â Iâm not the poster child for morality here, bucko. â Illyana said, thrusting her hands deep into her pockets. â But there is something to be said about lighting someone on fire and walking away. â
âWell, itâll teach âim not to be such a fuckinâ cock next time then, wonât it?â He asked.Â
â already did. â he placed the bottle back on the table, sliding it towards damien. Â â whatcha drinkinâ to anyway? â
âI'm jusâ drinkinâ to the fact that thereâs somethinâ to drink,â he responded with a slight chuckle, reaching for the bottle as the other slid it towards him again. âThanks kid.â
So as it turned out, Ezra had missed quite a bit during their little dance with death. Businesses âlegitimate and not-so-muchâ were moved around or gone entirely. It was entirely too easy to get turned around now. Which they did, and spectacularly so. They were going to try their hand at getting the bartender inside to at least point them in a familiar direction, but the sudden commotion outside was far more interesting.
âSo. Not used to those comments or just too dumb to not walk away from it? Stupid white men arenât worth the time of day. Then againâŠthat would beg the question of why Iâm talking to youâŠAh, well. Three cheers for hypocrisy.â They just shrugged. That was far from the first time theyâd seen an encounter like that, but the result wasâŠinteresting to say the least.Â
âIâm well used to âem. Doesnât mean I should have to stand for âem though. People need to start learninâ that they canât get away with whatever the fuck they want to say,â he responded with a slight shrug. Damien didnât like to take shit from anyone, and he wanted to make sure that people knew that too.Â
âWell by all mean, jog on then. I ainât makinâ you stand âere and talk, am I?â He asked, tilting his head to the side slightly as he spoke.Â
Damien wouldnât say he was a particularly hostile man- that is, unless the occasion arose and boy, did it arise today. After a conversation with a particularly charming, rather drunk gentleman where he had been told to (in much less polite terms) go back to his own country, Damien thought it only fair for things to get a little heated. While he did try to walk away from the other man a couple of times, he clearly wasnât having any of it. So with a quick snap of his fingers, the ends of the other maleâs jeans because engulfed in flames and the Englishman simply pushed past him, ignoring the otherâs yells as he attempted to put the fire out.Â
As he walked past, he noticed someone who had been watching the scene unfold now staring at him. Damien just gave them a small shrug of his shoulders. âThat arsehole deserved it.â
â Guess Iâll have to take your word for it. â
ââAnâ anyway, there are worse things ya could be called.â
â so â i should just let them say what they want without argument? â
âJusâ brush it off. Peopleâll get bored of it eventually.â
â iâve kinda had it with the â fucking cockroach jokes, you know? â
âThe more ya complain, the more people are gonna make fun of ya, kid.â
âIâm the best there is at what I do. And what I do is roller skate.â
â...and ya tellinâ me this because?â
âtheyâre normally friendly creatures, so i doubt itâd really go rogue⊠and whatâs a whale without any water?â he asked, before smiling slightly. ââŠalright, sounds great.â
âHey, I dunno how ya weird creations work. Ya whales might not need water,â he responded with a slight grin and a shrug. âCâmon then.â Damien clapped the other mutant on the shoulder before starting to lead the way down the street.Â
âitâs just⊠a lot of notes i have for my future projects. like iâm planning to make a clay whale, then iâm working on a mutant sculpture and⊠yeah. it was just important to me, mainlyâŠâ he rubbed his lips together before steadying himself and looking at the englishman. ââŠdo you still want that drink?â
Damien raised his eyebrows a little. âClay whale? Jusâ to be clear, if that one goes rogue, I certainly ainât gonna be chasinâ it down with ya. Iâll be outta here,â he replied with a slight chuckle. âOâ course. I always want a drink.â
â twelve? â he scoffs, taking a large gulp and sighing heavily as the burn settled in his stomach. â yeah, on a scale of 1 to 10.  cute of yaâ to notice, fireball. â
Damien just snorted a little and shook his head. âDonât flatter yaâself.â
âfrankly, you donât want to hear it ?? funny, because i donât recall asking you to listen.â
âYeah well with a loud mouth like the one yaâve got, itâs âard to tune it out.â
â technically, iâm taking back whatâs mine.  see this? â  he turns the bottle, showing off the âLâ heâd written with a blue marker earlier.  â have some fuckinâ manners, man.  shit. â
Damien just gave a slight shrug when he showed him the marking on the bottle. âAre ya even old enough to drink? Arenât ya like twelve?â
âit shouldnât have gone too farâŠâ he muttered, looking around himself, keeping an anxious and fast pace. âi-i normally donât lose these things, normally they just sta-â he was cut off by something hitting him in the back of his head, and then, all of the sudden, the crane he created had hit the floor, struggling to get back up. in quick timing, he picked it up and started to dismantle it, folding it back into plain paper with writing. it looked like almost a blueprint of sorts. ââŠand there we are. see? it had⊠a lot of important stuff on it.â
Damien nodded as the other spoke, still looking around for this crane. He briefly glanced across at the other, just in time to see the crane heading for him. Before he could actually say anything, it had already collided with his head and ended up on the floor. He let the other grab it and sort it over, peering over at him with a slight curiosity. âWhaâs so important âbout it anyway?â
âIf youâre not doing anything then me keeping you company shouldnât be a problem, right? Iâm Jessie, by the way. Agent Jessie.â
âDonât ya have better things to be doinâ with ya time?âÂ
