Breakfast on the first day of the year, in the apartment we are staying in whilst we’re in Venice. I am enjoying the feeling of so many natural materials in my hands—wood, terracotta, glass, metal, my own skin. The gentle bubbling of the moka on the stove. Pink sunlight.
