He doesn’t message any kind of confirmation, but he does come to the helmsblock in the next few minutes.
He doesn’t come inside for a few seconds, hesitating at the doorway and staring up at the column Moira is attached to, hes frowning, his eyebrows pinched together and his mouth a tight line, his entire body is tense. When he does finally come in he flinches slightly at the sound of the door closing behind him.
The lack of a proper confirmation wasn’t really worrying to Moira, as he could see Karkat make his decision and walk to the helmsblock. He held the door open absently while the mutant stood at it, staring up at him, mind more on his job than on Karkat. Of course, he didn’t need much of his consciousness to do his job– it was more for the mutant’s benefit that he didn’t acknowledge the look he was given, not so much as looking over at him with his body. He knew he was odd to look at, and that a helms-column could easily be seen as a lurid and gory thing, so he was fairly used to lingering looks.
“Don’t flinch, kid,” he said after the door shut, tilting his head so his empty, unseeing sockets gazed over at Karkat. On this helm, he couldn’t use his psionics while hooked up. His sight was solely from the cameras. “I’m not gonna hurt you. And even if I was, it’s better to steel up than to get all jumpy.”
“You can relax in here; stop worrying.”
Karkat shot a glare at the helms-column when he mentioned the flinching, teeth gritted as he choked down whatever his response was going to be until he can wrangle his expression back into a semi-neutral frown. “Noted.” He sounds hoarse, not surprising, the last sessions chuckle voodoos were less severe than usual, but the amount of growling and screaming he’d been doing had to be hell on his throat. Angry responses didnt get as much punishment.
“I’m not really sure what you expect me to do in here.” he mutters, hands moving in half formed drills. seemingly just for something to do. “I dont... think we even talked that much.” He hates being unsure about that.
