About my OCs!! - (Abel, Perle, Loui, and Trevor)
These little guys are a part of my little writing passion project, 'BUGGED.' 🦗
They all live in Michigan, USA, in the 90s.
He loves entomology (not as a job but just a hobby), although his dream job is definitely an entomologist. He obsesses over documenting, taxidermy, and observation the most.
He is a Christian - not a completely devout one, though, as in my story, he does a pretty creepy thing. I don't wanna give it away, but it's basically 'secret human documentation' on, well, you could probably guess who.
His favorite bug(s) of all time are Katydid's (specifically the ones that make that little whistling noise with their back.)
His favorite musicians are: George Harrison and Bread.
He is 6'4 and is the tallest in the friend group.
He works at a Dollar General and does paid gardening on the side.
He looks like William Finley + No glasses (but keep the small eyes he has with them on)
Both of his parents are Christians (Christianity was heavily pushed on Abel, that's mainly why he feels like he MUST be a 'good man')
Abel has a permanent upper lip that always sags to his lower lip, often making his breathing heavy and causing him to stutter and sometimes spit while talking.
Sometimes he unintentionally doesn't eat much.
He often, in silence, has frequent intrusive sexual thoughts with Perle and insects in them, while others are urges to squish his own bugs when he never would.
She works as a babysitter (she babysits a kid named Denis mainly) for her next-door neighbors and is a Medical Receptionist.
She looks like Liza Minnelli + Shelley Duvall (She mainly has her voice + she is also curvy)
She is 5'4 and the shortest in the friend group.
She doesn't really like bugs, but she can tolerate them for Abel - She prefers bugs when Abel's around.
She and Abel share a house - they are housemates, but Abel, by his own accord, pays for most of the rent.
She loves apples, specifically fresh red ones, apple pie, and she also loves it when Abel picks apples with/for her.
She sees Loui as a big brother (that she never had) - she only has a father. Her mother left when Perle was in high school.
Her favorite musicians are: Glen Campbell (her dad was really into his music), LAKE (later on), and anything Judy Garland sings.
Perle had a very (very) abusive ex that would often physically, emotionally, and sexually injure her. (She left after 3 months in their relationship. Loui, Trevor, and Abel only saw him once ~ they all hated him.)
Perle often thinks she looks creepy, which often causes her to wear dresses and things in a more sexual way than she is actually comfortable with.
His favorite musicians are Led Zeppelin and Madness.
He works at a CD/Records store and does occasional odd jobs for money. (He often struggles with money because of his spending habits. He spends his money mainly on alcohol/spirits and records. He also frequently, of his own accord, buys things for his friends)
He originally introduced Abel to Perle.
He lives alone at a trailer park because his parents kicked him out (His parents used to beat him both as a kid and a teenager)
He is often seen as the goof or jokester of the friendgroup but he frequently has his serious moments depending on his mood. (His happiness can often fluctuate)
He can't drive and doesn't plan on learning to. He says driving makes him dizzy. (He's fine with walking everywhere, but most of the time Abel drives him places anyway)
He views religion as "Just another way to instil fake hope," and frequently pushes back on Abel's religious beliefs.
He gets drunk frequently alone, but sometimes he visits Trevor, Abel, or Perle when drunk. Trevor is usually the one who supports him while he's drunk.
Loui hates any sexual joke directed at himself.
He works an office job and frequently sells what he hunts for money.
He hunts frequently (depends on the season), and he also loves moose!
He is 6'0 and the second tallest.
His favorite musicians are: Led Zeppelin (He introduced Loui to them) and Smash Mouth.
He is Christian as well, but not as devout as Abel. (He rarely goes to Church but occasionally reads the Bible in his free time)
He has extensive knowledge of different types of conifers, forest plants, and hunting parks.
He actually believes in Bigfoot, even if he doesn't want to admit it.
He also has an axe he takes almost everywhere. (Once he even threatened Loui with it while he was drunk because he was getting on his nerves)
Trevor sees Abel as someone to 'protect,' often seeing Abel as very kind and sweet.
Trevor can get angry really fast.
