@camden-booth-blog
so do you know that I never seen snow? only on TV.
“Do you think you like the snow?”
“So my Christmas turned into my mother and sister yelling at me about my upcoming MMA match. I thought they supported me, but now I’m not so sure anymore.“
“They could just be concerned about your health. They probably don’t want to see you hurt.”
wyattsroberts:
“Which is why you need a wing man – me.” Never in a million years would either of them be in charge of people. It just wasn’t possible. Besides they had other endeavors to fulfill. There was no time for them to run a country. “Oh so I’m the one with all the music in this friendship I see. That sounds about right though. I don’t sing too much, it’s a rarity that people actually know I can sing.”
“Booth, Roberts 2020?” Camden couldn’t hold in her laughter any longer. A loud laugh escaped her lips and quickly attempted to be quiet. After taking another sip of her drink, she nodded in agreement. “You are the musician and I’m just the photographer.”
wyattsroberts:
“How diplomatic of you – are you gearing up for a presidential election? You’d have my vote.” However did have a valid point. There shouldn’t be any classification on that sort of thing. They were all people living in the same place, didn’t matter who had been there the longest and such. “We could also be kicked out of here if people didn’t like the entertainment.” He snorted. “What would we perform?”
“President Camden Booth. It does have a nice ring to it, but I’m to shy to run the country.” She smirked at the thought which was never going to happen. Cammie tapped her chin as she tried to think of a song that they could play. “I don’t know to many so many we should put a pin in this and perform another day? Besides, I’m sure everyone loves hearing you sing.”
austenamelia:
“I knew I liked you,” she hummed with a chuckle as she turned to fill a glass for the girl. Austen handing it off with a grin before refilling her own and taking a sip. As she lowered the cup, she tilted her head and looked back at Cammie, eyes narrowing in mock-serious contemplation. “Tell me, Camden Booth, are you the dancing type?” Her voice held a playful lilt. Austen wasn’t one for dancing, in all honesty - but she also wasn’t usually the type for pretty dresses and fancy parties, either.
Cammie gratefully took the cup and nodded her thanks. She took a quick sip to get a taste for the punch before going for a longer sip. At the next question she caught her lower lip between her teeth at the thought of her dancing. “Uhm..” Camden trailed off to take another sip of liquid courage. “If I’m being honest with you, I have two left feet.” She had to laugh at herself, especially when she knew how badly her dance moves could be. “But if you want to dance I will most certainly try.”
wyattsroberts:
“I,” Wyatt started and then really thought about it. Did she? Sure she moved away but before that she spent a good few years there. “Well no I wouldn’t consider you a new person. Maybe other people would. But hey, I went away to Boston for four years – only visiting during the holidays. Does that make me a new person since I’ve been back?” he quipped pondering the same thing she had been. “Yes there is only a slight problem with that. I don’t know how to play the guitar.” There admittance of not knowing how to play something. That was something new to fall out of his mouth. Did he really need to know how to play every instrument in the world? Probably not. Though that went without saying, he could most likely pick it up and still play better than most that were just starting out.
When Wyatt spoke, Cammie looked up at the ceiling as if she was in a deep thought. After a few moments she looked back down and shrugged her shoulders. “Let’s just be the people of this town. We don’t need to be classified as old or new.” She admitted with an official nod. Suddenly, Camden had a burst of confidence which was most likely from the spiked punch. “I know how to play.” She said with enthusiasm in her voice. “You could sing and I could play.”
austenamelia:
Austen had just sipped her punch - immediately realized it was spiked - and tipped back the rest of the glass when she heard a newly familiar voice. Wide grin crossed her features as she put the glass back down on the table and turned to her date for the evening. “Just in time.” She said, hazel eyes immediately drawn to the dress. Somehow, the attire surprised her - in the best way. After a moment of uncharacteristic quiet, she met the other’s eyes with a warm smile. “You look beautiful, sunshine.” Straightening slightly - and doing her best to be on fairly good behavior, she nodded toward the bowl. “Can I get you a drink? Although - warning, pretty sure it’s a little more than just punch.” She mused with a chuckle.
