Now I don’t think it’s a real pen of hope because gerson was definitely being metaphorical. But I have two ideas on what it could be. Option A is power up item that lets them run across water later in the trailer (light as a feather!)

Option B, is that it’s going to be a real weapon. Not one of hope, but one that lures them in because of their desperation to change things. One that they don’t realize pushes them further down the path of the prophecy until it’s too late. Pens and pencils have so far all become swords. And there is currently a mysterious sword that Susie is yet to wield.

every now and then a twitter thread pops up on how to spot ai-generated fanfic and the op always tries to use ‘tells’ within the writing as if the ai writes like that on its own and not because it’s scraped up thousands of fics made by People Who Actually Write Like That.

Like I’m sorry that ai is so prevalent but when it comes to fics you have to approach them all in good faith until you’re actually told it was made with ai. Because if not then you get people who genuinely write like that afraid to write anything at all and you get people who read scared to read anything in case there’s Secret AI that they’re afraid to accidentally enjoy. And that leads to no one writing and no one reading and that is a very bleak existence to live.

Have good faith. Don’t be afraid to write. Don’t be afraid to read.
