Can I predict the 2026 Dragon Award winners?
Maybe. Firstly, I donāt know if voting actually matters. That more popular books tend to win, suggests voting matters but also maybe the admins are picking popular books. Two of the biggest outliers (Brad Torgersen in 2019 and Timothy Zahn in 2023) might be admins tipping the scales but the earliest outlier (John C Wrightās Somewither in 2016) is likely due to vote mobilisation by Rabid Puppies.ā¦
A bit more Dragon analysis
Following on from yesterdayās post, I want to see if we can draw any sort of general conclusions about the Dragon Awards. First here is a sort of hypothesis to test. I swear I just checked the website and there was no sign, and then I saw Martha Wellsā post on Blue Sky that Queen Demon was a finalist.
