So, they are not interested in you anymore, or probably never were…. Does this mean you give up on yourself? Are you worth only their validation?

If this is what you’re feeling, then this is the moment you snap out of it – you are more important than you think. Love is a sensitive feeling and if faced with rejection, it can tend to control your mind from thinking practically.

      Here are ways to deal with rejection in love:

  What are you losing?

You didn’t get the love of your life and it is okay, as it is not the end of the world. It is said that if it is not a happy ending, then it is not the end. Probably they were not the ones for you and it is better that your story could never hit it off. The only thing that you are probably losing is a bit of emotions that will certainly not destroy you if you don’t let it. Besides, there are many fish in the sea and the one for you, is still out there.

Acceptance:

As much as you thought that they’re the one and the feelings are reciprocated, you must accept the fact that it was all probably in your head and that there was no reciprocation in the first place. No matter what your heart says, you must let your brain take the lead and think logically, begin by accepting the rejection.

Work on yourself:

Instead of sobbing over the rejection, work on building yourself. Exercise to get that toned body, meditate to get that peace of mind, read to enhance your knowledge – work on making yourself so good that no one can reject you again!

Spend time with loved ones:

If that particular person rejected you, you have many others who love you as well. Spend time with your family and friends, surround yourself by so much love that you don’t feel the lack of that one person who didn’t reciprocate your feelings.

Move on:

You can’t just cling on to a particular phase in life. The best moments of your life are yet to come, in fact, the one for you is still waiting out there for you to go and get them! Do not cry over spilt milk, pick up your bags and move along, the future is bright!

How To Deal With Addiction

A big Congratulations on recognizing the fact that, you are addicted to something.

That, in itself, is Step number 1 to getting rid of your addiction.

      So now that you are aware that you have a problem, you must build up a mindset to get rid of it for good.

Here are a few ways to deal with addiction -

Either face it or speed away:

If you are too drawn towards something, you have two options; you either face it once and for all (like a final breakup) or if you cannot then you do something exactly the opposite to it and divert your mind from it. For instance, if you are a chain smoker and want to quit, you either have that last cigarette with grandeur and kick the butt away for good; or you turn to something entirely different, like shift focus on to getting a toned body.

Understand the repercussions:

Sometimes the addiction feels so good that one can easily negate the repercussions of it. Push yourself to read and research about the effects of your addiction. Meet people who have recovered from it and learn from their testimony. Work on case studies and use it as a reference of what you could possibly go through as well; things like these bring about deep realisation and help cope with addiction.

Talk it out:

Not all battles of life can be fought alone. Involve a loved one in this quest to destroy your addiction. Being your loved one, they would definitely watch out for you in case you do go astray. Talking it out on a timely basis helps you reinstate what you intend to do.

Reward yourself:

Once you feel you have taken some steps towards progress – reward yourself. Your struggle with addiction need not really be a struggle. Try to motivate yourself by keeping short term goals, such as ‘if I go 15 days without smoking, I’m going to reward myself by eating at the most lavish restaurant in town’.

Never look back:

Once you see that you’ve come a long way – do not look back. Try to eliminate thoughts of your addiction as that might test your will power. Look forward to life and all the wonderful things you will do with it. It is indeed reassuring to know that some of the best moments of your life is yet to happen.

Both of you love each other to the core and can’t wait to kick start life at the earliest. You’re probably already living in together… but then again, you feel this incessant need to give your relationship a name of the highest authority, of husband and wife.

Let’s say you’re about to give an interview for a job that you’ve desired since so long, wouldn’t you like to steer the interview in the way that works best for you?

   Here are some ways to steer conversations, and make them work in your favour.

Direct it

Think of yourself as a director and your conversation as your movie. What would you like the next scene to be like? Pick the last sentence of the conversation and link it to something that you would want to talk about.

Re-direct it

There will be times when the conversation doesn’t go the way you like. At such times, you must redirect it back to where you want it to be. Simply take the conversation forward and leave the last sentence as an opening to a new topic, a topic that you would want to talk about.

