Day 50

Show 41/41

August 13th

Holy fucking shit I just played 41 shows. This has been the most incredible experience. I am beyond thankful to get to play with such talented musicians for the past two months. I am going to miss every drop of sweat, every endless day, every friend I made in the shower line, the catering line, in band world… I could never forget this experience. I’ve had the best summer with Mother Feather. This band is unreal, incredible and magical. I could not be more thankful for the opportunity to sit in with them on the Vans Warped Tour. They’re wonderful people and talented musicians and I couldn’t ask for a better first tour! Thank you Mother Feather for being you!

In two hours I will be up at the airport ready to fly home in four hours from now. So sleepy. So happy. So bittersweet. Thank you all for tuning in this summer to my first tour! Thank you all for the endless support!!!!!!

2:03 am (August 14th… Day 51!)

This guy is an incredible drummer. I had the opportunity to sit in his seat this summer on tour with @motherfeatherofficial and it was the best experience ever! Going to miss rocking out to these songs! (at Portland Expo Center)

Day 49

Show 40/41 August 12th It's hard to believe this is the last real night of sleep in the Tioga RV. I have yet to pack my things but aren't too concerned about it as I definitely will wash all of my clothes and sent half of my belongings home a month ago. From the parking lot today, we could see Mount Rainier clear as day. I've never seen a snow cap mountain in the summer, or a volcano in my life! So cool! So beautiful! We played at 1:45 and it was a great set. Afterwards I took a nap and then went to dinner, took a shower and came back to band world to hang outside the RV and stare at Mount Rainier some more. I began to have my dessert — a Snickers bar that was handed out during lunch, and I put in the fridge as it melted while I walked back earlier — and as I bit in, I felt a sharp crunchy thing between my teeth. Paranoid of the pins shoved inside Halloween candy rumors, I removed the bite from my mouth to find my fake tooth and metal brackets coated in caramel and nougat. Needless to say, I removed the tooth, threw out the bite along with the bar as not to risk any metal from my fake tooth being imbedded in the delicious dessert and I left a message on my dentists answering machine notifying them of the occurrence which now has happened the second summer in a row. I called Melinda for a bit before I got ready for Warped Tour Prom and then the band walked over together. The theme was Gods and Monsters and while no one really followed it, Lizzie and Ann killed it with the make up per usual and Ann wore her fuzzy, green shawl as a dual Monster/God outfit. We danced to 80s and 90s music, took a band prom pic, ate a slice of pizza probably touched by several Warped Tour pizza hungry hands and drank shitty beers provided by my queer friends. It was great, but I got tired and went back to the RV to sleep for a few hours before we take off again to our LAST stop, Portland, Oregon. I am so close to sleeping in a bed again, but I am SO going to miss playing this set with this freaking incredible band, and also, being with these people who are now my very good friends. I love this band and I will miss this experience so damn much. Goodnight! -Cait 1:09 am (August 13th)

Day 48

Show 39/41

August 11th

Idaho had beautiful weather today! The attendance was not high at all so none of the stages had huge crowds in comparison to the rest of the tour, still we had fun! I mostly hung at the RV and grabbed lunch in catering, then played at 2:50, then I hung out with my computer for a few hours outside making some weird art and some weird beats while the Idaho breeze made me feel like amazing. Then I grabbed dinner and ate with Ann before some friends joined our table. I took a shower after dinner and then went back to the RV and chatted with Melinda for a bit before we left at 10. Now I’m listening to music. Looking forward to seeing Washington for the first time tomorrow! Then Portland, then home! Crazy.

