Will I ever become active on this blog again? I really want to maybe this weekend I’ll work on a revamp.
Oops, it’s been a minute. And by a minute I mean 5 months.
callieforniawrites:
Hi guys, I somehow have new followers.
Sorry I’ve been MIA I started a new job about a month ago and we got a new puppy around the same time so I’ve been busy. I am thinking of revamping my page eventually.
I’ll be getting to replies in the next few days, not that i have many to do. @mcrlinn is like the only one I’m writing with on here *sad face*.
Sad face cuz I want more writing partners so if you’re interested like this post or message me. I respond faster on discord but I’m trying to be better on here.
Discord: callieforniagirl#9051 just let me know who you are on Tumblr so I know!
Not me disappearing for two weeks before actually replying to my threads.
Anyways, I’m gonna work on revamping this blog tonight. Will I finish it? No. Will it be finished any time soon? Probably not. So excuse the mess that this blog will be for the time being.

“Honestly, I hope my metabolism never slows down or I might be fucked, although I get the feeling people trust fat pastry chefs more than thin ones.” She joked, imagining all the cartoons she’d see growing up. Chefs and bakers were always on the bigger side as some physical reminder they made food. Kind of fucked up. Slowly walking towards the one box she’d pointed out, Eloise started opening it up and pulling out miscellaneous kitchen utensils. “So, should I be worried about this soundproofing thing? You’re not, like, a serial killer are you?”
“A pastry chef? Is that what you do?” Jude felt like it was a silly question because why would she say something like that if she wasn’t a pastry chef. Silly question or not, he tried not to assume things even if it seemed obvious. “I wouldn’t trust a chef more based on their weight. Seems silly, anyone could be good at cooking. Anyone that isn’t me.” He added on with laugh. Jude went to another kitchen box and started going through that one, thinking of where to put things. “A serial killer to the ears maybe...” He laughed again. “I’m a music teacher and I hold some of my private lessons where I live.”

“An IT consultant, sounds riveting.” Josh liked computers as much as the next person but tech had never been his forte, he was more hands on. At the same time, he fully respected it. Hell, there were plenty of jobs he’d been a part of that would have fallen apart if not for their hacker. “You always interrogate people when you meet them?” He asked, not all that bothered by it but he wasn’t used to someone poking around so much. He kept to the shadows and to himself for the most part, not opening up much until he knew someone well.
Davina’s lips curled into a small half smile at what she thought was sarcasm. There were two main reactions to people finding out she was in IT. One was similar to his, sarcasm as the other person probably finds it boring or simply is just not skilled with computers and the ever growing technology in today’s world. The second one was a mix of shock and disbelief because the person thinks the only people who can get into IT are nerds and male, no one that looks like her. “Sorry,” She pushed some strands of hair behind her ear. “I’m an overly curious person and I guess my people skills aren’t as great as my computer skills.”

Bella was moments from some kind of retort but uncharacteristically stopped herself because, whether or not she wanted to agree, he was right. Her taste in men had always been trash but she was trying to work on it ( not hard, but still ). “Know any good ones?” she asked, raising her brows before taking a long drink from her glass. “You might be more competent,” she acquiesced with a nod, “that doesn’t mean you automatically are closer to winning but fine, fine. Because I like you, I’ll give you ten percent more of a chance.” Which brought his total to a whopping twenty percent. “You know I can’t help me. Me and cocky go hand in hand.”
Holden was close to teasing her how he would never subject his friends to a relationship with her but held himself back. None of his friends were single anyway and referring any clients to her would just seem unethical. “Wow twenty percent. I guess I should be a little honored. I expected you to have me in the negatives.” He chuckled. “True, if you look up cocky in the dictionary there’s a picture of you as the definition.”

