Stranger Things & Thunderbolts
Spoilers for both Thunderbolts and ST5!!
I was rewatching Thunderbolts for the 22nd time, when I realized something... I realized this seems familiar, then it struck me. Thunderbolt's void is quite similar to the memories in Henry's mind.
In Thunderbolts, the five go into a "stream of interconnected shame rooms" as described by Yelena. They travel through a bunch of rooms to try to find a way out. And although that wasn't the full way out, it helped them find the source of the problem. And I believe that's the main difference between the two.
In Stranger Things, Max and Holly venture throughout Henry's mind. Henry's mind is a mixed pot of negatives and positives. Positive such as Hawkins High Hallway(?). Negative, such as the scene in the mind shaft(?), that memory shows Henry's biggest and worst memory, him killing someone for the first time in order to get something he wanted. And that moment changed his life going forward.
Now for Holly's mind — this is also a difference — Holly doesn't experience many bad memories as they go through to try and find an escape. The only thing I can think of is the day Holly met "Mr. Whatsit", but i don't think that's a good candidate.
Both display memories of a person in order to dive deep into something else. To find an escape. I just thought of this and it was an interesting one.
