Last night I watched You’ve Got Mail and I had the same realization that I have every time I watch that movie which is: all I really want is to work at a cute independent bookstore, live in a beautiful apartment, and wear matching pajama sets to bed. Is that bad?

I discovered the BEST rug shop on eBay! It’s called Rug Emporium and most of the rugs have bids starting at 99¢ with free shipping! We’ve purchased rugs for the kitchen and hallway and I’ve just won this crocodile rug as well. They’ve got so many options (over 1500) and would 10/10 recommend!

Last night I watched a documentary about the booksellers and the art of collecting. As you can imagine, there was a lot of footage of old, white, rich men, combing through bookshelves but I thought the documentary did a good job explaining how this is changing and why that’s important. I liked it because it was jazzy and New York-y and it made me nostalgic for pre-instagram times. It also features Fran Lebowitz, who is one of my favorite social commentators of all time.

When I think about all the time I frittered away today, it agitates me, and I jump on Wikipedia to look up famous nineteenth-century circuses.

Because we aren’t really allowed to travel, I’ve taken to reading articles and books that have a strong sense of place. I read an article this morning that took me to the Outer Hebrides in Scotland where I could feel the brisk wind coming off the sea all while snug as a bug on the couch drinking coffee.
