AUGGIE: for the record, and i do say this out of complete and utter admiration for you because i feel nothing BUT admiration for you and you should know that first and foremost, you should know that you don't need to explain yourself to me.
AUGGIE: not because i don't care about your situation or because i don't care about your past or anything like that, but because you don't need to worry about me being anything like... him, or like anyone. because no two people are like and anyone who would treat you like less than the goddamn miracle you are in the first place doesn't deserve to know you, or to love you, or any of those things.
AUGGIE: you're my best friend, and i mean it when i say that, so i need you to just know that, okay? above all else, even if that's all we ever are, you are my best friend, cadence lowrie.
AUGGIE: and the last thing i want is to be away from you, i promise, but if you ever need me to be, i can do that.
AUGGIE: you're you, and i adore you for everything you are.
CADE: this is obviously an extremely biased opinion, especially considering how few people i know compared to how many i actually WANT to know, but you are by far the most amazing person i've ever met.
CADE: you might even beat out all the dogs, too. but don't tell mazel or fievel. this is, however, not the point, even if it's a really important point.
CADE: the point is you deserve to know me, or love me, or be my best friend in the whole world if that's what you want. you deserve a place in my bubble and i promise i won't shove you out of it the way i used to all the time.
CADE: actually i can't promise that, but i promise to try and be better at least.
CADE: the bigger problem is i never want you away from me, and i don't know what to do about that.
