childhood/family life: scott was born into a rather boring, run-of-the-mill family. as he grew older, however, they learned heโd been afflicted with asthma and that it would only worsen as he aged. he was always equipped with an inhaler, as embarrassing as itโd been, and was treated by everyone with gloves on. despite this he persevered, showing interest in sports and insisting that he could partake in them even though heโd likely be a liability on any team. when all his efforts were rebuked he shut himself in โ until one night he overheard his parents arguing and came out of his room to interfere. it was then he was grabbed by his drunken father to be forcefully returned to his room and reflexively pulled away, which resulted in his father ultimately leaving the family out of shame. while he would live with his father for a short period, eventually he was shut out completely. the resentment began to fester as he stepped up to help around the house by volunteering as a technician at a local veterinarian's office, and as a reward for his hard work, he was given permission to join the lacrosse team with his best friend once he graduated middle school. though he lacked the athletic prowess the other players displayed, he still made his best effort to get off the benches and contribute whenever he was allowed on the field. during one game in particular, he suffered a severe asthma attack, and was subsequently pulled from the team in his junior year of high school, which was about the last entertaining thing to have happened in his life until graduating college. education: pre-kโ12. uneventful, all things considered, although working alongside a vet for so many years did inspire him to enroll in oberlin college for his undergrad before he eventually moved onto veterinary school. accomplishments: helping his mother by volunteering at the clinic, remaining kind and generous despite his recent change, graduating top of his undergrad class. regrets: allowing his father to leave so easily, not joining lacrosse sooner so heโd have had better practice, remaining an outsider all of high school.ย secrets: (isnโt very good at keeping them) having recently become a werewolf.

following his high school graduation, scott chose to pursue an undergraduate degree in biology at oberlin so he could eventually attend veterinary school. he mainly resided in the dorms until his final year when he was able to save up for an apartment with the money he made working part-time as a server at carver cafรฉ โโ this, paired with the time he dedicated to his technicianย position at the animal clinic, only exacerbated the stress of being a student in a stem field. while he kept a brave face for his close friends and family to ward off any concern, he began doubting that he belonged in forks at all, considering he was hardly capable of balancing school and work. after suffering from another severe asthma attack instigated by the immense pressure he felt was placed upon him, he moved back in with his mother and spiraled even further. that was, until his best friend lured him out of the house in the midst of his brooding and into the depths of the vast liberty park, where once being separated scott dropped his inhaler on the forest floor and looked up to meet the gaze of a monstrous wolf, crimson red eyes glowering at him just before he was bitten. he returned home shortly after ( without his inhaler, which are like, eighty bucks ) and crept past his motherโs bedroom, cleaning and bandaging his wound in the bathroom and retiring back to his cocoon so he could resume ignoring the rest of the world.
except whenever he awoke, he felt intrinsically different โ eventually deducing hisย superhuman senses, strength, and agility over the course of a few days. he couldnโt say he was entirely devastated by the effects that he could only conclude the bite inflicted upon him, although he felt utterly lost on how to proceed. initially keeping his abilities tightly under wraps, he was eventually discovered by derek hale and offered solace in his pack of werewolves.ย
scott has been a part of the hale pack since he graduated, and now attends veterinary school as he planned as well as keeping up with being a technician at the animal clinic, where admittedly half the pets that come and go areย waryย of his scent. still, he feels a deep passion for the field and knows he will never let any of his new instincts overwhelm him so long as he can help it.
