Let me extend a bit, at least for a single time:
Construction crisis started in Spain on 2007, it broke all the foundations and aspirations of many architects like me that had the hope of a good future as professionals.
It took nearly all of us architects unprepared, the truth is that i were in a middle of my moving to Tenerife, where i live since then. The crisis started suddenly and the budgets went from very good to low, then they went very low and when we thought we had already touched bottom they went even lower, at the end on December 2014 i finally closed my architecture office.
On the process of degradation of the architecture market i didn't freeze, on 2009 and on the brink of panic i took a vital decision:
Everyone that knows me knows that i always liked computing and the truth is that when i had to choose carrer i doubted until the very last moment between architecture or computing. Finally i choose architecture and i cant regret it because on the college i met the person who is now my wife, also on my formation as an architect is never lost and will come along with me my whole life, that also forces me to rethink everything and make myself questions about everything. Also gives me a point of view different from other programmers.
But lets get into subject again, learn programming for me was like passing through the mirror like Alice in Wonderland, everything was new, magic and exciting.
In 2009 i started with Python and WxPython, i felt completely lost and its because WxPython is a development framework event driven and fully Object Oriented and i was such a noob in computing; also the project i had in mind was huge and the commercial target was also very badly selected; i had the intention to make an architectural document helper, the user only had to fill up the project specifications and the system would return the PDF files, in fact the idea is not that bad, just i weren't prepared to make it real.
Then came Django, and it was another jump into the void, to be a web developer requieres also a big knowledge on other technologies like html, css or Javascript, it was then when i started other big project www.miadministrador.es and this one is a reallity now, its my own idea but it didn’t suceed, but the experience earned opened me new doors like my next project www.partyland.es a chance that Héctor and Laura gave me; this project is nowadays a success with more than a year online, in perfect shape and ready for online selling, i am still engaged to this project but doesn't require that much maintenance.
I don't want to bore you, but would be false if i don't say that i feel i am good for a big project, has been a long journey and i am not in my goal but now i really feel like i belong to a group:
It's been only 4 weeks since i met Thorsten and Isabel, they needed someone who had the knowledge about Python and Django, but they needed more, they needed someone who had that bright in his eyes and the urge to make something great and with passion together.
Its a chance i am not going to waste, i am giving my best so the project is a success and you will come along with us in the process!!
