currently I'm working on 2 different games right now (by the last petal, and a new game 👀). and because of the overwhelming love for BTLP I wanted to create an extended version for it! I'm hoping to get updates out for BOTH the games, most likely the time line will be:

getting a demo out for my new game -> working on BTLP extended version

(these updates might take some time since i'm just one person... BUT I really do enjoy making games, so I'm excited each time I work on these!)

Hello! This game was a masterpiece and I visit your page constantly! I can't stop, I'm obsessed!

I have a sensitive question (no need for an answer if you don't want to)

What if MC suffers from depression? For example in school they get mood swings, frustration, and so on

And what if that continues even into adulthood? Like they are in a messy state and their apartment (especially their room) is in disaster and may struggle with their personal hygiene

How will the Young and old Vernon feel about this?

I feel like both young and old Vernan would act in similar ways. But older Vernan just has more resources to help MC with whatever issues they have.

If this was highschool he'd instantly notice when something is wrong and try to change his approach according to how you respond, if you have a lot of mood swings. The thing with Vernan is if you're mean to him, he will honestly just take it. He's not one to fight back at you about a lot of things unless it would include somehow harming yourself and others. He'd try to "fix it" himself (which isn't healthy to take on but he has issues relying on anyone else) and you'd take up even more of his head. He just wants you to be comfortable and will do anything you ask of him.

If this was in adulthood he'd continue to try and help/support you in any way he can, but maybe on a more personal level. If the state of your apartment was messy, he'd try to be sensitive about it all. He'd want to remove all the overwhelming tasks that you may be feeling, like helping you do laundry, clean dishes, cook meals, etc.

If things like showering, changing clothes, brushing teeth, etc was also taxing for you, he'd first try to talk to you about it gently. He'll offer low effort options for you, like mouthwash, body wipes, and clean clothes. Or maybe if you let him, he'll just take on the responsibility of doing it for you.

Overall, he'll go at whatever pace you want and will def be googling the best ways to deal with things 🥸

what is vernie's guilty pleasure(s)? 👀

hmmm I had to think about this one for a bit, Vernan's never really treats himself with anything tbh. like if he had a tiring day all he does to help is really just take a shower and sleep. but if he had a realllyy bad day there are 3 different things he might do

buy a matching item to whatever you bought. for example, if you bought a keychain or new pens, he will go and buy a matching set to it!

2. eat anything with cinnamon sugar, it's random ik! buuut the reason is that, as a kid he used to beg his mom to put cinnamon sugar on everything so it's kinda like a comforting taste for him!

3. lastly he likes to outsmart crazy fans and put them in hard to get out of situations (tho not as much anymore because it started to get annoying to do all the time). When he was starting out he had a lot of wacko that were stalking him/. So he liked to send them on a wild goose chase. Oftentimes, those chases lead to them making a fool of themselves or straight to the police station somehow.

hiii, first of all i really loved your game it was really fun and was what i was looking for in a yandere vn for a while ( there aren't many where the yandere isn't really controlling that much (⁠っ⁠˘̩⁠╭⁠╮⁠˘̩⁠)⁠っ ) and also all the art is really really good and the details are amazing (especially that little fang/snaggletooth ( omg it's so cute (⁠｡⁠♡⁠‿⁠♡⁠｡⁠) ). Also the way u drew the hair is impressive as it's really hard and yours look amazing (⁠>⁠0⁠<⁠；⁠) . Btw i was also wondering if the design was inspired by a certain kpop idol and if not then it's a really funny coincidence xdd ( the idol is seonghwa from ateez when he had pink hair as he reminds me a bit of vernan and i really mean this in a compliment type of way as both are really pretty and gorgeous).( Sorry for bad English sending love from Poland)

I mean it all depends on how you react after sending it! If you really don't want him to see it and are all like "omg stop please don't look at it!" he'll pretend he didn't see it out of respect for your wishes. He'll be blushing but he'll pretend it never got send and be like "saw what? I didn't see anything?". But if you don't say anything he'll get really flustered and not know what to do about it. he'd instantly click out of it, panic for a bit, then look at it again HA

he'd be very happy you trust him so much ! though he would still follow whatever you wanted from him (he wants you to be comfortable!) and in the back of his head, he'd be still scared you don't actually mean it and will hold back on a lot of things.

