Trouble | Matt, Aiden, Cam, & River
Matt’s worn down black skinny jeans hung low on his hips as he paced. River was gone, and he was headed to Cameron’s once he got the text. No matter how many times they had messed around, he still got nervous River would catch them in the act. That would be the absolute worst scenario. River had been busy lately, leaving him access to act on his desires involving Cameron. Brown curls bounced as he shook his head, trying to justify his actions. River was distant with Cameron, especially since he had formally met Aiden. He didn’t seem settled on Cam, so maybe it was a sign? Unofficial or not, he didn’t want to lose Rivers friendship.
His phone buzzed and he scooped it up without a thought, unnerved with how differently he was with Cam than anyone else. The indecision on Cam’s part was getting to him a little bit, and he hated that. Grabbing his floral button up, he draped it over his shoulders as he moved through the door. Locking it, he headed towards Cam’s floor.
He knew the walk by heart, now. He was even beginning to recognize people, which caused him to acknowledge just how deep he was in this. Before he knew it, he was standing square with Cam’s door and knocked a few times.
As it opened, he greeted Cameron with a playful smile and walked in before anything could be said. His chest met Cam’s as he walked in, closing the door behind them with no concern of how loud it shut. He kissed Cameron, wasting no time and letting his tongue slide between the welcoming pair. Shimmying out of his shirt, it hit the ground before Matty’s hands cupped Cameron’s face, enjoying the smooth skin beneath his touch.
His tongue caressed the back of Cameron’s teeth as both of his hands slid down the length of his torso, to the button of his slightly baggy jeans. Without hesitation, he pulled the button free, allowing room to move into his boxers and squeeze his hardness once.
Matt broke the kiss, his thin lips swollen as he smirked at Cameron. “Hello.” His hands worked at Cameron’s jeans, pushing them down as they made a thud on the ground. The boxers clung to the curve of his thighs and ass and Matt licked his lips before turning him around so his back was accessible to him. With a gentle push, Cameron was holding himself up on his bed, perfect height for Matty to take him from behind.
His left hand caressed Cameron’s neck down the length of his back as his right undid his own jeans, halfheartedly shoving the denim down his ass. Exposing himself, he spit in his hand and quickly lathered the natural lubricant over himself. With another spit, he caressed between Cam’s crease, trying to relax him for the urgent fuck he was eager to inflict.
Aiden knew River was in class, but it didn’t stop him from texting him. Pathetically, he voiced how badly he missed him. River already warned him that he would be busy for the night, and it only increased the size of his aching heart. Fucking, pathetic.
He was walking the hallway to Cameron’s dorm. He texted his brother the day before, warning him that he needed to grab the literature book he had left there when they were studying. He never did get a text back, but he was sure it was because he had other things on his mind. He was always occupied with something, emotionally or physically. He was the definition of a busy body.
Aiden smiled at a familiar classmate before twisting the doorknob in his large hand. It was unlocked. His head was still watching the person he had greeted when a moan echoed in his head. Please, don’t let it be River.
He held his breath as his eyes averted toward the commotion. Matty was very eagerly fucking his brother, and Aiden felt a fire blaze inside of him. Did nobody care about River’s feelings? If he knew this was going on, he wouldn’t have to be so kind with Cameron’s invisible feelings. He would just leave him and consider a future with Aiden.
“What the fuck.” Aiden barked, the door latching behind him. He had their scrambling attention. The image would stick, but he was used to much worse thoughts. “Matt, get the hell off of him, and get the fuck out of here. Now.”
The look on Matty’s face was dangerous as he was backed into the room. The control he had in their… relationship was beyond arousing. Their lips met, his tongue roaming. Clothing disappeared as Matty’s hands appeared everywhere. God, it was bliss. Matty broke the kiss, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. “Hello to you, too.”
More clothing was removed, and he was forced to hold himself on the bed. His legs were shaking, his heart throbbing. Matt prepared him, and Cameron only whimpered with each graze of his lover’s fingertips. The goosebumps from the line he drew from his neck to his ass still replaying in his head, his hair standing on end.
“Fuck,” Cameron moaned, Matt filling him in a matter of seconds. To the point. Matt’s fingers squeezed his hips, the trusts quick and merciless. “Oh, Matt.” Cameron’s eyes rolled back, his arms using all of his strength to keep him from collapsing. His length bounced with every sharp move, and he begged for Matt to stroke him, if only a few times.
He was lost in a cloud of moans and grunts when he heard his brother’s sharp tone. No, not now.
Matt wasted no time moving away from Cameron, and pulling his tight jeans over each leg before turning to face Aiden as he carefully did his pants.