A sigh of relief fell from her lips once she found out that she wasn’t late. Usually, she was always late, but since she wanted to make a good impression tonight she knew that being late wouldn’t be the best idea. Suddenly, her cheeks turned bright red and a warmth was beginning to build in her belly. Cammie could feel her eyes roaming over her dress which made her wonder if it was to much. A few words were then shared and a bright smile appeared on her face. “Thank you.” She mumbled while tucking her hair behind her ear. “I’d love one. Besides, is it really a ball in this town without spiked punch?” She said through a nervous giggle.
cameronxgraham:
The Texan cared about as much about this garbage of a ball as she did about Panthers. She was a Cowboy at heart. So needless to say, this was a waste despite having a really hot girlfriend looking really hot. “What? That’s alcohol? What….? I don’t think so,” Cameron feigned seriousness, her stupid facial expression, however, did her no favors. “I don’t know how that got in there.” Biting back a smile, she simply shrugged her shoulders at the blonde. “Hopefully the mayor doesn’t find out… or my Grams. Or… just about anyone really. I’m too pretty for jail.”
When the girl began to speak, Camden had an idea that she either spiked the punch or knew someone who did. She wasn’t going to be the one to rat her out though. A little vodka in the punch wasn’t going to tell anyone. After taking another sip she let out a tiny giggle. “I think people will find out after having a cup, but...” She trailed off to take look around the crowded room before adding, “it’ll be a mystery as to who did the spiking. I won’t say anything if you won’t.”
megjames:
“Oh, I know that. I don’t care if people are gay,” she shrugged, because she genuinely didn’t. That would put her at least halfway onto the road to hypocrisy. And really, why would she care? That was just dumb. “I’m Megan by the way– proud bisexual.” Saying the word aloud actually caused her to snicker. “Welcome to my coming-out party…” She pointed to the dance floor.
Cammie had brought her glass up to her lips to take a sip when the blonde proudly came out. She let out a giggle as she gently wiped the back of her hand against her wet lips. “I’m Cammie and thanks for inviting me.” She said with a slow nod.
wyattsroberts:
He laughed, “There’s always new people coming into this town and I can’t keep up.” Though he did have more pressing matters to deal with; one of them didn’t include keeping a scorecard for all the people in town. That would’ve been tedious. “Then again, I’m pretty sure most of the people here all have money. They’re just here to show up as if they’re doing the town a favor. Pathetic.” With the way Wyatt was talking, it seemed as if he was bitter. Maybe he was due to the nature of things that were going on his life. The information he found out from his sister about their father. “Sorry. I just have other things on my mind right now. And when I should be practicing music I’m here instead.”
“Do I fall into the new people category?” She asked with a raised eyebrow. “Technically, I’m a local, but I did move away for eight years.” Cammie had yet to find her fit in this town, but hopefully she would belong somewhere soon. She listened to her friend and noticed by the tone in his voice that there was something wrong. Camden debated on asking him, but she didn’t want to pry. After he spoke, she looked towards the stage before back to Wyatt. “I see a guitar and a microphone over there. Why not practice your music and be here at the same time?”
This wasn’t typically how Wyatt spent a Friday night. Usually he was at work or at home. After socializing on a daily basis, the last thing he wanted to do sometimes was do just that – socialize. It got exhausting to be sociable all the time. However he got dressed up sans a tie with the decision made up for him that he was going to this ball. That decision was made by Ayden – for once in their lives it was role reversal. Where he had to be coaxed out of the house. Wyatt felt as though he should be practicing the music for tomorrow’s gig with his band. But he wasn’t going to let that ruin the night, not entirely. He’d have to just be mindful of how much he drank so he could function like a normal human being the next day. Sitting down at the table with his drink in hand, he surveyed the room after taking a sip of his drink and asked, “Who are most of these people?” Some he knew, others he did not.
Camden had convinced herself that she wasn’t going to go to the ball. She was nervous about wearing a dress that might reveal to many of her scars from her accident. Plus, she didn’t want to be the person who stood by the snack table the entire night. However, after an invitation from a brunette, Cammie decided to let her guard down and attend the ball. When she arrived she really wasn’t in her element with the big crowd of people, but she put on a brave face. As she wandered around the room, her blue eyes landed on a familiar face. She sat down next to Wyatt and slowly shook her head. “I couldn’t tell you even if I tried.” She said with a giggle.
