April 1-Kdrama with Deanna

Deanna came over tonight!!! And we chose a new Korean Drama to watch... And it was Healer!! My favorite of favorite shows. And watching it through with her was like a time machine. She was just as confused as I was about who was who and what was going on. There was actually one plot point that confused me and I've seen the whole thing! But I figured it out. But it was neat seeing how all the stories began again. Moon Ho being angry at his brother from the beginning. Moon Shik doting on his wife but agitated at the picture of Kil Ahn. And now knowing what I know-was he agitated from remorse or guilt or jealousy? I think guilt. Especially because later you see he is kind of going crazy. They really slam it in your face that Young Shin is Jian. Myung Hee is lamenting her dead daughter, Moon Ho has to find a lost child, and Young Shin wants to meet her birth parents. They also mentioned The Elder this early. That surprised me a bit. The first episode was a little slow. A lot of narration and set up of very basic characteristics. Young Shin will do anything for the story. She's dating and brave, but doesn't always think before she leaps. Healer won't hurt anyone really. He just wants jobs to make money to buy and island. Moon Ho is a rebel! Moon Shik is hiding something! Myung Hee has a tragic life-dead daughter, dead husband, and in a wheelchair. I cannot wait until we watch episode two!! Oh-there was not a lot of Healer in this episode. He was playing tennis. Then he was in a subway. Then on a bus. 🎾🚉🚍

March 6--Netflix should have an "Insomnia" Setting

Well. I am still sick. Stomach Bug has settled down... But. Ugh. It's is still just causing me much grief. And Respiratory Thing kicked right back into high gear. I coughed almost constantly almost the whole night. And by whole night, I mean that I might have fallen asleep around 4. I think. Earlier in the evening (around 8-9) I tried to play some Wolf Among Us. I bought the game back in October to play on vacation and never did. Last night I decided was the night. But I was having trouble concentrating and started drifting off--so I switched to Netflix and Broadchurch. I had seen the first episode ages ago whenever it was first released in England. The BBC put the pilot on their site and did not location lock it. But... I never got to see the rest. I read things (trying to avoid spoilers) and the show seemed great! And imagine my excitement when Fox did an American version with David Tennent! (Actually I was nervous. Cause American networks mess stuff up. But--David Tennent!!) I gave it a shot. I think I watched maybe half of the season. David Tennant's American accent is bizarre. I didn't like the lady they cast as "Miller."

March 4 & 5--Marathoning a Kdrama

Days off of work! I am gonna get soooo much done! Shopping and packing and cleaning and laundry and... Nope. Nothing happened. I have had this sinus/upper respiratory thing for over a week now. It is just not going away. THEN I get this stomach thing and nothing is staying down. And the pain-just sharp stabbing pain. So there is another stress on my trip. I feel so weak and just ill... So for two days. I got nothing done. At all. Except Marathoning Sung Kyung Kwan Scandal. I guess it was a marathon. I would watch some and then just drift off into unconsciousness. Then when I would wake back up, I would watch a little more. I really do like the show. It's sweet and funny. But of course since its a Korean show--even the romantic comedy had to have incredibly serious moments. This one has political intrigue which doesn't make much sense to me because I have never studied Korean history. But Park Min Young is the just the most adorable creature. She is perfect at being unassumingly gorgeous. She dresses as a gisaeng (I think that's the spelling-I am pretty sure it's the Korean equivalent of a Geisha) to help rescue Lee Sun Joon from some guards. And when she tries to lick the lipstick off afterwards it is hilariously perfect. Her licking them and him watching. I just got to where he has to preform CPR and opens her top and there are lady parts. He reels in shock! And of course my first thought is "are you gonna let her die cause she has boobs? Get it together man!" I really enjoy the show though and am a little sad I only have 5 episodes left. 💄💜🏮