Hello!!! I really enjoyed your visual novel and all of its different endings! The character designs are beautiful, and I was very happy to hear that you're planning to make an extended version.

I was wondering if you have any idea how long you expect the extended version to be, and roughly how long it might take to complete. I don't mean anything too specific, just whether you're thinking in terms of a few months, around a year, or even multiple years. ( take your time tho <3)

I would love to see multiple endings with different plotlines. Of course, I understand that you create and illustrate these stories on your own, so there's absolutely no pressure if that's not possible.

I also wanted to ask if it would be possible to include more background characters in the extended version. Maybe you could even create a design for the character who appears most frequently in the story. Again, no pressure at all! I really enjoyed the visual novel as it is, and I'm excited to see whatever you decide to create next!

GREAT QUESTION! I’ve been trying to plan and figure this out in my head for days! This is quite a ramble sorry!

I haven’t worked out how much longer the new version will be yet! But I’m hoping a good amount of new content will be added! I want to add more background on Vernans and your relationship in highschool as well as maybe extending the amount of time you spend with Vernan in the present timeline, since it’s not a lot. I’m still debating if I want to extend the endings into different story branches or put more content before the endings. (Or both LMAO well see) If I’m super duper locked in, I’d love to create more interactive features for the game as well. 

I also would love to create designs for the background character! Originally I wanted to make designs for them (Suzi actually already has a design I never used gulp…) but I didn’t have enough time since they lowk take a while to make :P Right now though, I’m prioritizing creating more story and drawing more CGs so if the background characters must stay black voids for me to get it out, then it is what it is 💔

For the TIMEFRAME on this game, I REALLY hope it doesn’t take years, but I’m scared to make any promises lmao. Especially since I’m currently working on putting out a demo for ANOTHER game. It’s been eating at my time right now since I really want to get the demo out before the summer ends and I’m forced to lock in for uni🌝. 

SO the best-case scenario plan A (if everything goes well and I don’t get cursed with something going wrong) is to get the game out before the year ends. Plan B would be it takes around a year, and the worst case scenario is I poof from the world and upload it 10 years later (JOKING, pls I don’t want that to happen). Let’s all cross our fingers for Plan A! I’ll be sure to update y’all about my progress, though!

OVERALL all this information is subject to change since life is weird and throws loopholes at me all the time. And as much as I love working on this kinda stuff, it’s really just a passion project I get to do in my free time😔 (MAN i wish this was my job that would be so litty). If you ended up stalking him he would be so overjoyed haha, he’s a little freak. It just means you’re noticing him and that’s exactly what he wants! He’d probably wait a bit before telling you he knows (selfishly enjoying all the attention you give him), but the process of getting back together would be sped up a lot more!

He’d instantly become your #1 fan LMAO, going to all your signing events (in disguise) and buying all your merch! In a way, he wants you to surpass him, but at the same time, he doesn’t because that means you’ll forget about him. So he tries to compete with you on a lot of things. Any attention from you is good for him, even if it means you curse at his name anytime he gets picked for a gig over you. 

 As for the collabs, it would surprisingly take a while for him to do that. He’s weird, he wants your attention and to see you so bad, but he’s also nervous about messing things up. So he holds out on directly seeing you because of how conflicted his mind can be.

 On the note of juicy gossip! I just KNOW he is the number one cause for all your dating scandals (bro purposely tries to make them happen)

Ya!

Their relationship is a big bumpy raod. As a kid Vernan loved his mom and saw her as the sweetest, kindest, and most comforting person (pretty easy since the only other person he knew was his jerk of a dad), so he was really clingy towards her. Often hiding behind her anytime they went outside. As he grew up, he felt he had a large responsibility to help his mom however he could, even when she told him she was ok. So as soon as he could, he took on jobs to help support them financially.

This started to really weigh on him, and he became more distant from her, not intentionally tho. he felt as if he needed to for some unknown reason in his head. Like he needed to be the adult for her in a weird way (bros like 13 chill out homeboy...) His mom had become quite worried about him, but kept telling herself that all teens get like this when they grow older.

Once you both started dating his mom did know about you and was really supportive about it! Him dating you actually helped their relationship get better because it let his mom see Vernan open up his emotions in a way she’s never really seen since he was a kid!

