Ember had forgotten her jacket in the auditorium and was way too much of a wuss in the cold to go without it. She’d run in, grab it and get out without much fuss. But then, she heard a really pretty song…and quickly thought she was going crazy. There was no one in the auditorium. “H-hello?” she said quietly before realizing it was coming from above her. “Hey,” she called, “I don’t think you’re supposed to be up there.”
Megara halted her singing and strumming, though dind't budge. "It's a cat walk, not a forbidden space." She didn't see anything wrong with it, anyways. And it was a nice escape, personally. And the view of the actual stage was lovely.
Mowgli had been wandering like he always did, attempting to explore as much of the school as he could when he was on his own. The music was what’d drawn him into the room and he peeked his head in, looking around for the source of the music. It sounded very, very familiar, like the other Styx that he’d run in to at the dance, but he wasn’t positive. Instead of questioning it he joined in, voice rising the more comfortable he got with the environment and only hoping it was the company he thought it was and not a stranger.
When a voice arose to sing with hers, Megara stopped singing a moment to take a harmony part of the song, so she could listen to the voice of the other. She kept playing, soon joining back in song with him. It was odd, singing with another like this, but she didn't hate it entirely. Truthfully, Megara was caught in a difficult place; being who she was and being who her father wanted her to be. Sure, she could pretend it was about the money, but it was about his love and acceptance above all else. But when her heart became broken, she also became cynical instead of charming. And at this point, not even Megara knew who she was. But in this moment, singing and playing, she could just be. And she liked that, despite not knowing who she was singing with.
“Lottie Woods, well technically it’s Charlotte but I always go by Lottie.” Something about this girl had Lottie rambling or maybe it was just facing up to the fact they were discussing her submitting. “Do I get your name or are you one of these Dominants that feels I should only call them by a title?” She scoffed at the mention of kinks and limits, she hadn’t discussed any of these things for a while. “If not here then where and when?”
Megara waited until Lottie had finished talking completely before replying. "Meg Styx. Technically it's Megara, but my friends use to call me Meg." Whwn she had friends. Megara was charming and could befriend just about anyone. Even if by using her looks. Her outlook on the world was a little different now, though. "Don't care if you use a title or not - unless you're one of those puppy submissive's that insist on using it constantly. Don't use it up here." She sighed and stopped strumming, finally looking back up at the other. "I don't care. When and where would you like to? But this cat walk? Leave the D/s crap off it." She wasn't entirely against it - she loved a good round of sex with a few kinks; but she was so confused about who she really was lately, she just enjoyed getting caught up in her guitar.
Lottie rolled her eyes at the praise comment but it was as she got nearer she realised who it was. “Philosophical question…yes that was me darlin’.” She sat down on the ground shrugging, “Guess we could. I haven’t done any and everyone is making such a big deal about them.” Despite anything Lottie said she really didn’t want to get punished and these assessments seemed to be pretty important.
"I've noticed." Megara didn't particularly enjoy the system, though it was programmed into her fairly well. Clearly not well enough all things considered, but she still wasn't looking forward to these assessments. "Do I get a name, then?" Megara lazily plucked at her guitar - the one with a hummingbird on it - and looked at the other, waiting for a name. "We should also probably discuss limits and kinks, too. But honestly? I don't feel like it right now. Not up here." The catwalk was her escape; a place she didn't have to worry about titles and impressing her father or being compared to her siblings. She could just be her..okay, a more cynical version of her, but some things take time.
Lottie was taking another wander around the campus. She didn’t have anywhere particular to go but she was still finding new areas she hadn’t been before. Passing a door which was slightly ajar she heard music and curiosity led her in. She stayed in the shadows until the song finished when she stepped forward clapping. “You play pretty well,” she said walking closer to the brunette.
Megara was fairly startled by the clapping, and turned to try and see who else had made their way onto the catwalk to listen to her play. Secretly, she was proud and felt good that someone was interested in hearing her play enough to come up here. But she'd never show that pride. "I know I do." As the other girl walked closer, Megara vaguely recognized her. "You're that submissive I proposed a philosophical question to." As her eyes raked over the other, she discovered she really was beautiful. "Are we doing an assessment or what?"
[PM: Megara Styx] I want to go into town, but usually that involves friends or something. And since I won't be stuck calling you 'Miss' the entire time...
@callxmexmeg
PM: You know Meg, if you want to call me a friend, you can. But I’d love to go to town with you.
PM: A challenge?
PM: Yeah. I feel bad for the little guys, they get such bad rep. Chocolate ball? Is that a snake-type? Saturday works for me! And I have a car…kinda.
PM: You said you were irresistible and the like. Ergo, challenge accepted; consider yourself resisted.
PM: Chocolate ball python - it's a type of morph. One of my favourites, actually.
Megara sat up in the catwalk to the auditorium, strumming her guitar. She liked how it sounded up there; liked how she felt up there. The catwalk was her favourite place to be, and she had made a natural habit of being up there since arriving. So she sat there with content, playing and singing like no one was listening.
[SONG]
You want to do an assessment with me? I guess we could, all in the name of testing our theories of course.
No, I was just talking for the pleasure of it. I don't beat around the bush - it's an ample waste of time.
Testing theories is relatively important, after all. What mark are you? Your name would be nice, too.
[PM: Megara Styx] Nothing beats a hand written letter from our dear father. Apparently, I no longer have a say in my life. Science club has become mandatory.
PM: He actually wrote you about your extracurricular? That’s a mite intense. Who even told him about that?
PM: Can I read it?
@callxmexmeg
PM: I…see. That does sound like him. I…don’t have an answer for that.
PM: You are technically over the age of 18. At that point I’m not sure a Father’s rite to Dominance extends past the legal age. I could look at that for you?
PM: Have you recently suffered a concussion? Technically, Haemon. Technically, he has no control over me. But where does that leave me? I'm certainly not in his good graces, am I?
PM: I do what I want, Daddy Dearest shoves me back out. I do what I've been taught, and I get to keep a spot in the family. With him. And I can't say I particularly enjoy my financial restrictions.