General Knowledge Helps…

It truly helps if you have good knowledge about any and everything. It gives you lots to talk about. If you are seen as a knowledgeable person, people would want to be a part of your conversations even if they’re mere spectators.

Your subconscious screams “No”, but what you end up saying is a big “Yes!”.

Are you one of those who find it difficult to refuse a task, reject something (or someone), or just can’t seem to get the word “No” out of your mouth?

If so, then it is about time you change that nasty little habit of yours as it will do you no good, in the long run.

      Understand that saying “No” doesn’t make you a bad person. In fact you can still be polite and humbly refuse to whatever you don’t agree to, here’s how!

   Body language

When your mind and heart are not in sync, it shows; capitalise on it! Your body language is already screaming out an awkward “no”, just align your words with it and politely refuse. That way, it will seem genuine and not even be taken in an offensive way.

You must, for yourself

It is unfair to yourself if you unwillingly sign up to something that you have absolutely no interest in. You owe it to yourself to keep yourself as your main priority. There’s no point in making everyone else happy if you don’t feel good from within.

If you think refusal is rude, you could back it up with something that could help the person. For instance, if you cannot do something for someone, immediately suggest the name of someone you know who could be of help to them.

Maintain your stance

If a simple “No” does not work, do not fret. The person would probably start getting persuasive, but if you maintain your stance in a firm and consistent way – they’ll get the point.

Many of us like to “play by the book”.

We wouldn’t go astray and certainly not do things that don’t fit our plans, more specifically, when it comes to something crucial and important.

      But what happens when your well laid out plan doesn’t really stick to the plan?

Stop fussing:

For those who always play by the book, it goes without saying that the change in plan is not acceptable by the mind. As a reaction, you will tend to stress and over react about the situation instead of finding a solution. STOP and tell yourself that it is OKAY. Calm yourself; focus on what to do next, instead of why did it not happen as planned.

Cheer up:

The unpleasant unexpected is often accompanied by frowns and discouragement – these feelings will tend to stay longer. The law of attraction states that you get what you have manifested to the universe; if you believe in this, then would you not want to manifest positive thoughts instead? Cheer up, to begin with!

Work on a solution:

The failed plan is not going to re-plan itself. You need to stop wasting time and immediately work on finding a solution to meet the initial deviation in the plan. The faster you work out a solution with a clear mind, the better would it be for you to meet the initial goals of your plan.

Look on the brighter side:

Simply sitting and dreaming of things will get you nowhere. Already have a job but not happy with the pay? Get another one! Well, not another full time one, but probably take up a freelance assignment based on the skills you have.

Make your Hobby Work for you

A hobby is something you love doing, imagine how great would it be if that same hobby could fetch you some extra bucks. For example, if you like writing blogs, you could find ways to make bucks out of it.

The RIGHT Attitude

The secret to wanting something is to act like you already own it! Money won’t come to the lazy; so be positive about it, do your bit diligently and watch the inflow of funds.

Girls find the rough stubble, the baggy torn jeans, and the casual attitude quite intriguing. In fact, it is more to do with curiosity rather than anything else. When the bad boy breaks the rules or does not play by the book, he projects the alpha male attitude which girls find very attractive.  

She likes to be Surprised:

With the bad boys, nothing can be really said about what they’ll do next, as opposed to the good guys, who can be predicted, considering they usually play by the rules. Girls are fond of surprises and the unknown is rather alluring.

She wants to be the one who Tames him:

It is a matter of pride for a girl to get a bad guy all for herself. A good guy is not likely to mess things up as his nature is good by default. But when the bad boy acts in a way that is against his own personality, because of her, it is indeed something she would be proud of.

The Good Guys are taken for Granted:

The unfortunate fact of the matter is that, because the good guy is always there for her, the shoulder to cry on, he misses out on being the arms to fall into. In short, he is usually taken for granted. The unavailability of the bad guy further makes her want his attention even more.

It (mostly) doesn’t last:

The good thing is, girls prefer the bad guy only to a certain point. Couple of years down the line, when things need to get serious (marriage probably), the bad guy would be nowhere in the list of guys to even be considered… Unless of course she is still with him and brings about a change in him, in which case, he is no longer the bad guy but now the good one!
