i know this is themed after the taylor swift but there is something so deeply funny about getting a cutesy wootsy beaded bracelet at claires that says "tortured". who else is being tortured in this claires⁉️ if you're being tortured in claires make some noise ‼️💯
"i’d rather be a little confused than on autopilot” and "we're here because we accepted challenges our whole lives" as the guiding principle in taylor's career is really the crux of this doc to me just based on these first two episodes. her ability to push herself out into new waters and gain the confidence of swimming further out than she was previously comfortable with is the whole reason her career has been so sustainable; why she's weathered the storms of pop stars and the usual expiration dates that society superimposes on them as women in the world. you can walk away say we don't need this but there's something in your eyes says we can beat this etc etc
happy 36th birthday taylor swift! thank you for sharing all your eras with us <3
An excerpt from The End of an Era - Taylor Swift
taylor's analogy of being the pilot on stage and not wanting to let anyone in the crowd sense her fear because if she's worried about the turbulence then panic will ensue, and its not only her job to land the plane safely but also to manage the emotional reaction of all the passengers really fucked me up in such a way that i will be processing for a very long time
there's such a generosity of spirit and fullness of heart that permeates everything taylor does and when you get a good hit of it like in this documentary it's just like. yeah this is why i signed my life away to a blonde girl in a princess dress singing about romeo and juliet. and i'd do it again and again and she's never getting rid of me
honestly midnights the album is so real. like you really have all these visceral and deep emotions and then you check the time and it's 12:40am. like yes i am going from uh oh, i'm falling in love to it's me, hi, i'm the problem, it's me to does it feel like everything's just like second best after that meteor strike? to best believe i'm still bejeweled when i walk in the room to no one sees when you lose when you're playing solitaire to karma is a cat
and I hope it’s shitty in the black dog btw in case anyone forgot
HAPPY 36TH BIRTHDAY TAYLOR ALISON SWIFT ❤️🔥

Them being like Taylor can’t you just go away so we can talk about how good you were and your legacy and Taylor being like… no I don’t want to
TAYLOR SWIFT: THE END OF AN ERA London, N4
BRIT Awards ,2021
it’s actually so wild to think that in 2019, taylor said “we live in this society where women in entertainment are discarded in an elephant graveyard by the time they’re 35” without knowing that just 6 years later, at 35 years old, her 12th studio album would debut with 4.002 million units in its first week, breaking the all time record (and in the streaming era, no less)... “but i’m immortal now, baby dolls” indeed.