No matter what Connor said to her, James knew it wasn’t going to be what she wanted to hear. What she wanted was for him to take it back, tell her he loved her more than anything in the world and wanted to get married tomorrow. But even she could pull herself out of the clouds long enough to know that wouldn’t happen. That wasn’t what he wanted and it was starting to look like she wasn’t going to get what she wanted for once in her life. To say she didn’t like it was a vast understatement. “Fair? What do you mean fair?” It had never occurred to her that their relationship not being fair could possibly be a thing. As far as she was concerned, their relationship had been perfect. But she was starting to see that was childish. James lived in a glass castle her whole life, everything pristine and the way it should be, her parents had made sure she never saw the cracks but here he was, pointing them out. Someone had to. “What are you talking about? Are you - do you not - what are you talking about?”
Connor shook his head, running his fingers through his hair. Of course she didn’t understand, her definition fair was either non existent or completely wrong. For as long as he had known her, James always got her way and a lot of the time he let it happen. I mean if he didn’t they wouldn’t be where they were right now, he wouldn’t thinking about all the what if’s and he wouldn’t be hurting her. “Fair, you know, equal parts give and take.” He knew he was opening a big can of worms, hell it had opened it as soon as this conversation started. “Do you think our relationship is fair?” He asked once more. “Do you think you give as much I do, take as much as I do. To make a relationship work there is compromise, I know that but I’ve made the mistake of thinking what I’ve done all these years is compromising. All I’ve done is concede to what you’ve wanted.” He tried his best to make the words not sound as harsh as they probably were, but he wasn’t sure how else to express how thoughts.

The guilt Eloise had felt when she first started talking to him after pretty much yelling at him for being loud was starting to fade away when it became clear he wasn’t really holding it against her. Plus, he was reacting to Dragon Palace in the absolute correct way, so he was getting bonus points for that. “You don’t wait around, do you?” she teased, walking towards him as the phone started ringing. It was no surprise to her that the place sounded insanely busy, it was the best Chinese place around by miles. With every item he listed off, Eloise was getting hungrier and hungrier, surprised a little when he put her on the spot. She threw in a couple other things but he’d covered pretty much everything. As soon as the order was placed, she gave him a look. “Anything my heart desires was dangerous, what if I was one of those people who never got full?” Sometimes she felt that way considering how much she sampled at the bakery.
“When it comes to food, never.” Jude said before the restaurant answered and they proceeded to order. “Well...” he started with a shrug of his shoulder after ending the call. “I doubt you’re one of those people unless you have the best metabolism ever or work out all the time.” She definitely didn’t look like she ate all the time but he has had friends that seemed to be able to eat whatever they what whenever they want and it never showed. “And the food is an apology for the noise, so you can get whatever your heart desires.” He smiled again then realized that he should probably get back to unpacking. “If I’m ever too loud, don’t hesitate to tell me, but like I said I should have the sound proofing installed soon.” Jude definitely needed to be mindful of his neighbors until then though, luckily he didn’t have any private music lessons set up any time soon. He decided to take some time off to focus on the move.

Bella couldn’t stop herself from rolling her eyes at the terrible cliché. Yes, everyone knew that, but it didn’t matter. All that mattered was that he obviously didn’t have any proof of it. As long as her client could keep it in her pants for the next few weeks, they’d be golden. “Of course I know that, I’ve dated enough of them to learn my lesson.” And yet, they all kept dating her too. “I know,” she said with an amused smile, one that showed she was having way more fun with this than she should. “What I don’t know is why you’re not admitting defeat now. We both know how this ends.”
“You need to get better taste it men.” Holden joked, not fully knowing Arabella’s love life outside of what has been shared through alcohol. He finished his beer and pushed the empty glass to the other edge of the bar for the bartender to pick it up. “It would be defeat if the Larry was still representing this guy but you know I’m more competent than him. Give me a fighting chance Bella. Don’t get too cocky now.” He smirked and raised a brow.
mcrlinn·:
“Good point.” Josh stated, a little mad at himself he’d been so easily distracted from his job by her. But there was no changing it now. He’d have to come up with another plan and hope the guys who’d hired him didn’t come looking for their goods. “What kind of work do you do?” For someone who didn’t love small talk, he was breaking records out here with all these questions. “Moving is always rough but glad I did it. Nah, moved here a couple of years ago. It’s been good so far, I haven’t hated it enough to leave.” He admitted with a chuckle. Cities were Josh’s thing but at some point, when he’d been in too many pockets and too many beds, he’d have to pack up and find a new stomping ground.
