STOP HAVING WHITE VOICE ACTORS PLAYING NON-WHITE ROLES
stop depriving non-white actors opportunities to act and get recognized!
Voice actors often don’t know who they’re reading for or what franchise they’re in (that’s what the strike was recently about, so they’d know whether they were in a small first time game or the 4th installment of a major franchise, if they were replacing a beloved voice actor, etc.) so please don’t harass the actors, until recently they legally didn’t have the right to know who they were reading for and were usually not told until months or even years later.
Definitely go after casting, directors, and studios executives. Those are the people making the decisions.
Example of a VA not knowing (and getting screwed on top of it).
They still don’t have the right to know. They got fucking nothing out of that strike. They can know the code name (which might be a serial number or whatever) and if it’s a sequel. That’s it. That’s the extent of the “transparency” they won from the strike.
As a perfect example of this controversy, if you haven’t looked up interviews surrounding Laura Bailey as Nadine Ross, it’s worth it.
Laura Bailey herself explained that when she auditioned for the role, she was given no information about what the character looked like. It was only after she was hired and arrived for recording that she was shown concept art and discovered the character was a WOC. She was uncomfortable about the situation.
Meanwhile, Neil Druckmann revealed that they were already working on concept art of the character when they hired Laura Bailey. They finalized the character’s design as a WOC after they’d hired a white voice actress, so that was a conscious decision. He was also very flippant about the situation as a whole.
Like people above have said: Yes, whitewashed casting is a legitimate and real issue. But unlike actors in film and stage, voice actors are often totally blind to what they’re auditioning for. They get fucked by NDAs and legal red tape bullshit. Go after the casting directors and execs and high-position game devs that knowingly make these decisions.
Anyway, stop having white actors voice Black characters.
Nah, if white characters can be voiced by people of color then characters of color can be voiced by white people.

Shut the fuck up, I didn’t ask your white ass opinion and I don’t give a fuck about it. Close your nonexistent lips.
Anyway, stop having white actors voice Black characters.
I’m not white dumb ass, I’m black and I’ll say whatever the fuck I want.
So anyway, white characters can be voiced by people of color and poc characters can be voiced by white people. You don’t get to determine what jobs people can and can’t take, you racist bitch.
@butterflyknivesaremifavorite You’re being stupid. If you want a Person of Color to voice a nonwhite character, then you do it. WHO the hell do you think you are? Besides, this is NOT whitewashing because the voice actors are just doing their job, which is to give the character a voice. YOU are the racist one here because you’re the one who’s so focused on skin color.
Didn't read, don't care. Suck several dicks.
And remember y'all; Stop Giving white Actors Black Roles.

Klaus & Caroline + Every Physical Appearance
That writer feel when you can picture exactly what’s supposed to happen in a scene and then
You
Can’t
Write
It
I’m gonna have to write that Katherine tearing away the H*ylijah happily ever after afterlife one shot aren’t I?
That finale and show in general doesn't even exist to me tbh.
Clearly Joseph Morgan didn’t want to be in legacies so they had to do the crap thing and kill Klaus as an excuse for Klaus not showing up to see his daughter.
Also Feck Julie Plec!
So basically the bane of my existence Julie F*ing Plec admitted
That Klaroline didn’t happen because Steroline did

