On a walk through Newtown, I found a @doughnut_time store and I had to try a Veruca Salt (sea salt caramel) #doughnut. I read an article about them and their high quality artisanal fare and knew I had to sample one. It was delicious and definitely shareable. #Food post from #Cairns #australia. I had a good bit of tucker last night at the highly recommended restaurant Ochre specializing in local, contemporary, Australian fare. I ordered the three course set menu with a glass of white Sauvignon blanc wine for the entree (starter or appetizer) and a red Grenache Shiraz for the main course & dessert. Fresh bread with local seeds and seasonings and olive oil; pork belly and scallops on a creamy parsnip purée with balsamic glaze; kangaroo filet with bok choy and a sweet potato fritter; and my beloved pavlova with a nut creme layer, almond cracker cookies, and a plum sorbet and a mango coulis. I ate way too much and loved it. (at Ochre Restaurant)
