I feel like I miss the days when I had a more active social circle of people that would be on hand to send me texts or messages just checking in.

I know part of that is ageing and part of it is life post-covid (both things out of my direct control) and perhaps another part is changes in social media, but even if that's the case it's still something that feels sad to deal with.

I kind of feel like modern social media has our social networks feeling more like a web (ironically enough given online terminology) where everyone has their own connections independently, instead of what once felt like a circle where we all fell into interconnected groups of people that we knew and enjoyed spending time with.

I know I'm also feeling lonely today because I'm in ill health, of course.

It's been five days since I posted here, but that's one of the things I like about Tumblr compared to Facebook. Facebook was designed to be as addictive as cigarettes, whereas Tumblr can be enjoyed without feeling the need to post nonstop 24/7. I'll share something here, and then forget to do so for days at a time, making Tumblr feel like a healthier social-networking platform, at least in my case.
