I’d love to follow some active users in the witch community since a lot of who I did follow stopped posting some years ago.
Interact if you’re active please! ✨🌙

IF I SEE ANYMORE OF YOU EMOS USE THE PENTAGRAM I SWEAR I WILL END UP SCRATCHING MYSELF BECAUSE OF ALL THAT EDGE
Who knew it was so easy to get foiling off of faux leather?? I found this journal at Ross for 4 bucks, had the word faith on it and I thought it would make the perfect herbiary. I feel rejuvenated for the time being and have been throwing myself back into my practice. . . #goldfoiling #journal #customation #witchesofinstagram🔮🌙 #caffeineconjurings☕🔮 https://www.instagram.com/p/CfvB4lDszDs/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Signs you are a witch:
1. you call yourself one.
2. you practice witchcraft.
my favourite thing about my craft is that I decided to use runes for my craft
me:(writing in runes my shadow work)
my class mate: what language is that
me: you probably don't know it (knowing full well it is English written using runic alphabet)
my class mate: tell me maybe I know
me: probably not
my class mate: just tell me something about it then
me: OK so I got bored and decided to learn an ancient language alphabet and now I use it to write in this journal
my class mate: (thinking I am being sarcastic and leaves)
me and my witchy friend: ( laughing our asses off)
Seems about right, but if you're using elder futhark and they're a reader they may recognize them from the Hobbit (I'm sure it appears elsewhere in LOR but I've only read the hobbit)
Rant
GOD im so tired of fear mongering in the witch community, like PLEASE stop telling people to be afraid of rocks or tools or shit you found in the fucking woods.
"Don't let others look into your scrying mirror"
I will show whoever tf i want because I worked hard making it myself
"Cleanse a pendulum before use or bad spirits will come through"
LIES. The world doesn't fucking revolve around you or me, its very uncommon for energies to randomly harrass you.
"Protect yourself before every ritual OR ELSE"
NO. I will cleanse with smoke and say "no negative energies welcome" AND THAT IS ALL.
Just like in real life, things aren't out to get you! Treat spirits like people, most don't give a fuck about what you're doing. Protect yourself when you feel it is necessary. And yes, sometimes a negative energy might randomly latch on to you and make you feel sick for a day. BIG FUCKING DEAL. I feel like being afraid of every unknown magical energy is the same logic as being like "everyone in my life is going to hurt me." Its unrealistic. Relax.
As a paranormal investigator yesssssss!!! SPIRITS. ARE. PEOPLE. TOO.
I cannot stress enough, how important "why" is in a witchcraft practice.
Why protection? Why banishment? Why cleansing? Why grounding and centering? Why spell jars? Why correspondences? Why elements?
When in doubt, ask why.
A recent investigation spot! I feel a very distinct presence at this bridge and he's not very kind. . . #investigator #ghosthunter #paranormal #paranormalinvestigator https://www.instagram.com/p/CdWLKdTuoq_/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Recently I’ve taken to thanking my candles if I need to blow them out or snuff them out before they’ve completely burnt down.
It’s a popular school of thought that blowing a candle out “blows the magic away” or ruins the spell. Realistically, I do not have time to sit and let an entire pillar or jar candle burn. Not to mention, large candles are expensive, and I like to enjoy them for multiple sittings.
And so, when I need to put a candle to sleep, I whisper to it:
“Thank you for the help, candle, sleep well.”
And then I either snuff it with a candle snuffer, cover it with the jar lid, or simply blow it out.
When I need to use the candle again, I will tap it a few times, and say:
“Good morning/afternoon/evening candle, I need your help again.”
Then I will light it and go about doing my work.
It works well for me. Maybe it will work well for you.
I do that too! I thank it for it's help always before blowing out :)
What the Heck is a Dybbuk Box?
In short, it's an entertaining bunch of bullshit. Here's the backstory!
Dybbukim
A Dybbuk (spelled דיבוק in Yiddish) derives from the Hebrew word דָּבַק, to cling. (The suffix -im or makes it plural.) It's a displaced human spirit of a dead person that possesses a living human in order to accomplish a goal, then leaves once finished (unless you exorcise it beforehand.) These possessions are always nonconsensual, typically forcing you to act on negative repressed impulses (often of a sexual nature.) This is in contrast to Ibbur, where a righteous soul possesses a consenting individual in order to perform a mitzvah. Historically, dybbukim served as a warning against improper behavior or unorthodoxy, which would open your household to the risk of dybbukim. It's also been viewed as a folk explanation for "hysteria" in women.
While it's been written about since the 1500s, it wasn't a super popular concept until S. Ansky's play The Dybbuk in the early 1900s (a classic in Yiddish theatre!)
The Box
The dybbuk box was first created on eBay, 2003. A man named Kevin Mannis was selling a refurbished wine cabinet he got from a yard sale, adding the story in the item description to give it a little flair. People bought and re-sold the cabinet, each adding their own paranormal claims to how the dybbuk had given them nightmares and bad luck.
The hoax became an urban legend, then a sensation, even as Mannis publicly admits to having made the whole thing up. He's even said if anybody could find reference to a dybbuk box before his post, "I’ll pay you $100,000.00 and tattoo your name on my forehead." Even still, the legends/paranormal claims surrounding the box continue to this day! (Post Malone even had a run-in in 2018.) Mannis said to Input Magazine in 2021: "I am a creative writer. The Dybbuk Box is a story that I created. And the Dybbuk Box story has done exactly what I intended it to do when I posted it 20 years ago... Which is to become an interactive horror story in real-time." Which, as a writer, I will admit is pretty dang cool.
