How do I stop tying my self-worth to external factors, and stop seeking external validation?
Constantly remind yourself that the only lifelong relationship you have in this life is the one with yourself.
If you're happy with your choices, as long as they're not to your medical, legal, or financial detriment, why does it matter so much what other people think?
Allow the pursuit of inner peace and fulfillment, not your ego, to guide your self-perception and the ways you show up for yourself in the world – not the other way around.
Hope this helps xx

the best productivity tip is actually to be considerate to yourself.
go easy on yourself when you're doing tasks you find challenging, that way you don't push yourself to the point where you lose all motivation or desire to do said task.
go for a walk in the sun if you feel unproductive. it gives you time to reorganize your thoughts and come back with a fresh perspective. vitD has also been shown to improve cognition
try to spend time in a week doing things that you enjoy doing, even if it's just ten minutes a day. what are you really doing all this for?
pay attention to your body. rest, water and nutrition are super important to stay energetic and on top of your tasks and also to make sure you don't fall ill later on.
pat yourself on the back! make a note of things past you did to make sure you're here today, and do little tasks to make things easier on future you.
take the easy way out sometimes. it's okay. you're allowed. if it's able to help you get something done, that's all that matters sometimes.
give yourself time to process emotions. we're all human. set aside time to feel the things you do, because a) it's important, your emotions are valid and b) it's going to really hamper your productivity if you don't
it's okay if you feel guilty or angry or frustrated for being unproductive. let yourself process those emotions too, so that you can start the next day fresh with no lingering guilt or anger at yourself
at the end of the day, just remember that people who are irresponsible don't really feel guilty about being unproductive. only you can be your biggest supporter, only you know the circumstances under which you're staying afloat, only you know how much work you're really doing, or how much you have to fight your brain to get even little things done. I hope you're rooting for yourself, because I sure am!!! go you!!!
Senpai says you’re welcome
Reblogging again because I just realized that if I had this advice in high school I would’ve never made a tumblr account.
Also works for most of those news sites like WSJ or NYT that only let you read a little bit, or block adblockers. Also some disable the scroll bar but if you go to the right side of the console after hitting F12 and look for the CSS element “overflow” and change it from “hidden” to “visible” then you can continue scrolling for free. Might have to click around on different parts of the page to find it, but it should work.
There’s also a Firefox/Chrome extension called Behind The Overlay that does all that with one mouse click. Used it for years; what a time saver.
And if you encounter a true paywall, use Archive.Today to bypass it. Just paste the paywalled url into the blue “search archived snapshots” box near the bottom:
8 Things You Need To Give Up
Self-rejection: Give up the habit of constantly criticizing and rejecting yourself. Accept yourself, recognize the reality of your situation and give yourself compassion on your path to working on yourself.
Negative self-talk: Stop engaging in negative self-talk and replace it with positive affirmations and supportive thoughts. You are teaching your mind to believe the things you are saying about yourself, wether jokingly or not.
Criticizing others: Let go of the habit of constantly criticizing and judging others. Focus on understanding and empathizing with them. You should be too focused on your own life to focus on ways and reasons to judge others for the life they choose to live.
Being a people pleaser: Stop seeking approval and trying to please others at the expense of your own well-being. Prioritize your own needs and happiness.
Fear of failure: Give up the fear of failure and embrace it as an opportunity for growth and learning. View failures as stepping stones towards success. Because they are. Failures say less about you than the actions you took after you failed at something.
Procrastination: Stop putting off tasks and projects. Break them down into smaller, manageable steps and take action. Develop discipline to tackle your responsibilities.
Holding onto grudges: Learn to let go. Holding onto grudges only weighs you down and prevents personal growth. Practice forgiveness and focus on the present and the future you want.
Expecting perfection: Release the unrealistic expectation of perfection. Embrace progress over perfection and celebrate your achievements. Mistakes are a natural part of the learning process and you can not get better if you don't actually work on setting the foundation.
@theambitiouswoman If I may add to this list:
Smile more!
Following these 8 steps can get tough as it brings up old hurts. By smiling at yourself, others and Life itself, it helps to get through the difficult times!
Great Post, Thank You!!
Never underestimate the power of rest
seriously. Go to sleep if you've been awake for more than 18 hours. Your body will thank you. And so will your work