March 4 & 5 —Marathoning A Kdrama

March 3--Preoccupied

I have been a tad preoccupied lately. I am going on a big girl business trip. I am getting on a plane and flying to the other side of the country for 5 days then I am flying back. It's so bizarre, I can't believe it's really happening. Like--what is this? I am not that person. I don't go on business trips. I don't go learn some new thing and get out in charge of it. And I was chosen... Chosen. Carl asked me. I didn't volunteer. And out of everyone else that has been there... So of course I have been agonizing over it since he asked me. They were gonna change their minds and take someone else. Or cancel the trip. And I don't have the right clothes for this. Or the right look. What am I doing... So for distraction I have been diving into Dragon Age. It's a good time waster. All the different quests. And you can send people on Missions to get rewards. That's a neat addiction. I don't really like the leveling. I have no control over stats only abilities. And the abilities aren't completely fantastic. I don't even really get what half of what the warrior can do is for. And the Rogue isn't very Rogue like. Like I am not sneaking and slitting throats. But it's fun-so all is forgiven. For now anyway. 🎮✈️

March 2-Just Another Day

Today I cooked. I made a concoction. Heated some vegetable oil with minced garlic, red pepper flake, and sesame oil. Cooked up a green pepper, red pepper, onion & mushroom. Then threw in some thin sliced ribeye and udon noodles. Then topped it off with some Korean BBQ sauce. Pretty tasty. If I wasn't so congested that I couldn't really taste it. Even with the red pepper flake. Today at work I started a new show. I have no idea what it's called but it's about a girl disguised as a boy. And the girl is the lead from I am Sam and Healer. She is adorable. Absolutely adorable. Her mom is played by the hacker lady from Healer, also Park Shin Hye's mom in Heirs. Tonight I wan watching the vegetable store show again. Because I need some daily Ji Chang Wook. And he smiles so so very much in this show. And he is doing some nice fighting. And he has had his short off three times in 7 episodes. Fantastic ratio. (Oh no! He got beat up and now he is crying!! I need to comfort him!!) the female lead in this is the bitch from Personal Taste. She is slightly more likable in this. I also watched some CinemaSins. Cause they are amazing. I watched American Beauty and Gladiator while cooking. I listened to a podcast "Stuff You Should Know" at work. It is amazing. They cover everything from Nuclear Fusion to Rainbows. And there are about 700 so I should be busy for a while. I am sick. And worn out. And need some floss. 😷🍌🍊🌈

March 1-Ice Cream & Catch-up

Thank God February is over. It is by far my least favorite month. Let's rank the months (cause why not) October-May-April-March-September-June-November-July-August-December-January-February. June is so far down because honestly it's when days start getting shorter and that makes me sad. Okay. So I only got 10 days into February before I just gave up. It's over a third of the way. So... Not bad. This month will be better. I kept thinking of things to say about other things but... Then I didn't. I wasn't feeling well for most of the month. And it was very lonely. Very lonely. I only saw Michael & Deanna--and Deanna for 3 hours and Michael for 15 minutes. I did go to a theater and see a movie... Ugh. It was 50 Shades of Gray. I did not like it. I wasn't a huge fan of the book and the only reason I went to the movie was because Sandy and Heather were going. And I thought that would be fun... Nope. It was boring. No chemistry between the leads. The acting was terrible. The dialogue was laughable. Anyway. Today. Today I played a video game! I played Dragon Age Inquisition. My character, Teletha, is a Elf Rogue (I am calling her a rogue demon hunter heehee) and she is awesome. The game is fun-but I think I liked Dragon Age: Origins better. I loved Alistair. I played a Rogue in that also. Rogues are the best. Also today I got all caught up on a new K-drama called "Kill me, Heal me." It is about a guy with multiple personalities and the girl who is gonna save him and and uncaring elder relative and his scheming cousin... Huh. This all sounds eerily familiar (Jeckyll, Hyde, & Me). I think there was some kinda of lawsuit going on in there somewhere. There are differences. There was no gorilla named Bing Bing in this one. Now I am watching "Bachelor's Vegetable Store." The lead--be still be my beating heart--is Ji Chang Wook. Three episodes in and he was just in his boxers dancing around. Then they made an erection joke cause that is always hilarious. The lead girl is a prick. And the male second lead is Bum Jo from Pinocchio! He has a weird mom again. But I don't think that she is evil. I think the show is about a guy who sells vegetables. Not quite sure... But yay! Ji Chang Wook!! To sum up. I watched a bunch of TV today, oh some YouTube (new RT short with Ryan!! *swoon* Fun Haus, Achievement Hunter), and then a Video Game! And I started writing again! And I made brownies!! And I have a terrible cold and feel terrible!!! And tomorrow is Monday. But at least February is over. 🎮📱📺🍧🎥