@callxmexmeg
PM: Well yes, I gathered as much. I’m surprised he knows so much. Have you been writing home?
PM: Ah. Well that makes sense. Are you going to do it?
PM: He more or less had a passive aggressive tone between the lines about joining a science club if there was one to be part of. I just want to be the favourite again.
PM: I could not join and rebel for the basic right of freedom I should possess. But then again, my choice isn't exactly my own, is it?
That appears to be the consensus. I suspect seeing constant messages about them would wear me down eventually. Maybe it’s like ripping off a band aid, perhaps I should do them all quickly and get them all out of the way.
We could always test that theory. Get an assessment done together, then decide if it's worth ripping the bandage of, or pursuing the philosophical question.

PM: You know Meg, if you want to call me a friend, you can. But I’d love to go to town with you.
PM: I’m irresitable alright.
PM: I’m easygoing as well. And that’s a nice gesture, but my brother is going to see Deadpool with me. Snakes sounds much more cooler anyway – less movies, more snakes.
PM: I am going to have to take that as a challenge.
PM: So am I - can't you tell? Seriously? You're interested in snakes? I can't get one yet, but I want to at least look and inquire about my chocolate ball. that I want. Saturday work for you? I don't have a car, though.
These assessment things people keep talking about - do we have to do them?
Unfortunately. I pose an important philosophical question for the day: If you wait until last minute to do them, are they still a colossal displeasure?

@callxmexmeg
PM: I'm not actually involved in science club. He thinks I need to be.. putting forth my energy into more productive activities.. or something. It's bullshit.
PM: I tossed it.

PM: You know Meg, if you want to call me a friend, you can. But I’d love to go to town with you.
PM: It’s very hard to get rid of me. I can’t help being so lovable.
PM: Then we’ll go to the movies to see Brooklyn. It’ll be a nice break from my usual genre preference.
PM: I'm sure you’re just..irresistibly loveable.
PM: That was surprisingly easy. After Brooklyn, we can even see that Deadpool movie you wanted to see. I think it was you, anyways. And the entire world. But then I want to look at snakes.