The Forever Damned Cami O’Connell
I am so sick of people who watch The Originals and have the audacity to say that Cami had no storyline and was useless.
Cami had many storylines at her disposal. It was the oversight of the forever riding Klaus Mikaelsons’ dick writers for not executing them.
And besides this, Cami was heard and shown going to class, studying for her maters in psychology, she was shown having a stable job as a bartender and a social life. (But then people claim she was only ever at Klaus’ foot? Because on most of their interactions it was KLAUS that initiated it? But stay with your deluded thinking.)
Ultimately, it was the failure of the scatter-brained writers for not creating a world where developing well rounded, fleshed out characters was a priority. It wasn’t just Cami O’Connell that suffered this injustice, but multiple others too. Cami just happens to be the one subjected to the most criticism, from viewers and shippers in the fandom.
Cami’s Storylines (S1-S3):
-The Human Faction
-The O’Connell Legacy & The Dark Objects
-Being a Psychologist (& eventually opening up her own practice and her sessions with Klaus)
-Detective Kinney and The O’Connells: Kinney had made many cryptic remarks regarding her family, her history, etc. and had shown a tenacity that proved he wouldn’t give up until he found out. This had the makings for a very interesting storyline but was abruptly forgotten somewhere in 3x5+
-Cami Acting as a Profiler for The NOLAPD
-Cami’s (dark) Past
-Vampire Cami / Vampire Vigilante: Cami’s entire reason for turning into a vampire at the end of 3x10.
-Cami Getting Revenge on Aurora
-Cami & The Mikaelsons: Simply being in their orbit and being friends/romantic towards the 1000 year old hybrid - making their if not all, a majority of their storylines, hers.
Cami & Relationships: Though this might not be necessarily (at the moment) be a storyline per say, it does take up screen time, an amount of time for development and a cause for it. The makings of a storyline. Cami was a well liked person in NOLA with the family, friends, etc. Her building relationships was crucial and yet it was underused. Her relationships with; Marcel, Rebekah, Elijah, Klaus, Davina, Vincent, Hayley, Freya, Hope, Kieran, Kinney, etc.
Cami & Klaus: They were the main ship in The Originals, and one with a natural and well developed growth for over 3 to 4 years now.
Tell me Cami O’Connell didn’t have a storyline.
It was the incompetence, laziness and probably the lack of interest in fleshing out characters other than Klaus that caused the semi there, on and off storyline for Cami. But in no way can you say Cami didn’t have it. That some of these weren’t used.
The storyline she did have was passed out to the other characters when Cami was reading/speaking her will. What the writers couldn’t quickly wrap up in 45 minutes was handed out to characters with less storyline than herself so they can have the interest of this undiscovered story / possible usefulness in the future. If Cami had that much left to tell, then her story wasn’t over, not by a long shot, regardless of the “she ran her coarse” statement.
But you know what? In the end not even those various storylines would have appeased the strict concept that many viewers seem to share: It’s all about the Mikaelsons. Or hell, even the writers, “its all about Klaus Mikaelson”.
Cami O’Connell was damned before she appeared in the backdoor pilot episode in 4x20 of TVD and from there she was damned if she did, and damned if she didn’t.
Since The Originals revolves around the family, or more aptly, Klaus Mikaelson, Cami having any storyline that pertained to her solely with only few interactions with the Original family would then become as so many pressed, closed minded viewers claim as “The Cami Diaries” or “The Cami Show”. But with things as they were, with Cami acting as Klaus’ therapist, friend and romantic interest, she is only the prop used for Klaus’ development. She has no purpose other than that because she doesn’t have a storyline outside Klaus (that the viewers see).
There was no way Cami can exist in this fandom without a majority shooting her down at every single turn.
Anyway, cami had no story line and was useless.
#SAME [x]
You and literally everyone with eyes that saw it.
Why on earth does the CW continue working with Julie Plec who cant write shit except for dead family tropes and destroying actual good characters / relationships
It’s like they had a bet over whomever could come up with the worst possible ending ever and then they said - okay! now make it even worse
I don’t know which series finale is worse. The Vampire Diaries, or The Originals.
Well the woman can't write for shit so
Dear Klaroline shippers,
We’ve been there. If you ever did the mistake of trusting Julie Plague, well then I guess The Originals Finale shuttered your hearts into a thousand little pieces. Do as what we did and read fan fictions like hell.
Sincerely,
The Stelena/Stefan Salvatore stans
Y'all are STILL mad???? Damn. Klaroline literally happened in that trash ass finale and y'all are still mad and in denial. That's some wild shit right there.
