to a palm reading mother, molly grew up around the idea of clairvoyance. though her mother only pretended at seeing auras, futures, and spirits, it came naturally to young molly. oftentimes she sat on her mother’s lap during a reading, providing guidance to make her mother’s predictions accurate.
despite growing accuracy in their readings, the two lived a poor existence, working out of their one bedroom apartment with barely enough money to feed the two of them. this never bothered molly, nor did never knowing her father’s identity. despite her gifts, she grew up happy and normal, surrounded by friends who saw her gift as a party trick, and the occasional boyfriend feigning interest in an ability they couldn’t begin to understand.
college was a rather fanciful affair for molly. she picked classes as they interested her, hardly caring about her grades. there was something more important about being on campus. she didn’t know what, only that it was coming closer. roughly one year in, her roommate was arrested for public intoxication. molly, who stood by her side to try and protect her, finally knew what was so important. the young officer arresting her roommate: he was to be her husband.
within another year they were married, with molly dropped out of college at age 19. though they had scarcely more money than molly and her mother had had, her husband, a handsome tall blond named joseph ward (known to everyone by his surname), rented out a small storefront for her, and above this little store they made their home.
at age 20, things changed. previously unable to discern anything about her own past lives, the day she turned 20, everything changed. rather than the vague glimpses she saw when reading others’ pasts, her own past lives came in a storm of clarity. for over a week, she hid in her room while her brain overloaded with this information. even after she came out a week later, it took her two years to sort through everything in her mind: once upon a time she was a priestess who fell in love with a sacrifice. now doomed, the two of them relive their loves and deaths in every incarnation of their souls. most importantly, he will know nothing of this until he loves her and kisses her. she will know him on sight as she always has. however, this time she has married another.
she loves ward with all her heart, and so has not searched out the other half of her tragic reincarnation, hoping against hope that this will break the cycle. she continues maintaining her shop in quiet semi-anonymity, dreading the day her other half will appear and disturb her life.

BIOGRAPHY.
rain was never a normal child. she grew up surrounded by women. all different ethnicities, some from around the world, she grew up in a house full of love, full of culture, and full of stories. the most interesting one belonged to her mother.
a family curse followed them back through the ages, further back than any of them knew. once the eldest born daughter reached maturity, the curse passed to her: a curse of terrible, terrible luck. though it hardly touched the daughter herself, it affected the people around them. it started small: a paper cut, a bruise, a misplaced object. gradually it grew larger, until death loomed: a fall, a broken limb, a car accident, death. for this reason, her mother rarely stayed. she popped in and out of the house, occasionally leaving one of her new daughters behind. rain amassed five younger sisters: autumn, river, winter, daisy, and april. they grew up on stories, surrounded by the women that their mother met and loved on her journey. one large, shifting community in that house, they took turns raising and teaching these girls, telling them of the world beyond.
rain knew from a young age that one day, their places would be reversed: her mother would come back to the house and be able to live with and love these women once again, and finish raising her many daughters. rain, however, couldn’t stay. not if she wanted to protect her sisters and the community that raised her.
the day came. on her eighteenth birthday, rain’s mother came home, and the women of the house celebrated in a party late into the night. she was free. and rain left.
like her mother, she travels constantly. she never stays in one place for too long, worried that her curse will touch those she encounters. she makes her living writing about everywhere she goes, and writes also back to the house that she misses. however, nothing keeps her stuck in one place like a story. the moment one starts telling it, she’s that little girl again: captivated by dreams of far off people and places, worlds beyond the curse that follows her around the globe.