Vernan is a big mix of ethnicities! It's pretty fictional since he has natural pink hair LMAO + the actual location where things are taking place doesn't really exist. But if you wanted to use real life scenario's on his father's side, he's chinese+thai and on his mother's side he has some icelandic and french.

It would be impossible to ignore him for that long LMAO He'd bother you the entire time, poking your cheeks and trying to get you to smile. If you don't break he'll run to get all your favorite foods to eat in hopes to coax you out. And even if you end up eating the food (tho not talking to him), he'll consider that a win still.

Hello! The “By The Last Petal” was a fabulous game! Especially the artwork (the cgs) and its plot, I was very surprised that you made the game in just 10 days without prior knowledge with visual novels! 😳

As someone who got infatuated with the storyline please let me ask you some questions ❤️

- What mbti does he have?

- What is the name of the agency, he is working under? Did he pick randomly (as he was losing control of his self after the break up) or was it a particular reason he picked that agency?

- What happened to Vernan’s mother in present-day? As we know, we became his sun to his world in later years to the extent that he almost choose the option to abandon his mother who was still ill. By what you have talked about his mother, she is a very sweet individual and I thought he loved his mother compared to his father. Though did he have some kind of hidden resentment towards her due to her not leaving his father and that’s why he was eager to leave her for us? Does he still take care of her?

- As one of the ending consists of us going to a therapy with him, does he actually try to improve? I am aware that some of the yandere characters are manipulative enough to act fine or trick the therapists and is he that type? Does his agency permit him to take a leave like that since he is very popular and busy model?

- Won’t MC get backlashes by the fans(especially those stalker ones), paparazzis or even the agency itself , if they are spending time together more? Or does he have a decent media literacy training that ensures their safety? What would happen if MC’s identity is discovered?

- Does he have a closer friend in the entertainment industry? What kind of relationship does he have with his boss or manager?

What agency is he working under and why'd he pick it?

He kinda randomly picked an agency! I say kinda because he looked at a list and picked the first morally better one he saw lmao. It was a smaller company with only a couple of people who have semi successful. He knew that any agency he'd pick would work since he'd make sure he succeeded. He tells himself it was just a random choice but in reality he really despised the idea of picking some big, flashy, money-hungry company.

What happened to his mom? Does he feel some resentment towards her?

He does have some resentment for her since she never really left his father. But he knew she was a victim in all this as well, and that a lot of her suffering was for Vernan's sake. So he buries a lot of his frustration for his mother and pushes a lot of that towards his father. I talked what his mom is up to before! So if y'all wanna read more about it's in an earlier post. But basically, he still takes care of her, sends her money, but never on a personal level anymore.

Does Vernan actually improve if taken to therapy? Will the agency allow that?

For him to get better, it all depends on how much you push him! He will try to give you empty words honestly, and it will take a hella long time. But if you keep pushing him and looking deeper, you can actually get to him one day! His agency will let him take time if he actually goes to therapy. Even though they don't want him to, no one can stop Vernan once he decides something. If they choose to not let him take time off he'll simply ignore them and go anyway and miss whatever event he had been booked for. The company likes to think they control what Vernan does, but in reality, Vernan controls the company.

Will Vernan get backlash from fans and the agency because of MC? What would happen if MC’s identity is discovered?

Vernan would never let the public hurt you in any way; he's very good at being sneaky + has been hiding from these type of people all his life. AND if something does go bad, he'll find a way to protect you from it, like hiring security and finding new solutions. The agency will hate this, but Vernan doesn't gaf and will just simply leave the company if it comes down to it.

Does he have friends in the entertainment industry? What kind of relationship does he have with his manager?

He has a lot of fake friends in the industry; he puts on a false smile, and people flock to him easily. They never go on a personal level. For his manager, I'd say he has a closer relationship with them than other people since he sees them every day. But it's very surface-level relationship; he gives a polite smile, a fake laugh, and moves on.

I wouldn't say he really LOVED school like that... he just knew that doing well was a good idea for his future so he studied a lot. As a kid, his least fav was always math, but he quickly learned that knowing math could help him get a stable job in the future SO he'd study it day and night. Now he has a love hate relationship with it because it's his highest marks but also the most he had to work at to get right.
