don't cry!!!! i remain. generally. optimistic that the robo saga ends with him still in dallas. this is the most online he's been in an off-season in his life & w the exception of him going to chicago for a day with his gf & going to miami for a day with an old friend from juniors, he has been Extremely In Dallas Doing Dallas Pro Athlete Things, which is about as explicit as he can be about liking it here without showing his hand in a way that messes with his negotiating position.

also jim nill does not get rid of guys ever if he can help it. for better or worse!! he doesn't give up on the guys he thinks of as being his guys. i will once again remind everyone that jim nill offered john klingberg $7mil for 8 years before klinger left. when jim nill sees a guy as one of His Guys, his threshold for what does & doesn't count as an overpay changes regardless of popular opinion among fans and media.

robo will probably get re-signed for somewhere between 12.5-13.5 for eight years. this will look like a good contract in 3-4 years when the cap goes up. it will make a portion of stars fans hate him next season when tyler's big ass contract is still on the books & the team is strapped for good moves at the trade deadline (not that jim nill really shines there anyway). etc etc etc.

also probably it won't get done in the next week. like i know a bunch of reputable national media members keep saying it Has To but i think both nill & robo know they're not moving on from one another and this could last until training camp when one of them blinks, like robo's last contract.

i don't love seeing new doom & gloom tweets and updates every day about his situation but i am, on a personal level, not that worried!!!! i think in the end things will ultimately be fine!!!!!!!
