I've been silent for quite a while... I have some personal things to deal with right now... A lot of things happened, good and not so good things. But I am at a point where I need to make some tough decisions. And it's not easy... Btw: I still struggle with the arm also facial details. But I am quite happy with the outcome his face this time. What do you all think?

Escaflowne Week 2026, Part 1

March 30 - April 5, 2026

Welcome to Escaflowne Week(s) 2026! This event celebrates the 30th anniversary of The Vision of Escaflowne/Tenkuu no Escaflowne anime (and the recent 25th anniversary of the Escaflowne movie). Of course, any material related to the expanded universe is welcome, too.

Event guidelines and text version of the prompts follow under the cut.

Guidelines:

Participants create any fan content related to Escaflowne, including but not limited to fanart, fanfiction, edits, GIFs, fanmixes, AMVs, meta, headcanons, and so on.

There are two prompts to choose from each day. Prompts are included in the above graphic and plain text version is included at the bottom of the post.

Using prompts is not required, nor is participating every day of the event. You may fill as many prompts as you wish on whichever days you want.

If you cannot make it on time to the part 1 of the event in April, fret not, there will be a part 2 in September, using similar prompts (but with a twist) that will be announced after the part 1 is over. You may even share the WIP in April and the finished work in September (as a suggestion).

Submissions created using AI technologies are not allowed! If you want to participate, your own creativity and effort is required.

NSFW submissions are allowed, but MUST BE POSTED ELSEWHERE in accordance with Tumblr regulations.

Tag your creations with #escaflowneweek so that fellow participants, fans, and the blog moderator(s) can more easily see and interact with your work. Since tag search has never been perfect, it is also recommended to tag the @escaflowneweek blog in the post text to notify the moderator(s) of your work.

Happy Birthday, Stratego!

It's Folken's birthday. I have started to create a bunch of content, but this is the first one to be done. Still learning, but i'm actually quite happy with the outcome, especially his arm.

The reconciliation we never got... and I always wished.

I found this image in a doujinshi I own and made a colored version. Despite all their differences and fights, I wished for them reconcile before Folken died. Actually, I wished Folken didn't had to die (but this is for another post).

Seeing Van crying as he realized his brother died was heartbreaking. He never got the chance to talk things out between Folken and him (even though we can only guess IF and What they talked about on the flight back from Fanelia to Palas...)

Do you know the 2022 meme's of characters that "good", "broken" or "pure evil"? Well, I thought I give it a try with Escaflowne characters. Of course, that's my opinion and can be discussed ;)

Almost 30years later, this Anime still fascinates me in many ways. They beauty of Gaea, the characters, the soundtrack. No other Anime every thouched me that much.

So... i thought I start slowly with a fanart piece. I am not an artist :D but it doesn't stop me anymore from trying.

I'd like to start sharing more pieces of art, text, thoughts, analyses etc about my all time fac anime character Folken Fanel.

Also Dragon related content, what fits together with them both (haha :D).