Day 10--Music: My New Playlist

I got a new phone about four months ago. And I am terrible about doing updates. And I am not exactly savvy about how the iPhone accounts all work and whatever. So I finally downloaded songs to my phone and made a little playlist. I have been listening to it on repeat almost constantly. It’s a little random. But they are songs that make me happy. Mostly. Some of the songs make me think. Or feel different things or remember certain circumstances… One song, “Promise,” brings back all kinds of emotions and memories. Good ones. And sad ones. And… It just makes me smile that at one point someone cared about me. And put that song on a CD because I had said I liked it. I know it sounds corny. Maybe it is. But it was sweet and I can’t help but smile whenever I think about it. “I’m not that Girl” makes me think of the dance that Emma did a few years ago as well as how I identify with it. There are a bunch of songs from the movie Anastasia. I can’t help but be happy when I listen to those. It’s one of my favorite movies and the songs just take me to my happy place. There’s also a little Hairspray, Phantom of the Opera, Five Iron Frenzy, Hall & Oates, and Kansas. And… It wouldn’t be me without a bit of Kdrama in there. I have a song from Boys Over Flowers and Pinocchio. Soon. There will be a song from Healer, I guarantee it. Also included are the themes from Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Panic Fumoffu. My two favorite anime of all time. I am sure songs will be added as time goes on. But it’s good for me for now. Secret Valentine update: a martini glass full of m&m’s. I will never eat m&m’s again unless it is from a martini glass. It is for my speakeasy. 🎧📱🍸

Day 9--Podcast: Doug Loves Movies

I haven’t talked about my podcasts in a while. So here it goes. Doug Loves Movies! It has really become one of my favorites. Doug Benson has on three to four guests to play various movie related games. My favorite is Last Man Stanton where you choose an actor or actress or director with a large body of work and the players take turns naming their movies. I like to try to play along. I am not great at it. The best one I ever did was Ben Affleck. I know a ton of Ben Affleck movies. I am not even sure why. But I do. The most popular game they play is the Leonard Maltin Game. It’s kind of hard to explain. You hear incredibly vague clues about a movie in a particular almost random category. Then you bid on how many names you can name the movie in. I am terrible at that game. I don’t know years that movies come out and that bit of info is crucial. The one that I got no one on the show got—Hairspray. I was so excited!! Regardless of how terrible I am at the game, I love the podcast. Doug is always entertaining. And his guests usually are. Sometimes the guests are… exasperating. I do enjoy it when Doug gets aggregated with them. Or when he yells at people in the audience. Doug is also doing a 365 movies in 365 days challenge which inspired me to do this. Which I know… I haven’t really done too much. But maybe when the weather gets better…. A little note about the picture today. We are doing secret valentine at work. I received a dark chocolate Milky Way. It made my day. 🎥🎧🍫

Day 8--Movie: Thunderball

Take two on Thunderball. Cause the first time I fell asleep. I am a little mad at myself because I missed out on the James Bond movies that were on Netflix. But that movie was so incredibly hard to get through. There were about 78 underwater scenes. I am pretty sure that 93% of the movie was underwater. And when they are underwater not much is going on. There is no dialog and very little acting. Just swimming. And goggles. And air tanks. And oh so many sharks. So so many sharks. Sharks in a pool. Sharks in tunnels. Sharks in the ocean. Backing up a bit. The theme song was like a real James Bond theme! Tom Jones sang a song about Thunderball. And the opening credits had naked ladies swimming around. The first time!! I cannot for the life of me remember the bond girl's name. I don't remember much about her. Except they had sex underwater. And she wanted revenge for something? Remembering things about this movie is very difficult. It was not engaging. This was my least favorite movie. James blackmails some lady into sex. I am not even sure what the plot was. And they for real killed a shark. It was upsetting. Oh. And James yet again used a woman as a body shield. She was a bad guy... And trying to kill James. But still. And he left her dead body and a table with some random people. Ick. This movie helped with some more Austin Powers references. Now I need to watch Never Say Never Again to compare since it's the remake. I wonder how much of that one is underwater... 🐬💣💤💤💤🌊🌊💤💤🌊🌊