Other Neat Stuff
The concept of a dybbuk box might be a wash, but there are lots of other similar legends of super-haunted/unlucky dolls, gems, etc. Just think of the hope diamond, or how people write apology letters to Robert the Doll for disrespecting him after a string of misfortune post-visit! Spirit anchors are a fairly common practice for modern-day witches/magic practitioners, so a malevolent spirit taking up residence in a wine cabinet isn't that far-fetched. It's just not going to be a Dybbuk. The dybbuk box inspired the horror movie The Possession (2012.) It... got pretty middling reviews. While I wouldn't call it a particularly good movie overall, the horror film The Unborn (2009) portrays dybbukim in an interesting way much more accurate to the original folklore (plus it's written by a Jewish author!)

For anybody who thinks they're 100% legit- the creator of the story admitted it was a creative writing project.
🪞JOURNAL IDEAS🪞
(common and un-common, witchy & non-witchy)
(i’ve been struggling with finding new ideas for journals so i’ve compiled a list, hopefully this helps some of you fill those empty journals that i know are lying around <3)
➺ divination - tarot cards, oracle cards, pendulum, etc.
➺ dream journal - sleep tracker, dream entries, etc.
➺ astrology journal - horoscopes, birth charts, etc.
➺ plant journal - track watering schedule, plant correspondences, etc.
➺ occurrence journal - keep track of the things that happen to you & others, etc.
➺ body/self love journal - period tracker, meditation tracker, affirmations, etc.
➺ grimoire - for witches, or anyone interested in witchcraft. a place to keep sacred info. moon phases, herb correspondences, sabbats, etc.
➺ gratitude journal - a great way to cultivate a spirit of positivity and appreciation.
➺ blank journal - a journal with no theme, therefor the pages have endless possibilities.
➺ artistic journal - being an artist not required. draw anything in any style. it’s for your eyes only
➺ food journal - record recipes, favorite restaurants (pls be careful using food journals for those who struggle with eating disorders)
➺ book/reading journal - record when you read, what you read, and the thoughts you have during & after.
➺ personal junk journal - a way for those going through a rough time to release negative energy. a freeing way to cope while also getting stress off of your chest in one organized place.
➺ productivity journal - an amazing tool used to gain confidence when you set attainable and curated goals/to-do’s for yourself.
➺ finance journal - for those who have a hard time budgeting money (like me) or for people who like to keep track of the products & prices of things they buy for tax purposes.
➺ picture journal - a journal solely filled with pictures. use pictures of loved ones, pets, nature, etc. anything that you value.
➺ beauty journal - fill it with your favorite makeup/skin care products, self care routines, beautiful people you admire/love (but not people you envy! if that makes sense. we don’t want to compare ourselves, just to appreciate the beauty.)
➺ pet journal - a journal just for your pet! (much like a baby book) record firsts, milestones, save a little piece of fur, or a whisker, and gush about how much you love them. you’ll cherish it once they’ve passed <3
➺ favorite’s/about me journal - write down all of your favorite things (movies, shows, games, food, etc.) and write about yourself in depth. it’ll be fun to come back & look at how you & your personality have changed.
➺ favorite people journal - record all of your favorite people and the reasons why they’re your favorite. list your favorite features, quirks, etc. about them and keep adding to them over time! maybe even have them sign it, or draw a little picture on their page? also a great way to remember/honor someone when they’ve passed.
➺ music journal - if you’re a music lover like me you have hundreds of favorite songs, and a lot of those songs don’t fit into the current playlists you have. this is a perfect way to keep track of old songs/songs you might forget, and also a cool way to share new music with people!!
➺ hobbies journal - keep track of your hobbies and interests and record the dates. over the years it will be interesting to see hobbies you’ve kept and those you’ve tried.
i’ll update this if i can think of more!! <3 love u babies
Subtle Witchcraft Tips
(coming from a closeted witch of 3-4 years)
stitch sigils or runes into your clothing - use a thread that’s the same colour of the fabric for extra subtlety
use bandanas to veil
display certain items as if they’re just decorative - all of my crystals are on a shelf and when my family asks i just tell them i like crystals! they’ve now assumed i’m a geology nerd lol
look into tea magick! tea is such a powerful tool for witchcraft and simply stirring your tea with intention can be a form of magick
if you wear makeup, paint sigils on your face with your foundation or concealer before blending
similarly if you wear nail polish, paint sigils on your nails
use perfumes or body products with certain scents that correlate to certain meanings e.g my shower gel and body oil are both lavender scented
create a shoebox altar - this makes it small and easy to hide
household herbs and spices can easily be used in spells!!
remember that a pendulum doesn’t have to be a fancy crystal on a chain, any small weight on a string can work just as well
any basic candle can be used in spells
research the correspondences of wearing rings on certain fingers
i love doing kitchen magick!! it’s so easy to incorporate into everyday life without blatantly being a form of magick
house plants can be great in magick
i know i briefly mentioned sigils before but don’t underestimate how powerful sigils can be!!
create small spell jars that you could easily hide
and remember: your craft is uniquely your own. don’t let anyone tell you what is and isn’t required to be a valid witch. i’ve had to be subtle about my practice for years and it’s taken a while for me to realise that i’m just as much of a witch as someone who openly practices.
blessed be <3