“Don’t you know how to knock, Aiden? Bloody hell.” He was uncomfortable in his pants, his length throbbing from the lack of friction. The whole scene was beginning to process, and he locked eyes with olive green, staying between Aiden and Cameron. They were almost the same height, Matt winning out by an inch or two.
“Oh, thats mighty noble of you to throw in my face, Aiden. If River would treat Cameron right instead of being distracted by you, then maybe I would’ve refrained.”
It took a lot to make him mad. He wasn’t even sure if he was mad at the intrusion, Aiden’s words, or what he had been doing with Cameron behind River’s back.
“River doesn’t deserve Cameron. That’s a fact.” Matty added, not wavering from his eye contact with Aiden. “Why do you care so much anyway?”
Aiden attempted to stand his ground, his fist tightening at his side. If Cameron was doing anything other than making himself decent, he didn’t know. His gaze was fixed on the man River trusted more than anything. If it were possible, steam would be rolling out of his ears. Beyond pissed, he took a step forward.
“You’re fucking right River doesn’t deserve Cameron. He deserves someone who is loyal, and who won’t force him into anything he doesn’t want to do. He deserves someone much better than that fucking prick,” Aiden pointed his finger at his now standing brother, his face stone cold. “He also deserves a better friend, who won’t fuck his company. Fucking asshole. Get over yourself.”
Aiden didn’t feel like he needed to explain himself, but the rage inside of him forced him to spill it out, every emotion out on the table. “I love River, and I know what he deserves. It’s not any of you.”
Cameron couldn’t find the breath to interfere with the argument between Matt and Aiden. He slowly pulled his clothing up and faced the action. Aiden looked more mad than he ever had. It wasn’t until he called Cameron a prick that he stood beside Matt, completely missing the sentence before. Something about loyalty. He waited for Aiden to stop talking, resisting the urge to cut him off took all of his will power. He interrupted Matt, and lets the words rolling on his tongue out, “If River would put out every once in awhile…”
Aiden’s fist met Cameron’s face, and he watched, from the floor, as Aiden walked out. “Fuck you both.” He snapped, slamming the door behind him. Cameron groaned in pain, his hands covering his lips and nose. It was radiating, and he couldn’t tell where it was coming from.
“Ice, Matt. Please.” Cameron whined.
“He’s going to find River,” his accent was thicker than usual.
“Let him.”
River was thankful when class got let out early. It would give him time to figure out how to break things off with Cameron. He wanted to tell him the truth, the whole truth. There was no reason to avoid holding back anymore. River checked his texts once he was able to. He smiled at Aiden’s name, a three resting next to it to indicate how many messages were awaiting him. Sliding his phone open, his eyes found: “I’m coming your way.” first, before seeing the previous two: “Although you’re sitting bored in class, I’m thinking about how we could be watching a movie together instead. Do you like cuddling?” and: “Miss you.”
He pushed through the double doors, his guitar in his left hand before he situated to respond. After typing out, “1) That sounds wonderful. I love cuddling, 2) I miss you, too, 3) Not that I mind, but is everything okay?”, he looked up and saw Aiden’s black truck parallel parked at the curb. The smile that pulled over his lips was undeniable, and he hurried down the small amount of steps to reach Aiden faster.
“Hey you.” He greeted, noticing Aiden’s serious demeanor. He decided to take the playful route. “Fancy meeting you here.” Leaning forward, he stole a kiss before sitting his guitar down. The energy surrounding them made River swallow hard. “Everything okay, baby?” He let his fingers curl around Aiden’s, feeling more courage to touch him whenever he wanted. Cameron would know the truth soon enough.
Aiden’s gaze met olive green, and the anger inside of him prevented him from returning River’s beautiful, genuine smile. He did, however, reciprocate the kiss placed to his lips. He hadn’t had a chance to read his text before River was there, greeting him. He was silent, and River had apparently noticed. “I shouldn’t have punched him, River. But I did.”
He squeezed River’s fingers, the sensation of them giving him courage to let out the words bottled inside. “Why don’t we get in the cab, so I can explain.” He picked up River’s guitar and opened the door. After River slid in, he closed the door and joined him through the driver’s side. He took a few moments after he closed the door. “I punched Cameron, so I wouldn’t punch your best friend. No, that came out wrong.” He looked over at River, his lips pursed. “I wanted to hit both of them, because they have been fooling around.”
River felt relief as Aiden squeezed his hand, even through the confusion provoked by Aiden’s comment. Who did he hit, exactly? River swallowed hard as worry consumed him.
