Neil - Hey so you know the blond boy with blue eyes, you know my roommate? The new kid? He is really shy and I want him in the dead poets society meetings.

The poets - yeah sure? What's the problem here?

Neil - He just doesn't want to read like I said he is shy. Can he just be there, without saying anything?

white tained deer - very neilly! 10/10

marsh deer - i feel like he doesn’t look as much like neil as the white tailed deer, but he gets extra points for doing a little splash 8/10

reindeer - I LOVE HIM!!! both him and neil have like, the same face shape? and the big brown eyes? that’s neil perry! he also gets extra points for spreading christmas cheer. 14/10.

mule deer - TOO ANGRY!!!! calm down, little baby. maybe this is alternate universe neil where he spoke up for himself. 6/10.

chinese water deer - hmmmmm, his eyes arent big enough and his spots are too dull. he also looks taxidermied? 4/10.

fallow deer - hmmmmm, Something about him isn’t right. he looks too confident. 6/10.

elk - suprisingly, elk fawns look like deer! something about him has the right amount of confidence and his eyes are big and brown enough. 9/10.

kinda thinking about neil's gunshot and how we don't hear it. totally silent. it reminds of the "if a tree falls in the woods" question. neil dying alone in the middle of his father's study.

and it's such a loud weapon, too, which makes it seem all the more intentional that it was cut out. in his last moments he went out with a bang, but nearly no one hears it.

even before the night of the play: his friends and keating independently told him to just talk, and perhaps he'll get what he wants — but he knows that's impossible. no one else truly understood. they didn't really hear him.

just like rebelling against his father to be in the play: did it matter if he was found out anyway? he knew when he was caught that it was over no matter what. does his death mean anything if the only one to hear the shot was the very same man who controlled every aspect of his life?

if neil falls and no one is around to hear the gunshot, did he contribute a verse?

no because neil and todd really are something worse than lovers. they've never had the chance to be lovers, but were so close to it that it's going to lay in todd's heart untill it stops fucking beating