Day 47 - Day Off

August 10th

Today we drove all day in the RV to Boise, Idaho where our 3rd to last show will be tomorrow. In the morning we woke up and stopped at another Flying J where we took showers and did laundry for a few hours before getting back in the car. We arrived in the evening where we will sleep tonight and had dinner at a diner. Ann, Chris and I went to see a movie around 10:30 and it was so bad we laughed at how bad it was. Now I’m going to fall asleep because tomorrow we have another show. We’re almost there! I’m looking forward to going home and seeing my family

Day 46

Show 38/41 August 9th Today was so weird but so cool! The stages were all over and the set up was strange but we had a blast hanging out inside and outside all day by the pool and in the casino! The Full Sail Stage was in a venue called Vinyl and the Monster stages were in The Joint, Poseidon was by the pool and Cyclops was I think in the parking lot or the other pool while the main stages were in the parking lot! We saw a bunch of bands including Reckless Serenade, We The Kings, Masked Intruder and The Word Alive. Our set had some technical difficulties today but still rocked! The stage didn't get much of a crowd in general today but we got a great crowd who liked the band a lot especially being in a club atmosphere! My favorite part of the day was swimming in the pool after Mother Feather's set while we watched Masked Intruder! Officer Bradford jumped in during the set and so did Green! It was a blast to sing and swim and splash water everywhere while dodging beach balls! After swimming, we changed and went downstairs to the lobby to eat food! Then Cori was sleepy and my dad and I went on stage for The Word Alive who was last on the Monster Stages today. We then had a few Tangeray and Tonics at the circle bar before I went upstairs to the room to shower and pack up. I had the greatest two days in Vegas and hanging with Cori and my dad. I'm not super sad because I'll see them in four days when I get home! Tomorrow is a day of driving to Idaho and we are leaving at 3 am to do that! Only three shows left! Day 46 - Day Off

Day off in Vegas August 8th I didn't fall off the bunk last night but I did ditch the bus at 5 am to uber into the strip to the Hard Rock hotel! The bus stopped at a truck wash so I left while the sun wasn't even out and I got to the hotel around 5:30 and slept till noon! It felt so good to stay in a real bed! My dad and Cori and I spent the afternoon in the pool at the hotel and had some Piña coladas and some food and then we got ready and my dad took us to Love, The Beatles show at The Mirage! Then he showed us Cesar's Palace and we walked around and then went to The Bellagio before we made our way back to the hotel to sleep. Tomorrow I have my show and I'm looking forward to playing inside! Goodnight! -Cait

Day 45

Show 37/41 August 7th Today we were in Pamona, CA outside of LA. I woke up in the morning and realized, I've played here before! About six years ago after Kicking Daisies won Disney's Next Big Thing, we opened for Victoria Justice at the LA County Fair. Today the venue was here and it was pretty cool to see the giant bleacher seats that were filled six years ago with screaming fans. I spent most of the day at the tent and watched some new bands as well as some catering bands that I'm friends with including Life On The Sideline from CT who have been following this tour since the beginning and finally got to play on the Ernie Ball stage today! We played at 4:20 and had a pretty big crowd. It was a great show and my childhood friend, Zakk came out to see it! He and I haven't seen each other since we last did in Philly about four years ago. Since then, Zakk has moved to LA and is producing bands like Blink 182, All Time Low, Good Charlotte and Sleeping With Sirens. I couldn't be more excited and happy for him to have followed his dreams! We got to catch up and watch some bands after my set and ended the night in band world talking to/meeting some of his friends on tour. In n Out catered again but I didn't get any this time since I was full and the line was so long forever. I hung out with Lizzie for a bit, then some friends and then I packed up because I am staying on another bus tonight to get to Las Vegas early since MF is spending the day off in LA. Tomorrow I will see my sister and my dad and I'm so excited to see Vegas for the first time! I'm gonna try to get sleep now on this couch that converted into a middle row bunk about five feet off the ground and I'm scared to fall off! Goodnight! -Cait

My dad and sister came out to Las Vegas to see me at @vanswarpedtour! Great day off with them on the strip, and awesome day today at the show. Only 3 shows left and I'm back conquering Boston with my @melindafreund before we head to our next adventure in a few months! (at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas)
