i can't get over kendall getting his security to follow sophie around without even telling her or rava. because he didn't want to scare her. because he doesn't understand what's really upsetting to her, which is that her father is in charge of the news organization that empowers the people who are a danger to her. he just tried to shield her from all of it because that's how he deals with his problems. insulate yourself, surround yourself with people who you think will protect you (either from actual violence or from opposition and criticism). he doesn't want to reckon with the truth. and that's what his father has always done for him. paper over the real problems. when you see your son standing on the roof, looking down like he's thinking about jumping, you put up a ten-foot glass wall instead of trying to figure out why he might be feeling that way. but it never works. there's always another roof.
