I’m begging all my mutuals to pay attention to the wildfires in Argentinian Patagonia. Almost 10.000 acres of unique Patagonian Andean forests, with South America tallest and world’s oldest trees, burned and they were all intentional. The worst part is that back in December, the government announced that they would lift the ban on foreigners buying rural land, and on changing the land productive activity after a wildfire for 30-60 years. Firefighters are crying because they don’t have enough resources, the government cut their budget by 70% for this year, while they wasted 300 million dollars on F-16 jet fighters. It’s not just trees, it’s animals and people’s lives, whole towns, that have been endangered, more than 3000 tourists had to be evacuated. The climate catastrophe is worsening the fires, with less rain and more wind this summer.

I was joking about how bfMae and bfScott going off to be pirates is like seeing two puppies wander into a dark alley (which is inaccurate on multiple levels, I was mostly joking about how they both look innocent). But it did make me realize that out of the pair, Mae is definitely the one navigating their new lifestyle and keeping them safe socially, at least at first. Mae, who has lived on the streets as a thief and rogue most of her life, she definitely has skills to stay safe in a traveller's life. And Scott... had loving parents who were florists and tried their best to protect and shield him. Scott's grown a lot in the Blue Kingdom, but yeah, Mae is definitely the leader of their travelling duo!

I don’t think I’ll get over how much Scott looked out for Nom during today’s dungeon run. Before starting the dungeon they were off to the side together with Nom asking if he had invisibility so he could hide his appearance from Katie and 4c. After apologizing about how he did not have the spell with him, he tried to use healing circle, saw that it did nothing to change Nom’s appearance and immediately casted touch of undying on him. He tried to stick close to Nom all throughout the dungeon, blocking Katie and 4c from seeing him because he knows them seeing how Nom looks while they’re in the dungeon is the last thing Nom wants right now. How he casted cleansing aura in the room with the creaking hearts and Nom commented on how the spell still works (ie still giving him its regular healing effects), with Scott replying that it’s not healing what he wants it to. How Scott kept looking at Nom during the farkle room and talking about how the Creaking King’s latest cruel words have rattled him more after seeing Nom in his current state. Scott Springwell cares so much about Nom and the fact that he is once again in a position where his magic cannot save the ones he loves is something that is deeply haunting him
