My first ever attempt to do a Broadchurch case-fic - please enjoy!

Summary:

29th May 2018. Twelve-year-old Joshua Dawley vanishes from his home in Huddersfield without a trace.

Five days later, his body is discovered.

More than 250 miles away, back in Broadchurch, DI Alec Hardy is quietly asked to consult on the investigation but there's a catch: his DS, Ellie Miller, cannot know.

Reluctantly, Alec agrees, but as the case unfolds, details emerge that threaten to not only destroy his relationship to Ellie, but also to drag up a past Broadchurch and its residents have tried very hard to forget.
