Interesting article in this week's New Scientist by Robert Adler on sustainability. Suggest we have all the technology we need now to have a sustainable world and we have the ability to feed a population of 10 million if we don't throw away so much usable food.  It will mean compromise for many of us on the way we lead our lives now.  Although the article claims that many of us are already making some of the changes necessary.  Political will on a global scale is needed to implement it fully.

Future Learn Sustainability

Got to week 3 and head is buzzing. This whole subject is so much bigger than I thought. We have received so much information that I begin to wonder whether it is possible to create a sustainable system. For one thing what is it I want to sustain, my own comfortable western way of living with my ingrained 'them and us' attitudes or do I want to sustain the whole world but at a level that is much lower than my current level of existence?

Is that an immoral suggestion?

 Should I be wanting to sustain everybody in the World at my level or should I accept the differences that exist currently?  

Not sure yet if the course will provide me with any answers or merely confuse me further.

Future Learn - Sustainability

Week one of this course has been an eye-opener. There is so much content and so much to think about.  I thought I was fairly clear on the concepts of sustainability and my position but now I am more uncertain than ever.
