āFrom Home,ā the latest studio album from Caleb and Lane, is available now wherever you listen to music. This brand-new project featuring 9 tracks is the 7th full length release from Caleb and Lane. The band is excited to release several new songs, some reimagined familiar favorites, and a cover of the meaningful anthem, Youāll Never Walk Alone.Ā
Where did it start?
In early 2020 the world shut down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. During that time Caleb and Lane, taking advantage of the time they had, began recording these songs from their homes. Caleb recorded acoustic guitars and some rough vocals in his home in New York and Lane began recording electric guitars and bass in his home in Louisiana. As time went on, they enlisted the help of Jesse Sprinkle to record the remainder of the album at Bluebrick Studios.
The album evolved from an acoustic album to a blend of acoustic sounds, ambient textures, and rock. The hope has been to deliver an album that would help people during such a crazy time, though weāre now in 2021 it seems like the challenges we began facing in early 2020 will be with us for a while. Let these songs encourage you to look above the trials and look to Christ, our greater hope.

Thank You
2020 presented us with difficulties that we never thought we'd live with. As we found ourselves at home for extended periods of time we begin to work on these songs. Some are old and some are new, either way we hope that they bring a little joy to you in the midst of difficult days.
Thank you for supporting Caleb and Lane.

I hope it's a pleasant surprise for you, we've put a lot of work into this song and we're super excited by how it turned out. Since we (the Berg's) moved to New York, Lane and I have struggled with how we'd work on music. Being separated by almost 1400 miles is a challenge to get together to write, play, and record music. This song, Restless, is our first attempt at some transcontinental music.

Where'd this song come from?
I'm glad I asked. This song has been around for a little while. In fact I started working on it before we moved. It was a rainy day in June 2017, well most likely it was rainy, it was in Baton Rouge after all. It had been a confusing couple of months as the job search in New York just wasn't turning up anything. During the whole process we had the mindset that if God willed we'd be there if not we wouldn't. So we trusted the Lord. Yet even when you are trusting there are times when you feel restless or a bit shaky. That's where I was, believing but still feeling the wind and waves.
I wrote down the lyrics to the song because it's what I was feeling. I knew despite how I was feeling and the thoughts that kept coming that God was going to work everything out because He always had and His Word shows us that He will (Romans 8:28; Jeremiah 29:11; Philippians 4:6-7). For me the part of the song that speaks the most to what I was feeling is the bridge. Maybe to some weād look a little crazy following the path God had laid out. The reality is sometimes in the moment you donāt really understand it. So the bridge sings my heart, even if you don't and it all falls apart I'll trust you. If I look crazy I'll walk boldly. I knew that if this was just my plans and they fell apart that God would still be good. So as long as He is with me I'm going to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
The New Process
So then life happened and the Lord lined up everything when it needed to be lined up and we ended up in New York. The rest of our time in Baton Rouge was full of some joy, sadness, mourning, and farewells but now that we were up in New York I wasn't sure how Lane and I would record music. After our last album, Six, I wasn't even sure I had it in me to record anything. The process on recording Six left me a bit burnt out. Two years is a long time to put together an album. The day after we released Six I said to Chanel and to Lane āI think Iām over music.ā That seemed to last for about a week before I wrote something new but I was still worn out. So again things would have to line up perfectly for it to happen.
In January (2019) I found myself looking for some extra side work. I reached out to a pretty rad guy, Jesse Sprinkle, I knew was in the area but I had never met this fella. He owns a recording studio and I emailed him to see if he needed any help. We got together and connected immediately. It's funny because I think even now we're not totally sure why God brought our paths together, we'll figure that out eventually I'm sure. So I started helping out Jesse and we had lots of conversations about music and life. I started to get the itch again to get some music out. The problem is the songs I'd been sitting on didn't feel complete. Lane and I had only worked on a few things but the only one near complete was Restless. So we decided to just go with it, not force an album out but track what we had, one song.
So the song has sort of grown and morphed a bit over the process but what you hear is the song as it was always meant to be. There's a progression to it. It grows and develops as you listen and reminds me a lot of the Psalms.
Lane and I are super excited about this song. It came together beautifully and we think youāre gonna love it. It definitely feels like it has sparked some creativity in us and we hope to put more out soon. Weāre excited to work with Jesse some more and see what happens.Ā
I want to thank everyone reading this, those who have downloaded, streamed, or whatever else there is to hear this song. I want to thank Lane for working so hard on this tune despite the mixed emotions of being separated for the time being, our journey is crazy but it ain't over my brutha. I want to thank Jesse for producing and giving this song vision and for laying down the sweet beats as well as just being a great friend in the midst of a crazy season. I want to thank Nate for the great B3 and strings, it just rounds out the song, I've enjoyed getting to work with you and can't wait to see what's in store. Last but not least, thank you to Chanel, Olive, and Chela for always putting up with crazy musicians who spend lots of time to make music. We love you!
Restless
Verse 1:
I am restless
Wandering in the night
I feel wasted, spent in this fight
Where are you,
When the sun begins to set?
Iāve followed you against the flow
And Iām going under
Chorus 1:
Speak to my troubled heart
Iām shaking
Iām unsettled, unsteady
Iām roving in the dark
Iām stumbling
But I am trusting, you wonāt leave me
Verse 2:
I keep on asking
Hoping to hear your voice
Am I alone here? Did I miss you in the noise?
Where are you when I lose my courage?
Iāve come all this way
Did I miss my turn somewhere?
Bridge:
Even if you donāt
And it all falls apart
I will trust you in my biggest storm
And if I look crazy
I will walk boldly
As long as you are with me
Outro:
You spoke to my troubled heart
And assured me
You are faithful