It wasn’t that she hated the holidays - but she hated the holidays. She had planned on skipping the ball altogether - until a certain girl who had expressed a poetic love of the snow sprung to mind. And when that girl had accepted her invitation, suddenly the prospect didn’t seem quite so daunting. All dolled up and feeling entirely out of her element, Austen scanned the room for the girl, politely mingling through the crowd until she found the punch bowl. She filled a glass and leaned against a nearby table, taking in the room.
@camden-booth
Camden really wasn’t the party type. She had two left feet when it came to dancing and she often spent more time eating than conversing with people. She wasn’t planning on going to the ball since she did just return to Wilmington and thought that she wouldn’t know anyone there. However, a quick encounter with a brunette at an ice cream shop lead to an invitation. She was excited to spend more time with Austen, but she was also nervous for that exact same reason. In the end, she pushed her nerves away and put on the best dress she owned. Once she arrived at the ball, she walked in and scanned the room. Soon enough, her eyes landed a familiar face by the punch bowl. Cammie made her way over with a charming smile. “I’m not late am I?” She asked when she was close enough.
megjames:
When Megan drank, her confidence soared through the roof. She didn’t stutter nor give way to her telling social awkwardness. It was always biting her in the ass but tonight. “Hm, well if it were a different kind of night. And I was a different kind of person. Not not gay– just different you might be able to find that out for yourself,” she hummed, a light grin pulling at her lips.
Cammie caught her lower lip between her teeth in an attempt to compress her giggles. The girl was quite amusing and perhaps the punch had something to do with that or maybe it didn’t. “There would be nothing wrong if you were not not gay.” She said with a tiny smile.
“Sorry, excuse me, sorry…” Holly muttered under her breath, making her best attempt to balance a tray of champagne flutes as she politely maneuvered through the crowd. Why she had decided she should wear heels, knowing full well that exactly this would be her night, was far beyond the blonde. All she needed was a minute to sit still - so, with a polite smile, she found a table with one other person and took a seat. “I will personally make sure you keep a full glass in your hand the entire night if you pretend you’re ordering something so I can sit down for two seconds.” She spoke through a grin that was quite possibly insane - but the window for absolutely sanity passed hours ago.
Camden decided to take a break from the huge crowd that surrounded the dance floor. She wasn’t one who truly enjoyed being in the presence of so many people so squished together. The table seemed to be her own refuge and she would gladly sit down for as long as she could. Soon after, someone joined Cammie and began to speak. It seemed as if she was working and exhausted because of it. “Or I could hand the rest of those out while you take a break here if you want?” She suggested quietly. Cammie didn’t know if that would be allowed, but she thought she could lend a helping hand.
Megan had a few cups of punch. The sweetness and bitterness masked the flavor of the alcohol but not enough that she didn’t know of its existence. It went without saying that she was a little tipsy. It did wonders at appeasing her nerves. Especially when she turned to the other at her side. “You know my boss asked if I was gay a few minutes ago,” she stated, a slight hum followed her words. “I’ve never gotten that before but I’m not sure how dancing with a girl– makes me gay. Do you think I’m gay?”
Camden only fell victim to one cup of punch since she usually stuck to water, even at a winter ball. She tended to be a wallflower at events like these which is why she stayed close to the snack table. As she was swaying to the music, her attention was brought to the blonde beside her. She cleared her throat at the question before smirking and responding with, “I don’t think I know you well enough to give you an answer to that.”
Cameron bobbed her head a little to the music. Nonchalantly she dumped– a whole bottle of vodka into the punch bowl. No one was going to notice and if they did, they wouldn’t complain. If they did complain then they were already boring by default. Catching someone by the snacks table near her, she tossed a grin at the other. “Having fun? You should try the punch…” So much for being casual.
Camden wasn’t one to get out of the house, especially for a dance. In fact, this was probably the first dance she had ever gone to. She was always to busy with sports to attend any of the high school dances. Now she was here, but found herself eating more snacks than dancing. Cammie was pulled away from her snacks by someone suggesting a drink. “Sure.” She said while grabbing a glass and taking a sip. She coughed a bit as the punch was a lot stronger than she expected. Cammie usually wasn’t someone who drank, but one wasn’t going to kill her. “It’s good. I thought this was suppose to be alcohol free though?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