He climbed into the truck, taking a deep breath as Aiden slid in next to him. The silence was making his chest tighten. When Aiden spoke, River’s eyebrows lifted. The first thought was why he’d feel the need to hit anyone. But then the moment of clarity came to him in the form of the truth. Cameron and Matty? River shook his head, not out of anger or disappointment for the loss of Cameron- he was going to break it off with him anyway- but rather the fact Matty didn’t tell River that he was genuinely interested in Cam. And Cameron. Cameron made him even more angry. he didn’t even want River; he just didn’t want Aiden to have him. And River, stupidly, had been prolonging his incredible relationship with Aiden to spare Cameron’s feelings. He clenched his teeth, finally feeling the urge to speak.
“I’m so sorry, Aiden.” He chewed his lip. “I had planned to break it off with Cameron tonight, anyway. I shouldn’t have waited so long. You’re who I want, and I should’ve had more courage to speak up sooner. I can’t believe he would do this to you.”
Aiden barely processed the head shake, but it was there, a blur in his vision as he continued to steam. River’s calming voice not only swept over him, but the words made him sit up a little straighter. He had planned to leave Cameron for him? That night. He felt something push on his heart, kickstart it. Even though rage was coursing through his veins, he felt desire transform the once rattling anger. One hand pushed him up toward River, his chin tilting toward the sky in order to capture River’s lips in his. The movements were fast and urgent, his other hand pulling at River’s shirt. He felt like he could both explode and combust at once.
“I love you, River,” he gasped, every hair on his arms standing up.
River kissed Aiden back once he realized what was happening. The tight grip on his shirt made his chest tighten at the sudden exhilaration. When their lips broke apart, River relished the sound of the breath Aiden sucked in. His eyes fluttered open as Aiden spoke. He studied every detail of Aiden’s jade color, like it was the first time he had truly seen them. There was no doubt clouding his bright green eyes.
Lifting his right hand, he touched Aiden’s face lightly, enjoying the way it felt to hear those words and feel the truth in them as they moved through his pores. He swallowed hard; his heart swelling as the emotion reached it.
“I love you, too, Aiden.” River smiled at him, his heart throbbing as he let his free hand cover Aiden’s and place it over his heart. “And I need you to be there with me when I confront them. I can’t do it without you.”
Aiden’s heart was still full as he walked River to Cameron’s dorm room. He couldn’t believe all of their conflicts were ending at once, and he was getting everything he wanted. Aiden held River’s gaze, his lips parting to speak. “Everything’s going to be okay, right? For both of us?”
Shaking his head, he didn’t let River answer before he knocked on the door. Intruding taught him a very valuable lesson. Cameron answered the door, and a bruise had already formed beneath his left eye. Aiden cringed, but didn’t apologize yet. He still deserved the action, but maybe he should have put a little less force behind it. “Can we talk?”
River watched Aiden as he spoke, not responding before the quiet knocking of Aiden’s knuckles against the door. Cameron appeared, his eye blackened already from where Aiden connected. River clenched his jaw; he couldn’t help but feel tremendously guilty for the entire scenario.
Cameron didn’t speak, he just stepped aside. Once inside, Matty looked up and locked eyes with River’s. He sighed as the door closed all four of them in to work out what needed to be sorted. Matty cleared his throat, being the first to speak up.
“I’m sorry you had to find out this way.”
Straight to the point- that was Matty. River stayed next to Aiden, feeling more courage by his true love than he ever felt alone.
“I’d be a hypocrite if I got mad about you two, honestly.” River replied, watching as Cameron made his way to stand next to Matt. “Matt, had you told me you were actually into Cam, I would’ve stepped aside.” River turned to Cameron. “And you. How could you do this to your brother? You didn’t want me, but yet you still put in effort so Aiden couldn’t have me. You tried to force yourself on me a few days ago, and you were obviously getting laid, so what would it have proved?” River shook his head. “I shouldn’t have let this go on this far, or even begin at all… Cam, I’m in love with Aiden. He’s all I want. So you two keep doing whatever it is you’re doing, and you won’t have to worry about sneaking around..“ River wrapped his fingers with Aiden’s, keeping his head up high. ”..And neither will we.”
Cameron didn’t blink until River’s hand met Aiden’s and every word sunk in. Did he have a chance in winning the argument? No. Was he going to fight back? Yes. They had been fooling around while Cameron and River were dating, and he was right about the clothing all along. “You were fucking each other all along, weren’t you? Since the bar?” Cameron felt his jaw tense, and he growled. Mint met jade, and he shook his head. He wasn’t sure why it mattered to him. After all, he was mostly right, he didn’t want Aiden to have River. “Why didn’t you fucking tell me? My own brother.”
Looking to River, he stepped closer. His eye was throbbing, but it was tolerable in the wake of his overwhelming anger. “What I don’t understand is what kept you with me if you love him? He obviously isn’t enough to have you 100%, until you find out that I was being fucked by your best friend. Was it my kindness, my intelligence, or something else? What exactly does Aiden lack that I have strength in? Please, humor me.”
