What is creativity to you?
Would you consider something like this to be creative in any way?
Some people argue that they aren't creative because of several reasons, such as
1. I can't draw.
2. I don't like writing and stuff.
3. I'm more of a math and science person (i.e. left-brained).
While the left-brain is indeed more analytical and focuses on concrete subjects like math and science, can't it be argued that both the left-brain and right-brain have an equal propensity for creativity? Weren't the left-brained mathematicians who created formulas, equations, and algorithms creative in a sense? Chemists who would mix chemicals had the same curiosity for the world that artists did.
Everyone has the potential to be creative. We just all have our different ways of creativity.
This. Always this. Pink is the answer to everything.
I am serious about this. Just freestyle either out loud (but preferably in privacy) or in your head. This is especially great if you're a "words" person. I personally like to blend both visuals and words together, so if I'm at a loss for words (which is a rare occasion) I just turn on a beat and floowwww.
Be super observant! There is inspiration everywhere. No joke. Whether it's the way someone looks or dresses or something you overheard someone say, it could be your next great masterpiece :D
Pinterest is the perfect place for storing all the inspiration you find on the internet. It's so big and full of secrets.
Soda is the perfect drink for me when I'm in a creative mood. I prefer Coca-Cola (Coke Zero when I feel ashamed of myself). Plus, everyone needs a good excuse to drink a soda every once in a while.
On occasion, your brain moves faster than your common sense. When this happens, particularly in a creative setting and not if you have a gun in your hand, just create away! It doesn't matter if it makes sense because later on, someone will see something you did that made no sense to you and interpret it to be deep and meaningful.
R.I.P. Steve Jobs. Your words were so true.
Oh, Einstein :)
Bobby Hundreds, men's clothing designer and photographer, just says everything so perfectly. I have nothing to add here.
Zack Arias, photographer, talks about personal style and the development of skill which is very important. We often forget that it takes much time, practice, and patience to become extremely successful at what we want to do. The people who are the greatest at everything, whether that be art, science, athletics, or anything else, have put much time and effort into achieving greatness.
Slvstr, a California based artist and graphic designer is known for his minimalism both in his craft and his words...
Hello! Welcome to CREE-AY-SHUN. Naturally, this is a play of words on the word, "creation." Creation leads one to think of "creativity," and that's what I wanted to explore for this project.
Some people claim that they are creative and others run as far away from the word as possible. But isn't everyone creative in their own way? Can't creativity be spread amongst all people and not just a particular group of "creatives?"
Click around to explore :)