“I’m a IT consultant, freelance. There’s a company out here that wants me to work with them. I guess they recently had a major security breech but you didn’t hear that from me.” Davina said, noticing it was their turn to order now. She waited for him to order and then placed her own, thanking the cashier and providing an extra tip. “So, you’ve only been here a few years? Do you move around a lot?” She wondered after joining him over in the order pick up area where other, less patient, customers were waiting.
mcrlinn·:
James knew her parents were something. They were hard to be around and they had some weird thing about class that she’d never understood - it was kind of a miracle she’d ended up the way she had. People assumed the heiress would be an airhead bitch but only half of that was true. “Was?” she repeated, already feeling a familiar stinging in her eyes as he kissed her forehead. If he thought she wouldn’t catch that…”It was enough, that’s what you were going to say, isn’t it?” James accused, undoing her seat belt as the first tear rolled down her cheek. “No, no I don’t think we can go to bed and talk about this some other time. You don’t love me anymore, do you? Not enough to want to get married and have a family with me. You - you hate me for making you stay here.” It was easy for James to go from zero to one hundred and now that she was thinking it, nothing was going to change her mind.
Connor hated seeing James cry, he always had. He would always be the first one to try to cheer her up, but when it was him that made her cry, it was harder. He hated himself for that but there was also a part of him that thought this conversation maybe needed to happen now and there was no way she wouldn’t feel hurt by it. “I still love you James.” He said, unbuckling his own seat belt, getting ready to chase after her if she decided to storm out of the car. “But I don’t know if that’s enough anymore. I could never hate you but I don’t think I’m...” The words got stuck in his throat. He couldn’t admit that he wasn’t happy anymore, that he had been often thinking about where his life would be if he did take that job and moved across the country all those years ago. If they could have made it work long distance until he came back or maybe she would join him in the east coast. All the what if’s where driving him crazy. “Do you think this relationship is fair?” He finally asked her, reaching to her with slight hesitation before wiping away a tear.
mcrlinn·:
Walking into his apartment, Eloise could tell some progress had been made but there was still a lot to go. She could sympathize. Unpacking your own place took a long time if you didn’t force yourself to do it. “Pizza’s pretty good around here, there’s a small place on the corner of East Main that’s a go-to. But personally, I’d go for Chinese. There’s a spot called Dragon Palace that I love.” Looking around, she spotted a smallish box that seemed like a good place to start, ‘kitchen’ written along the side. “They do deliver, I can confirm.” She’d ordered in more than she’d like to admit but it was addicting. “How about I start with one and if things get weird, I get out of here and we pretend it never happened.”
“Chinese it is!” Jude exclaimed, he pulled out his phone and did a quick search for Dragon Palace. He scrolled through the menu and the more he looked at the items the hungrier he got. “This place looks amazing. Okay I’ll call them now.” He put the call on speaker, “Deal,” he chuckled in response to her saying they could pretend nothing happened if needed as the phone rang. The restaurant answered and you can tell they were busy. “Hi, hello. I’d like to place an order for delivery.” He started listing off a few items and then looked to Eloise, “What do you want? It’s on me, get whatever your heart desires.” Jude held the phone between them so she wouldn’t have to shout.
mcrlinn·:
“So you know about the affairs, I’m a little surprised…but they were well before the marriage, as you know. And unless you’ve some how managed to dig up evidence, which I doubt, those affairs don’t matter. Not like the one your client was involved in.” Bella countered, sipping on her drink as she watched him. “You know you’re fucked so why not drop the whole act?” Actually, she had to wonder if the pompous asshole thing was an act or if it really was his actual personality. “I’d love to know how you’re planning on pulling a win out of this or are you going for a deal?” She knew the odds of him telling her anything were slim but why not poke around a little bit - have a little fun. Sure, she was being smug about the whole thing but as far as she knew, she had this. Even if there was a chance she was absolutely wrong.
