there have been whispers since the day he was born about THE GREAT DESTROYER, ones that ruby has worked herself to the bone trying to quell into nothing more than a fairy tale in order to keep him safe. she's made it her life's work for the past 30+ years to first conceal and then train this man for his ultimate destiny. his power far exceeds her own, but the way she throws her weight around at him and takes less sass from him than a Southern belle mother armed with a wooden spoon in her hand on a hot summer afternoon, one might never know how truly terrifying he can truly be... ruby just doesn't care. ❝ i swear you have a NEED to make sure you end up in the single most likely places to get tetanus and an STD just for sitting down... ❞ she rolls her eyes, but still finds herself taking a seat on the side of the bed to rummage through his sad excuse for a first aid kit and produce a patch of gauze and medical tape to cover his needle-and-thread handiwork so it stays — mostly — clean. ❝ i haven't heard from you in a while. i got worried, so fuckin' sue me. ❞ she doesn't have to tell him that no matter how grown and scary he gets, he still feels like her responsibility. a promise to keep him as safe as she can that was made to his father long, long ago.

gideon  absolutely  tends  to  his  own  wounds.      this  includes,  but  not  limited  to;    stitching,  cauterizing,  digging  out  a  bullet,  etc.    as  a  cambion,  or  at  least  my  version  of  a  cambion,  he  heals  a  lot  faster  than  your  average  human,  but  it  isn’t  instant.    those  injuries  still  gotta  be  seen  to  and  he’ll  bleed  out  before  he  enters  a  hospital  because  too  many  people    /    too  many  questions.    it’s  far  easier  for  him  to  sort  it  himself,  especially  as  he  doesn’t  necessarily  care  much  for  his  wellbeing.

[  STRUGGLE  ]   with receiver’s muse struggling against sender’s muse, sender’s muse hurts them to put them back in their place [  WAKE UP  ]   just as receiver’s muse falls asleep, sender’s muse pours cold water over them. [  CLEAN UP  ]   stuck in the same scenario, sender’s muse helps to clean to receiver’s muse’s wounds. [  BREAK OUT  ]   it’s been some time but the captive has finally broken free. receiver’s muse gets some revenge on sender’s muse.
