I can see what she meant. A Christmas tree has to look beautiful and full. I mean you don’t want a scrawny scraggly Charlie Brown Christmas tree do you?

Yeah, I get colours and fullness. But what does ‘top heavy’ even mean? If it were up to me, the only passing criteria for a christmas tree would be tall, green and leafy.

Three hours just for a tree? Holy shit, mate. I’d have got fed up after ten minutes and picked up any old tree. They all look the same to me. I have no idea but you know what mums are like. They’re so picky with everything. I’m sure my mum is gonna have something to say about my decorations when I get back home to finally put them up.

A sons gotta do what he’s gotta do man. Thankfully I don’t have to worry about the decorations - my mum thinks I’m completely incapable of matching the reds and greens together. She just keeps me around to help her hang things up in far corners. It’s all about being her elf during the holidays.

Your Mum and I are one in the same! I let KJ pick the tree this year and when he wasn’t looking trimmed it and made it look perfect. There is something special about having the perfect tree for Christmas. Did you at least have a little fun while you were out there?

Yeah, the best part was when she finally made up her mind on the one. Seems as if she was choosing a husband instead of a tree really. But it did give us some good mother-son bonding time though. You know, being on the road and travelling means less time for mum, and I guess that’s what Christmas is supposedly about. Next up on the list of brain-wreckers: gifts!

Yes - I am from Norway, my parents make it their mission to find the perfect tree in the wood and take it home. It can take a full day or so..

Now picking up trees from the woods itself is different - that sounds a lot more fun. So you guys have to chop it down yourselves and stuff?

so i recently went christmas tree shopping with my mum it took us a whole 3 hours to find the right tree. can you believe it - 3 hours? yeah, she kept saying that none of the shapes felt right. someone please explain to me what that means - all christmas trees literally look the same to me. @hchqstarters