“Once a cheater always a cheater Bella. You’d think after how long we’ve been doing this for that you’d already know that.” Holden hadn’t found any proof of current affairs but he was hopeful. He had to be if he wanted a fair fight in this case. The evidence stacked against his client was a mountain. He needed to find a bigger mountain or to make the mountain completely disappear. He was currently working both angles but she didn’t need to know that. “Even if I wanted to go for a deal, that’s not what my client wants and you know that. That’s why your client is being as vicious as they can be.”
mcrlinn·:
Josh wasn’t entirely sure what was happening anymore, conversations about coffee weren’t really his favorite topic. Not that small talk overall was his favorite thing. Now that his mark was ordering and moving on, he knew his job was moot here. There was no way he could recover this smoothly - well, he could but it would take getting rid of this lady in some way which didn’t seem all that likely at this point. “Not really a bother but I get what you mean. Kind of risky talking to strangers this early.” Or ever. In his case, the risk wasn’t that he hadn’t had coffee, it was that he was in the middle of something and in this case, he had been. “Don’t think I’ve seen you around here before and I come here a lot…you new in the area?”
Davina shrugged a shoulder, “But you could of easily ignored me or told me to bug off, so I appreciate you indulging in my questions.” She knew this conversation very well may end once it was their turn to place their order, especially if he was working. He probably wanted to get rid of her so he could focus on the task at hand, but the fact that he asked if she was new here made her think maybe she could get him to join her for their morning brew and they could talk some more. “I am, I’m on a work trip but this could be a future home. I’m scoping out the area. See if I like it, if it’s a good fit. Are you from here, or did you move here too?”
mcrlinn·:
This was not the direction James had wanted this conversation to go in. She didn’t want think about them not having a family together, not being together, but it felt like that was exactly where this was going. That might have been true, maybe she hadn’t explicitly said she wanted kids and maybe the thought had never really occurred to her, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t occurring now. Hearing him speak, James could feel her heart start to crumble because it didn’t feel like this was something he was just thinking, it felt like something he’d been thinking this for a while. For how long? “So…so you want a family but you don’t want one with me?” she asked, speaking slowly, hoping that there could be another conclusion but even she couldn’t find one. “My parents like you, what are you talking about?” but even James knew that wasn’t true. “Even if they didn’t, why does that matter? I love you, isn’t that enough?”
Connor parked the car as they arrived home, and let out a sigh. He raised his brows and looked at her. “They tolerate me and that’s only barely.” He said with a shake of his head. “It was -” Connor started and quickly corrected him. “It is James. Look, I’m tired can we talk about this tomorrow or some other time. It’s late, let’s just get inside and go to bed, yeah?” He was practically pleaded with her, saying whatever he could to try to end this conversation and avoid the inevitable fight that would come from it. “I love you too.” He muttered leaning in to press a soft kiss to her forehead.
mcrlinn·:
“That’s true but if I go to sleep now my whole sleep schedule would be messed up so if you need help…or if you want to take a break and get something to eat - both offers are on the table.” Eloise said, raising her eyebrows at him. After he’d been so apologetic for the music, she felt like she owed him a little something for coming in so hot. “We can order in if you feel stressed about all this and I think it’s only fair Bob Dylan remains on the stereo, he deserves it.”
Jude thought for a moment, he really could use the help, he didn’t think he had a lot of stuff but then again his family and some friends helped him pack everything up now he was all alone to make this new apartment his home. He stepped aside with a smile, opening the door wider to let her pass through. “I was thinking of ordering pizza…or Chinese, do you recommend any places around here? If they deliver that would be great, but I don’t mind taking a break to go pick it up either.” The musician closed the door behind them, “Thanks again for offering to help, you can definitely leave any time. I appreciate it even if you only took care of one box.” He said with a quiet laugh.
